Yes, they will do a credit check through CIBIL and then process the loan. You will need a personal guarantor who is currently working to guarantee your loan. Other documents include your mark sheets, salary slips and IT returns for last 3 years. Admissions Team

I have recently taken my GMAT exam on 9th November and scored 610. I was interested to apply for ISB in 2nd cycle. But after the GMAT score, it seems to me the chances are bleak.
I belong to IT Profession ( 4.5 yrs of experience in Financial Services domain ) But i have an exceptional academic achievements & now i have an admit in SPJain Global MBA.
I would like to know if 610 GMAT score is not a problem for Admission consideration to ISB keeping in view that i have strong academic background, please suggest should i apply for ISB ?

let me taken little responsiblity of easing adcom's work tension as they are in final duscussion of R1 result.
charlie_cat, As u already know IT pool is very competetive. but ISB doesnt evaluate just with GMAT score alone and it considers other aspects of applicantion too. there are instances, ISB had taken people in the score u have quoted. however, a better GMAT will enrich the prospects, particularly from the industry where u come from.
I appeared for GMAT in Dec 2004 and the scores are still valid. While i tried for sending the scored to ISB for consideration for 2009-2010 session, MBA.com discards the GMAT ID given on my official score sheet received from ETS. Please let me know how can i send the scores to you, as the test was conducted by Educational Testing Services (ETS).
Also, i had sent the scores to ISB (code 7010) at that time directly from ETS. Cant the same be retrieved by ISB? I have the official original score sheet received from ETS with myself.
Please advise as i am too keen on applying before the deadline, for which i need to send a request for scores to be sent to you in a day or two so the at the same are received by you in a couple of weeks time.
1) I am an R2 applicant. My organisation is sponsoring me for the PGP. I cant find the place where I can mention this in the application.
2) Also, I learnt from the brochure that I need to present a letter of commitment from my employer. Where should I upload this letter ?
3) Can I include my MD Radiology period of 3 years in work experience ? ( I have done MD post MBBS and got monthly pay during those 3 years. It used to be like 90 % work and 10 % academics )
Yes, you will have to resize them to A4. Please scan your mark sheets in black & white and not in colour. Your mail regarding passport scans has been replied to.

Dear AdCom,
Regarding uploading the GMAT score report for R2 applicants, do you want us to upload the copy one receives at the test-center immediately after the test or the unofficial copy that GMAC sends 4-5 days after the test.
Moreover, if the unofficial score copy has to be uploaded - this is a soft-copy in itself. In such a case, do we still need to printout/scan it, or can we simply upload the entire PDF document (or maybe only the score part) online?

I'm a doctor at All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), New Delhi. I have work experience of two years(current status). lately I have been interested more in finance. Do you think my being from medical field will be any deterring factor for me to get a job in finance after PGDM from ISB. I have a international award for best esaay and some research publications, but in medicine. Will these things go waste or they help somewhere down the line even if I switch careers. I have cleared CFA level I and NCFM(NSE) modules in finance for me to stand on a little firmer ground for applying a good fin job.
I am an R2 applicant to the ISB. I have a special situation which I do not know how to reflect in my ISB application.
I have been employed full time since last 5 years. However, since last 3 years, I have also tried to set-up my own firm, working part-time on it. I couldn't make the venture big but I feel that my efforts for this startup are worth mentioning to ISB.
1. Could you please tell whether working part-time on own venture while working full time is looked positively or negatively by ISB?
2. If I need to reflect my own-venture/part time experience to ISB, under what head should I do it? Part-time or Self-employed?
3. I did not make any money from my Venture till now. What should I mention in the starting and last drawn salary there? The form doesn't allow me to write it as zero.
4. If I choose Self-employed - it asks me for "Other experience". Should I write the company name where I was full-time employed while trying my venture?
My query is regarding the program structure and contents and how is it geared towards handling the requirements of students with diverse work experiences. Prior work experience of ISB students range from 2 years to 8 years. While a student with an experience of 2 years would be preparing for a entry level role in management and a person with 8 years under his/her belt would be preparing for a middle level management role. I want to understand how ISB takes care of these different types of profiles, both in terms of course content and placement. Is there some kind of customization in curriculum or a common cirriculum is provided for all.

Charlie_cat2008,
You can definitely apply with your current GMAT score but a better score will increase your chances of being short listed for the interview.

MSD,
You can upload any of the three copies - Test Taker's, Unofficial or Official Report - whichever is available with you at the time of submitting the application.
You can attach the soft copy but it will have to be converted to a jpeg and should be of size 150 dpi.

Please reply I would really appreciate.
Thanks

Nikhil,
You can make a shift from medicine to finance but in the end it all depends upon the requirements of a recruiter. There are students who have made a shift from mediceine to private equity also. So, in the end it all boils down to the 'best fit' for both - the recruiter as well as the student.

You reply would help me considerably.

Amit,
1) It will not be looked at negatively. 2),3) & 4) You must explain your start-up only in the Optional essay. In the Employment details, only mention your Full time work exp and the corresponding salary figure.
Thanks for taking time out. Do you believe that a lot of previous students have changed their CAREER GOAL . Do you believe that a clearer picture of what one might do post-MBA emerges during the course of the MBA.

Vivek,
This question can be correctly answered only by the alums and not the ADCOM.
Yes, a clear picture emerges only during the course of MBA. Students come in with Plan A/B/C in mind but this keeps on changing as some new interests are added or old ones left behind.
Menon Sir This time I have No question. I am submitting my application for R-2 in weeks.
Just to say, whenever I visit this thread, I find Great!! Nowhere in the world , we find such enthusiasm, such co-operative AdCom. who else on earth will take time out and answer trivial querries so patiently!! I strongly believe ISB has a great future thanks to the attitude and the outlook you all having. you all listen to students carefully and students are your top priority. Next 5-10 Years, people will talk only about ISB-H and ISB-M

Radiochandra,
1) Just attach a letter of sponsor as part of your mark sheets. 2) Same as 1. 3) Under academics, please list this as part time and under work exp please list this as full-time. Admissions Team

Puneet,
You need not resend the score if it was sent to ISB in 2004.
