Thanks Sir, Also wanted to check with you, if applying in the 2nd round places me at any disadvantage as compared to the 1st round.
Bc2008,
As mentioned before, Round 1 only gives you a slight advantage over Round 2. If you have a strong application, it does not matter which cycle you apply in.
1. Would the scholarship essay have any influence on interview shortlisting/final admit or it would be evaluated separately -only for decision on scholarship?
2. On what parameters will the reapplicant essay be evaluated?
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks and regards, Poonam
Poonam,
1) No, the scholarship essay will only be read once the candidate has been short listed. 2) Improvement in profile
I am planning to take the GMAT on Sept 13th , saturday (2 days before the 1st application deadline) I would like to know if my application will be considered for the 1st deadline in the absense of AWA grades (because by the time AWA grades come, 1st deadline would have been passed).
Dear Sir , Can you provide me any background information on the Nurture India Scholarship , that might be useful to me for the scholarship essay. Regards, Arnob
Few questions (sorry if they have been asked before):
1. can I apply twice in the same year, that is, if i am rejected for cycle 1, i may wish to take GMAT again, and then apply again with a better score and better written essays...
Is it allowed?
2. Also, how are the admissions distributed between the 2 cycles? Does ISB select 50% of its batch from both the cycles? Or are there more admits from the 1st cycle? is there an advantage in applying in the 1st cycle?
It was a pleasure to attend the contact program and meet Mr Menon in Chennai-31st August.
The Session was very informative and has strengthened my resolution to get an admit in 2009 Batch.
My vertical is Retail and my work experience has been in Lifestyle retailing and Service Retailing, in Domains like Retail Operations, Business Development and Marketing.
Because of my varied experience i have been lucky enough to work closely with people in different function not only within my organisation but also with vendors, agencies and consultants.
I would be applying in Round 2.I Understand that 2 online Reco would be required to be submitted along with the application.I wanted to know whether it is possible to submit more than 2 recos( 3 in my case).Does the system accept 3 recos.

Amit,
Your application will be considered in the first cycle if we receive your official score by 25 September but not later than that.
I am working in a govt. sector hospital. and those who will recommend me do not have official email id. On the application website of ISB I entered the email id @gmail.com for recommendation after filling other details. I also entered why I could not enter the organization email id.
However, to my surprise the application failed to move on and kept on asking me for an organization's email id.
So how do I complete my application?
thanks a lot saket

Arnob,
Nurture India Scholarship is granted to an admitted applicant who is the sole bread earner of his/her family and has dependant parent/siblings without any or little income. No other information can be provided regarding the scholarship. Admissions Team

Brand Manager,
No, you cannot upload a third reco. The system will only accept two. Admissions Team
1) Does ISB consider the difference between the marks / GPAs awarded by different university and State boards / CBSE ? as it might be easier to score 75% in from one univ. while it might be really tough to cross 70% barrier in another univ. Should I mention what were the top % in my class , if so, what would be the ideal place to mention that.
2) Is it required to obtain 'transcripts' per se from the universities, or the original marksheets and degree certificates should suffice ? As I am working in US and it might not be possible for me to obtain the transcripts at the time of application / interview.
Mr. Menon, I have two questions in respect of the application form.
1. In the education details, one field asks us to enter % scored in bachelors course. Do I enter the marks scored in the third year or an average of first year, second year and third year? The marksheets and transcripts for the third year do not contain average % of all three years.
2. I completed 3 years of CA articleship of which 2 years was after graduation. I will have 2 years of work experience post qualifying as a CA by April 2009. In the employment section, I have entered the details of my articleship and my post qualification job. This section also asks us to enter the total no. years of experience. What do I enter as the work experience here? a. 5 years (3 years articleship + 2 years post qualifying workex) b. 4 years (2 years articleship post completing b.com + 2 years post qualifying workex) c. 2 years (only the post qualifying workex) Thanks a lot.
Hi, I have a work ex of 9 years. I did not apply earlier because of financial constraints. I had to support my parents. (my father did a pvt job and was retired). My wife is a housewife. Now I am just in a situation that my family can manage without me earning for an year (i.e. during my MBA).
What income proof do I need to produce for financial aid. My father left the job long before.
I have a question regarding the optional essay. Does a candidate in any way have a disadvantage during admission if he attempts the optional 4th essay. Is explaining a low GMAT score a good idea for an optional essay or does the adcom prefer an applicant to manage in 3 madatory essays.
My query: A quick look at the recruiters list on the ISB website makes me conclude that the non-profit sector doesn't have much of a representation at ISB. Please correct me if I am wrong. Also in one of your previous posts you mentioned that its up to the students to connect with the recruiters. Does this mean so far students have not expressed interest towards the organisations in non-profit sector (assuming my conclusion above is true)?
