ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

@crackster haha true.....but we would not mind if they fix the date of result with some buffer time on their end, say 20th Feb (if 15th is when they hope to finish the procedure) and then declare the results by 16th, 17th, 18th.....would be a nice pleasant surprise, no?

Any info on how the placements for ISB is going this year?

@rochak22 I dont think your GMAT score matters once your shortlisted for the I/V..anyway that's for the panel to decide we can make endless hypothesis...ATB with your results

The wait is excruciating. Imagine coming to work every single day and actually not being able to focus on work at all when the work environment is cut-throat and requires 150% concentrations and work ! Feel like calling it sick and whiling away the time till Feb 15 because fun time passes fast :)

My plan B after getting to this stage is continue working and re-apply for ISB next year may be. But things may change and MBA might not be the priority anymore by then. I had my XL GMP interview on 21st, awaiting those results as well. Fingers tightly crossed !

I had my ISB interview on 27th Jan and it was a stress interview with a lot of cross questioning etc. Not a chill panel. Anyway... this thread is my favourite passtime now.

@King_Julian can you tell more about your cross questioning ?
@Kode_A dude, do you already have an admit from XLRI for the GMP?
@crackster 11 actually

@bindas_k - Why this thread is as active as CAT thread ?? coz we dont have anything better to do in life sad truth.25L in India is way too much, I do undersand that. All those who are not chasing a MBA dream say its not worth 25L, specially when other colleges are charging anything from 10 - 18L max.but ISB is a brandname known and respected in the global market. In consulting for sure.If plans are to work in India, I think other decent colleges too do the trick .@Rajat_S - dude whats your email ID ?? Cheers,
Dude, like you said ISB is a global brand name. In that context 25L is a steal compared to 80L for a 2 year MBA from top US Schools

@punters11 for me, its completely opposite! So long I had been dying to see feb 15th.. but now the time is just flying and i just dont want feb 15th to come.. the feeling that i "may be in" is surely better than the feeling that i m "not in"...unless the best is in store that i am "actually IN"
Hence, the countdown in hours so that D-Day seems further away :)

btw any i/v calls reported today???

@ammo44 is back!! :P

Hi all,

I had my interview on Feb 3rd in Hyderabad..700, 3.5 yr exp, IT, good ECs.. I would say it went good.. Think it was 3 alums who took it.. not so grilling.. the questions were mainly regarding my essays.. I will try and jot down what i can remember...
1. They started with how i came to Hyd and if I had visited the campus before.
2. After that they were very curious about one thing which I had mentioned in my essay regarding my future goals so proceeded to question on that.
3. From there it went to my field of concentration which I had mentioned as Operations. That was where the slight grilling happened for me. They asked me to tell why is I need MBA. I gave the usual answer.. analytical skills and stuff.. they proceeded to ask what is the analytical skill u specifically need. After that they switched to my job and asked if I like it. I replied in the affirmative so they asked me why I want to leave since am doing so well. They proceeded to ask me why cant I join operations in my current company. Gave the answer that since am from tech BG it wont be possible. somehow managed to ward off all the questions.
4. Then they proceeded to ask me abt the latest technology as I had mentioned in my interests that I am a big gadget lover. Asked me all sort of questions - cell phones, BB, tablets, PS4, cameras, OS, etc. Luckily I knew most stuff so sailed through.
5. After that we talked about my future goals. They asked me if I was interested in NGO work, (i replied in the affirmative.. don't know from whr did that come up). Anyways.. that was pretty much it.
Some small questions here and there. But overall definitely not as grilling as I was hoping for. I was satisfied with my performance..
Hoping for some good news soon. Cheers!
@punters11 Nahi bhai GMP is not in hand. Nothing in hand as of now.

And numbers go against my probability calculations.

I think chances of getting into XL GMP are more even though there are only 120 seats.
And I am damn scared for ISB even though there are 770 seats :)

And I know I am not wrong. All awesome profile guyz dont apply for GMP course I guess.

like my kelloggs eating friend :)
@ElonMusk 20th Feb is your's truly's B day.
I really hope results are out lot before then.

And its ISB. Even if exactly same profile guy/girl had got selected in R1.
Chances of we getting in and based on their rigorous algorithm based on the game IPP - Inky Pniky Ponky.
Some one had come up with this logic few pages ago. :D

Can you give a comparison of XL GMP and ISB PGP application process? How was the interview compared to ISB debriefs that you might have read? Thanks
@srm85 XLRI application is not rigrous like ISB...they have asked to fill simple acad and exp...
About the interview...XL interview was little bit vague...not much from traditional questions like why MBA, why this school, strengths/weaknesses, .... a little bit of discussion about my city...my work...and about defense forces...u cannot prepare for XL inetrview...im sure of...at max u cn knw about ur field, ur company and company background in detail....
@Kode_A
I am that someone.

Staying away from pagalguy to avoid pagalpan now a days..
@Ilovemagic Not sure how u arrived that conclusion. GMAT is very important till your final selection . It is one of the components that goes into determining your final selection. So don't write it off just yet but yes it's only one of e components and probably one of the important ones if not the most Important
