hey jetekic, currently is it very difficult to find a job in canada after a 1 year program for international students (i.e. without internship) ? I thought only for drastic career shifters an internship is very critical. If one is looking for a job in a related industry and has transferable skills is it still very difficult?
Gallahad, I agree with you. Due to the current market, however, it might be difficult. Canadian companies incline to recruit people with Canadian experience. But it really depends, and sometimes there's nothing but lucky works...I would say never, never give up. If we have the dream, keep on our hard working and we will eventually succeed.
I am in touch with Queen's current students, and one of the student told me that today they have companines coming in for campus. just imagine on May-09 the course started and companies are coming in for campus in sep-09. He told me companies are coming from all sectors, banking, consulting, energy etc.. This may be the first round for interview. He also told me that some comapnies are shortlisting based on residency status (means canadian citizenship or PR) but not all.. I think same situation will be at Ivey also... So keep up the hope... hey guys those of you still waiting for a communication from ivey I would suggest keep your cool and wait for a week more or maybe even two. I heard from one of my friends who applied to Ivey and he turned impatient and called them and asked for a quick admit response which resulted in a reject. I think being impatient may adversely affect your application, especially if the application is in a wait-listed state or under review. "Just my opinion" :)
I acknowledge that the wait is very testing, but keep yourself occupied and move on with your other applications and essays.

I think my interview was also good.. if not great.. that's why had a lil hope.. anyways I have asked for their feedback..will help me while applying to other b-schools.. Thanks Bobby!!
I get all my ivey emails sent to my work...and I will be at work in 30 minutes...so i will keep you guys posted...but if you got a ding with a 740gmat...my 630 will prob. not hold up....
