can u tel me how does ISB hyderabad stand when compared to IIMS? AND Secondly whats the value of a student passed out from ISB hyderabad...it wud be very helpful and kind of u if u reply
Getting into any comparison will be like looking at apples and oranges!! Each has its own merits and demerits!
How would you define the value of any student?? Lets not have such open ended questions tht are open to speculation and opinions!!
If you have specific questions on the course, your fit or any other thing, feel free to post on this forum!!

I have heard that each b-school even though offering general management is known better for a particular field. Like Columbia is known for Finance and Kellogg for Marketing...
What is ISB known for? rather in field does it have the best faculty wherein one can get more exposure and learning?
Sometimes.. all you ned is google to find your answers!!

I'm in fix whether to apply for PGP or PGPMAX program in ISB. For PGP, average age is around 27 and average work ex is 5 yrs as per the website. This is a bit turn off for me for PGP And for PGPMAX, average recommended work ex is 15 though 10 is min, I guess
About myself: X - 86% X11 - 83% BE - 71% (NIT ) MS - 3.25 (US) 11 yrs of IT experience (7 yrs in US) Certified PMP, attended MDPs Domain certifications from US Taking GMAT in Oct
Post MBA goals: To move into senior management roles within IT industry Can someone help me to make a decision? Am I too young for PGPMAX?Is my experience less as the website says it's a program for Senior management. I'm currently in middle management level. I see both programs more or less cost same and given that I don't have to quit the job, I felt PGPMAX could be a better option as it doesn't impact the life for my family. The other difference is the placements part as understandably it's an Executive MBA. But I do have to change job post MBA as my current company is too small and do not have opportunities to grow. Which Program could be a good boost to my career?
This is an old thread. I am a current student at ISB and I had started a new thread called ISB Connect sometime back for the upcoming batch. There are already quite a large number of questions answered on that thread.
To keep all things relevant I request all prospectives and ISB alums and current students to please start posting questions, replying to answers respectively on the new thread instead of bumping up this thread.
Also through my initiative called ISBConnect you can connect with prospective students and get industry specific answers. Links to the form are mentioned in the first post of the the new thread.
i just have one query, while going through isb website, i saw the eligibility for students, it was written that students with job experience will be "preferred" ....so i want to know whether freshers do get admission in isb....if that is the case, i ll surely give gmat...
What it implies is that people with lessthan 2 yrs will be given a deferred admit i.e. they can join after they complete the 2 yrs of work-ex!

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think PGPMAX is not a fulltime course, it's a parttime course. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are. Total 13 yrs work ex in IT. Not sure if ISB is the right fit for me.
I am a prospective student and am looking for current or former ISB students who have a pure journalism background. As for me, I am a financial journalist covering the pharmaceutical sector for one of the largest national business dailies in the country. I have been in this field for over 5 years now though have been covering business for just over 2 years. I have a MA in journalism and a BA in sociology. took the GMAT last week and scored very poorly: 590. Planning to retake it if its going to be a block in my application. I would love to interact with students/ex students with similar background to understand better how I can improve my chances. Thanks

Also whether any offers are made by them for profile in Global Market Grp/ Treasury.
I am presently having 8 months of work ex with a analytics major, I have opportunities from ZS Associates for Business Operation Associate and Mckinsey knowledge center for Junior Analyst (Marketing Analytics).
Which profile will be appropriate for ISB?
When should one apply for ISB if have some knowledge in consulting or analytics domain?
I have been wait listed for admission to the CO2012. I understand that little can be said with certainty but can anyone from the CO2011, from their experience, give out some statistics regd. the wait list?
Also, by when do you think the wait lists starts getting converted? ISB has mentioned third week of March, is it really that late?
I recall seeing a couple of profiles with 1 year experience - I dont remember the girl's name, but she had studied BA Econ at St Stephens, Delhi. So I figure a year at Deutsche Bank would hold you in good stead.
