Hi. Please can anyone guide me regarding application deadlines for ISB?

Is there a high probability of admission if you submit your application for the first deadline?
Is the admission factor affected on the basis of application submitted in different deadlines?
What is the exact meaning of Early Entry Option?
Thanks in advance

I m an orthopaedic surgeon with 5 years post pg experience. What are my future prospects if I do the pgpx programme from iSB or iim?

@Bonesetter

I m an orthopaedic surgeon with 5 years post pg experience. What are my future prospects if I do the pgpx programme from iSB or iim?

Dear Bonesetter,

Your prospects for getting into an MBA program at IIMs/ ISB will depend on how well you are able to justify the need for an MBA degree. Is the degree going to help you enhance your profession in some way? That is to say, are you going to move to the management side - maybe start your own big scale clinic which will require management skills? If you want to continue practicing medicine alone, then it will be hard to convince b-schools that you need an MBA.

@Bonesetter

1) How do doctors fare after pgpx programme?

1. this takes us back to my previous answer. What do you want to do after the MBA?

@Bonesetter

2) What is the average salary for iSB graduates? Skip

The salary varies per industry and function. check out the ISB employment stats:

β€”

1) How any MBA grad fares through an MBA program depends a lot on what goals he or she went in with. Goal clarity infact becomes an admission criteria. An MBA can help you sharpen your managerial skills and help you secure a job as a manager with Fortis, as a life sciences consultant with a management consulting firm or get into healthcare roles with companies such as Philips. And yes Companies recruiting from ISB and IIM campuses for healthcare roles will prefer doctors. A few startups with healthcare focus have also started to visit campuses. Although you will have to work hard to get into coveted roles you will have an edge with your medical background.
2) Average salary figures are available on ISB website but your focus should be getting in touch with alumni with medical background, as they can provide you better insight into opportunities and placement scenario for doctors.

what is the difference between PGDM and MBA?

i'm confused.....😐 ? please help me out....

@nikitash

PGDM is only Diploma . . MBA is Masters Degree . . . IIM's offer PGDM . . colleges like FMS and more offer MBA degree . . . Buddy, MBA or PGDM doesnt matter . . only Brand name of the college you pass from matters . . .

@nikitash so u mean to say that it is not like that ki PGDM has more value than MBA or vice-versa....it is all same ....just the brand value of the college matters ...rytlookround

@nikitash

Absolutely. . .

What are my chances foe getting admission in ISB. What should I highlight in the Application|

hi guys,

i'm also going to apply this year. i have a very interesting profile but that might work against me too. i have 2.3 years in financial audits +1 year in SAP + currently pursuing IT audit. will total be 4.5 years at time of application submission. I'm a CPA, working in Accenture in US for federal government. I have made too many career switches, mostly to get out of audit, but it has been futile. that is exactly why I'm applying for mba because I want to do something more analytical and challenging. Would the adcom buy that response?

Thanks,

Sam
