anyone have an admit or ding updates?

No News.Yet ...May be tomorrow.....Friday is the most happening day for ivey news...

Hi ppl... This is my first post in this forum. Last week I received an Admit to the Spring 2010 class. My profile is 740 GMAT with 4+ yrs workex. My best wishes to those who are writing applications and appearing for interviews shortly. Looking forward to get in touch with you all specifically as we go through the seemingly cumbersome process of arranging funds, visa and accommodation et al. Meanwhile, has anyone received the admission package with details of financial aid or scholarships yet?

aNDee? are you from Canada or india??

congrats on the admit!!!!!!!

Hi Andee,

I also have an admit. How are you managing your finances.

Finances are now the biggest hurdle.

Chirag

hey guys looks we have around 10 admits in this group : Maybe we should create a yahoo/google group for very specific private discussions regarding finances etc. But I still think we should keep posting stuff to this thread, since this thread is very active and has an awesome amount of information from which all can benefit.
Admits that I have noted: (kindly add / modify as required):
1. Chiraggupta_86
2. jetekic
3. aNDee
4. mbazing
5. DJ / debo123
6. Aditya
7. premprakash133
8. gallahad
(May have missed out a few more here).
Hi Guys,
Congratulations to all who have made it to Ivey MBA CO 2011, and all the best to all who are still waiting for results. Also guys who couldn't make it I strongly believe that they have something better in store. gallahad debo23 and DJ are the same person that's me 😃
Admits pls join the yahoogroup 'iveymba2011' for discussions on financing MBA, visa process etc.

Thanks
Dj

Rightly said Chirag... your happiness over getting an admit suddenly gives way to anxiety when the reality of a $100K investment dawns upon you. For me, it will predominantly bank loan only. Has anyone out of the list of 8 admits in this forum heard anything called financial aid or scholarship so far? 😲

It may not be the Friday thing at all.
Guess Ivey is responding to the high GMAT scorers first. They are probably not too sure about the low scorers and we will get to know only near the end of the deadline (Oct 4).

So we have a good chance unless trumped by better Round 1 applicants. Ivey is also waiting to see if better people apply.

Hi,
I am an applicant for round1.I have the following queries to all who have applied in EA round-
I have completed my Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from NIT,Durgapur,India. My language of instruction during the 4 years of Engineering was English. Will Ivey waive the English
proficiency requirement for me?
I am kind of confused as if I go by the URL-http://www.ivey.uwo.ca/mba/admissions/international.htm,it seems if my post-secondary education is at an English speaking institution, then Ivey will allow the waiver.
But in the 'online help' section of the online application it is written "please describe your work or education experience in an
English speaking country" while requesting a waiver.
Can you please clarify?
Thanks
RC

Hey ctarafdar!!
I agree, it seems as though most of the admits, if not all, are 700+ GMAT...

I was thinking though, not EVERYONE knows that Ivey is gone to a double cohort in Spring. I think some people still think that they might be having a Sept intake since they just changed it this year, so do you think this might result in less applications? I know it could be a stretch... but I am all for positive thinking.

The avg of the GMAT is 660....so that means a good chunk of admits are around 600-660 GMAT...so I still do have hope until the day they tell me I am not accepted..

This is just so nerve racking and I really hope I get in....but I have started working on other apps...just the basic info tho, no essays yet...you always got to have a plan B in life and in applications...hehe...bottom line is..If I do not get into Ivey, I will be going to get my MBA in 2010!!

DETERMINED!!!

Good to know that you have started on your other applications. If you dont mind, which other schools are on your list.

The average at Ivey is 660, and may be local students would contribute more to it. The international students, especially from India are bringing in much higher scores. You have a fair chance.

I guess Ivey is confused with the low scorers who otherwise have a decent profile and had a good interview. :w00t: And so is taking some more time before offering or rejecting them.

Most serious applicants would know about the merging of the cohorts. So Ivey will not have a dearth of applicants.

Just Rotman's and Schulich (still in the air bout Schulich)....maybeeee Queens..but other then prob check out some US or European schools....

I am not to fond of any other Candian programs, although I am sure there are others out there that are great, they just dont match what I am looking for.

Ivey is still my #1 option, followed by Rotmans...then its all up in the air.
