ISB Class of 2014 aspirants.

@santoor Good luck!
@pardhu1987 I feel you have a balanced profile and your international experience really holds you in good stead. That said ISB really looks for that "profile diversity" so IT experience might be the factor that might pull you down a little bit. Try and bring out the diverse aspects of your profile in your video essay/other essays.
@DN2686 Thanks...Will do that surely....
I understand IT pool will be huge, will highlight the important professional achievements in the essays.

Till 12 Sep midnite, no. of applications were 270..i know that coz that was my application id

Seems to have drastically dropped from last year..wonder the reasons for that ??
@VincISB
Your Work ex will be just 2 years by Mar'2013. But I suppose with really good GMAT score (720+), you can highlight the awesome International Experience and Extra-curriculars.
Seeing your description above, your Work Diversity should cover up for low work-ex.

Quite surprising indeed.... Video essay is definitely a potential time-consuming component in application from last year... but lets wait and see if the next 2 days can turn the tables...
@shrikant0218 how can you claim that, application id is in 6 digit :)

the first 2 digits represents your year of graduation..this year all ids begin with 14, last yr all ids began with 13 and the yr before in 12...

the remaining 4 digits represent your order of submission...last yr r2 ids were in 4000+..whereas r1 ids were in the hundred and early thousands...

How about around 750?

I say this because you have a poor GPA and it would be advisable to compensate that with a good GMAT score.

Extra curricular activities are used by the adcom to determine that you are not an all work person, but have some interests outside work as well. In my opinion, if you are passionate about something and are able to reflect that passion into your application, it is far more forceful than writing about 5 disconnected and trivial activities that you have taken up sporadically.

it seems your passion lies in sports, so make a strong case about it when you write the essays, emphasizing how you will continue to contribute to the sports scene at ISB.

You need to stick around in one company to build your credibility. Also, that's when the real responsibilities will start coming your way.

Hi, around 30 mins after you submit the application and make successful payment, the complete application is available in PDF format to take a print. So if you are good to submit the app, just do it. You will receive status email accordingly and when you login back to app portal, you will see the option to download it to your system. Hope this helps.

Guys.. Is it ok if join the 2 parts of video essay into 1 or do I need to recrd everything at one go? I have the YLP videos and most of them are joined. Is this ok? or will create any negative impression?

Has anyone already received an Interview call ? I heard that they don't wait till the deadlines, but the I hear a lot of useless stuff. πŸ˜‰

@sudhir3127 : Ask that question to yourself and you shall have the answer !!! All others can provide are just opinions :)

@BharatG whats your opinion?

Well, if I submit my Applicaiton on 14th .they will send a link .Do they give extra time for the evaluators ?

Hi

I am looking to apply to ISB in R2 for 2014. I have not started preparation much yet. Do you guys think there is enough time to be able for application(Dead line is 30th Nov). What is the GMAT score i should target. Initial assessment for GMAT prep seems as below .
Quants - Problem Solving is Ok, Data sufficiency in time bound is not good
Verbal - RC is Ok, Sentence correction is poor while logical reasoning is Ok as well.

Also please evaluate my profile based on this.

a) Btech from a topmost NIT with very good academics throughout. within top 5 of branch. aggregate 85%
b) 7 years of work experience with one of topmost s/w product company. 3 years in India and 4 years in US.
c) Primary has been in S/w Engineer role. But has been in work involving cross boundary collaborations etc
d) Has been in past Involved in co-curricular activities, with NGO etc.
@VincISB As per what I heard, in your case since ur work-ex is low, applying to R1 would have been better. But that is fine, try for 730+ GMAT and prepare a strong case. And as IvyVictor has suggested if they like you they might give u a deferred admission (if they also think ur work-ex is too low)
