Admissions Team,
Thanks for the answers to my previous querries. I have few more regarding the application process and deadlines.
a. I am planning to submit my application for R1 ? Where in the application form do I select R1/R2 ? If I submit my application by R1 deadline, but my evaluators upload their evaluations after the deadline, will my application be automatically considered for R2 ?
b. In the information session at Bangalore, I was told that activities at workplace like working with the HR team in recruitment and training initiatives could be written about in the activities section.
The activities section in ISB online application is structured to submit a particular activity during a time span and with a designation and has a character limit. However, these activities are typically spread across years and will not have a designation associated with them. Please advise me on how I can fit these in to the application.
I do not have place in the optional essay to fit this in.
c. Regarding the patents, I was told that that I do not need to give the details. However, my applications are spread across multiple years. If cover all 3 patents as a single achievement, what year do I associate with these patents ?
You can directly upload your salary slip but it needs to be in a jpeg format. We only need your latest salary slip. There is another field where you can mention your gross ctc.
Admissions Team
Dear Sir,
The online salary slip would be with the company header, but would not be attested. Is that fine ?
I have few more querries regarding the Job accomplishments section of the application.
a. We have space only for 3 accomplishments in each job. Wouldn't that be a disadvantage for people with lot of experience in a single organisation. People who jumped across a few organisations would have more space to write about their accomplishements.
Can we split the experience in a single organisation into multiple parts to make up for this disadvantage ?
c. Is there a word limit for the Job accomplishments section ?
c. Can we assume that the application and the essays would be read together ? This assumption helps us avoid repeatition and enables us to write essays that will project aspects that haven't been projected through work experience section.
I am working with a Multi-National Internet based product company.
I am building a venture out of my experiences in this industry. I have build a strong team to accomplish my goal. The team works under my leadership to bring out the product in around a year from now. Since I am a employee currently, I cannot make any record of my venture, which may threat my job.
My main motivation for ISB is that ISB has a lot of support for entrepreneurs. I believe I am surely one of them. I want to continue my working on my venture after my MBA. I want to apply all that I learn @ ISB to my venture. But unfortunately I don't have any filed record for my venture.
What are all the ways through which I can make the ADCOM aware of my position. Where can I provide support to my entrepreneur role. I understand essays are one place to talk about this. But won't that look like a story, If it is not backed up with records.
Hi, I completely agree and understand that this is not a profile check thread. The question is straight-forward. I appeared for the GMAT on saturday and faired(not really) with a 680(Q49,V34). My opinion is that the score is not good enough for application to ISB. However it will depend on the comparative score but this one is clearly below average. Am I correct? Would you recommend that I retake the GMAT and submit the GMAT scores for R-2 ? Waiting for your feedback.
hi there seems to be a problem in the employment details section of the application. when i give my "from " as 9/12/1999 and "to" as 23/6/2000 it doesnot accept saying that "from date cannot be greater than to date". may i request that the bug be rectified at the earliest so that i may complete the application in time for R1. what should i do incase it doesnt as i have already exhausted my word limit for optional essay explaining other pertinent issues. thanks
Looking forward to your response for the following questions:
1. I have professional certifications like PMP etc.. Where should I add this information?
2. I have done non-profit jobs, where I did not make any money. However, ISB system does not let me enter the salary as 0. What do I do?
3. I have earned 35+ awards/ certificates in extracurricular activities like debates/elocutions/personality contests etc. from school to college How do put this information in 6 rows of 'Awards' section?
4. I have led various organizations in school/college organizations and the total is more than 7. How do I put this information in 3 rows under 'Activities' section?
1.Extra curricular activities. 3.Choose the 6 best awards/certifications that you think will show your leadership. It is a matter of "choose the best". 4.Again choose any 3 here.

2. On what parameters will the reapplicant essay be evaluated?

Sarat,
1) Yes, this can be done, based on different designations. 2) You cannot type beyond the text box. 3) Yes, these will be read together. Admissions Team

Shiva,
We do not need any proof for this. Please make a mention about this in your essays and when probed in the interview (if short-listed), make sure you provide proper explanation. Admissions Team

Sarat,
1) You do not have the option to select R1/R2. If you submit your application before September 15, then the software will automatically allocate it under R1. If your evaluators submit the evaluations after the first deadline, then your application will be considered for R2. 2) Optional essay and essay one are the only places where these can be mentioned. 3) You can explain the patents year wise in the Optional essay. Abhi !
Abhi,
A strong application in Round 2 is better than a weak one in Round 1. A good GMAT score will always add strength to your application.
First of all I would like to thank you for this great initiative. I am planning to give my GMAT in 2009 and apply in 2010. My query is regarding the placement data on ISB website. I noticed that the salaries quoted in your website are all CTCs and not the actual base salaries. Most international schools give the placement data in the form of base salaries. MBA being an important investment in a candidates career, if one had base salary information, it can be of great help in deciding and comparing the ROI and the pay back time. Can the data on website deemed to be nearly equivalent to base salaries? I would like to know what base salary(average) can a candidate expect in energy/oil & gas sector? Also, are there companies in ISB placement process, offering energy consulting careers?
Regards
Chakra7six,
Glad to see your interest in ISB. The data requested is not readily available with us. Please understand that salaries given on the website are only indicative and depend on several factors such as student profile, role & position, company/industry & prevailing market conditions. The average payback time for the investment in ISB-PGP is 5-7yrs.
Energy consulting is a niche area where there is a limited demand from the student body. The demand from the student drives the recruitment process. A company will visit ISB only if the student body shows some interest in it. The students will always have enough opportunities to connect to the companies that they are are looking for. Companies like PWC have recruited students for its consulting roles in energy.
