I want to pursue an mba carrer in Strategic Financial Consultancy. Any ideas as what i need to work on, which will help me in building a well balanced profile around my goal meanwhile providing me some useful knowledge of it..
Any inputs on improvement of ECA will also be appreciated.
Can u Advise whether it will be good if an instance of leadership which i have mentioned in my essay is also mentioned by one of the evaluators, Will it appear to adcom as concocted story.
The incident which i have incident is the punch line which i dnt think any1 wud have mentioned.

Any B-school assumes that your evaluator keeps his response discreet in terms of content.If your evaluator has highlighted the same incident that you have mentioned in your essays,it makes your story even more significant.In fact, it would give a chance to adcom to see the same story from different perspectives which is always an add-on.However, the story should be told in same light otherwise it can also have a very negative effect.

Just a small query from Puys, Does ISB consider Reapplicants as New applicant and go thorugh applicantions from Scratch or previous years image is still considered. If anyone can help me with this, I would be glad.

I am targeting a TMT role in Management Consulting but I am a little unsure as my experience in advisory is limited to IP (tech + legal + and a bit of financial as we do valuation), so would it sound pragmatic if i align this exp with a strategy + leadership concentration and finally pitch for a MC goal in my essays.
I have another idea of working IP management consulting inhouse for top tech firms , n then moving on to become a consultant and then opening my firm
Kindly give your views on which of these 2 sounds more believable, also kindly give your two cents on my chances.

Yes delatpg, most of the feedback was around less clarity on future plans. I think my profile was good but failed to convert same due to less interview preparations. Suggestion to all - Do not think that questions would be largely around your past achievement, future goals are equally important, infact more important.
I am a doctor. Just started with the second year of my Post Graduation (MD).
I will have roughly 5 years of experience (provided the one year internship experience is added up by ISB.. Can someone please confirm this for me?)
I have been really disillusioned by the entire profession and now I feel I am tired trying to keep up in a field where I don't have a natural knack. I feel I can do much better in a Pharma MNC.
So, I know it, that eventually I would leave behind my profession and shift to business.
I would complete my MD by July 2014. I feel I would have invested too much of time and energy completing something that I never wanted to, in the first place. And by then, it would be too late for me to enter a B school and start a new career.
I am applying to ISB in R1.
Could someone please suggest, if I should mention about my ongoing post graduation in my application? Won't it be a negative to my profile when it comes to light that I am willing to resign from my postgraduate training without completing it?
Even otherwise, if I don't mention about this course in my application, I can cover up for this time by showing that I was working as a Junior doctor in this specialization.. So, that won't be a problem.
@detapg Thanks for your reply, finally i am done with application n evaluations only nad the biggest hurdle is gmat which i will give on 1st sept, i dont know how good will it be.

It can be the same incident. However it would be to your benefit if the recommendation highlights a different strength. So, you may write about resilience while the recommendation talks about quick thinking. Each applicant will have a variety of strengths.. You want to make sure all your strengths get highlighted.
Need your advice (if anybody is in the same rocky boat). My GMAT score was sent to ISB on 11th Aug according to mba.com. But the application status page says they are yet to recieve the official score report. I am afraid I might miss the app deadline due to an "incomplete" application. Any idea whom I should approach? Have sent a query to and awaiting their reply.
