I am new to this forum . I have just recently applied for Ivey MBA 2010 Batch on last sunday. I have a simple question . I understand that we can send our transcripts via email to Ivey . Can anyone convey to me the email address ? Also is it necessary to send hard copy of transcripts to the school at this stage ?
Waiting for your replies
Sachin
I don't think you can email. They have asked for 2 copies of official transcripts to be sent by snail mail. The address is somewhere in this thread.Apart from the transcripts, they have asked for a copy of your degree/diploma(but I think that is optional). As for mail service, you can use DHL unversity express that sends any application mail sent any where in the world for a flat rate of INR 990. Hope that helps.
Can the Recommendations be sent Via Email, to save time...?
My problem is my Gmat is in last week of Oct...and R2 deadline is 2nd Nov
What abt transcripts...? Is Ivey strict about them being sent from college for processing appps, or can i send the scanned copies first and then hard copies later on...
For Toefl i would write to them, as all my education has been in English...
Hi,I think it is always better to send by email.Ask your recommendrs to send the mail from their official ids. Then mail the admission office to acknowledge the receipt of the same. Regd transcripts,I had mailed Ivey and the response was you can send the transcript yourself using a mailing service that offers tracking.Univ. will give u the transcripts in a sealed envelope with"To whom it may concern" written(In my univ.this is the scene). You put the same sealed envelope in another envelope and mail.
Hi brandmanager... Just mail the admission team for any confirmations. They are very helpful. To my knowledge, Transcripts can be by you in a sealed cover which you get from your university. Like RC150 has said.. just request your recommenders to send it from their office id.
Is there anyone planning for an Ivey visit on Dec 4th?
I am thinking of attending it. And anyone from india, if they have attended a class visit before, please give me your gyan's and also what is the visa procedure for it ... is tourist visa enough?

I have registered for the event and got a travel award of 1200CAD .I think the visitor visa is relevant.I have checked with the my org's travel department that it takes 4-5 days to get the visa after submission of relevant docs to VFS.But need to know the experience of previous attendees before deciding on attending it.I have mailed to Arun aka demandez about this and waiting for his response.
Well, just wanted to let you all know that I had been admitted to Richard Ivey for program starting Spring 2009 and due to financials constraints, I had to defer it to Spring 2010. However, the crisis still goes on and as a result I had to give up the admission offer.
So I guess someone from you is going to take my place at Ivey this coming season.
I would be happy to guide you in case anyone wants me to answer any questions.
All the best to everybody and I hope none of you have to give up your seat just like I had to (BTW, I hope you guys know that the cost of an MBA from Ivey is around 42 lakhs and don't even think of doing a part-time job coz you won't get the time)
Cheers..!
Hi Lakshya
Well you are not going for Ivey or you have decided to skip the plan for MBA totally.

Hi Bobby,
Well, an MBA is definitely on the horizon (I have been working at it for 4+ years now). It's just that I don;t have sufficne tmoney right now to go for the program and since I haven;t recieved any schol, managing 42 lakhs is difficult for me. I am short of around 10-12 so have given up hope. I can't rob a bank or hold someone ransom u know to get that amount
hi lakshya, It is unfortunate that you are having to let go of the offer. Will you be losing the CAD 5000 dollars for deferral? I also have been wait listed. I was an early applicant. Did the keep you continuously updated or suddenly gave you a call informing of the admission offer?
Out of curiosity, are you joining any other college/program?
All the best.
Let me answer all your questions one by one
The CAD 5000 is for acceptance for admission. Ivey was very good in the fact that they deferred my admission and since I was financially a little tight they granted me an extension to pay the initial deposit.
I was wait listed too when I aplied last year in September (for intake of Spring 2009) and they confirmed the admission in Feb 09.
They usually would give you a call. They might have already told you that they are curently going through the applications and out of the blues you might get a call. I remember I was having a couple of beers and I get a call from Ivey and I had to strain hard to listen
Lastly, I wish I was joining another progran. I just wish. I have a score of 650 and I will be going for the exam one last time before I apply again anywhere. So as of now, I don't have any admits or any inclination to go anywhere. maybe sometime next year with another year of work-ex
had my interview on the 5th Oct...si I gues I should be patient and wait till the end of October..Trying to concentrate on the other apps...but its a bit hard...

Hey, I was in the same boat as you. It is VERY hard to work on other apps while waiting...just keep yourself occupied.
It has only been just over a week and Monday was a holiday here in Canada so just be patient...it could take anywhere up to the deadline of the round, which is early Dec to get a decision. But realistically, give them about 4-5 full weeks and they will give you an update.
why dont u share ur interview exp, as well as ur profile
Well...heres my profile
Work Ex : 3.5 years last 2 years as Module/Team lead GMAT 700 Extra curriculars : exceptional have been a state/district /zoanl level player and have modelled for ZOD shirts during my college days, was the founding memeber of an NGO and taught in another...
I felt the interview didnt go tht well...was with karen conway...have posted my experiaces between pages 61-65...
Update from my end...Gmat Retake in next 10 days..need to cross 700.
Ivey has written back that my Reco's can be sent through mail by my recommenders..:-)
Also they dont need transcripts as of now. Scanned copies would do, and i can submit transcripts at a later stage.
They have even suggested submitting my apps without new Gmat score...I can submit my Gmat score at a later date...Gives confidence that Ivey has probably liked my profile..
Also got a call from IIMB-for 1 yr EPGP program- had used my old Gmat score of 640
Hi, Has any one received interview calls after submitting in 1st round? @catastrope 750 gmat,6 yrs in IT,NIT passout of 2003 Post Mba Goal:IT consulting...:)

RC150,
Nice GMAT score. Very impressive. Even though the GMAT score alone will not get you in, that score with you 6 year work ex. should def. get you a spot. Congratulations one more time!!!:)
I'm also applying in R2, but have a query. Any body did his/her graduation from UPTU, just want to know regarding the transcripts and GPA conversion. I have 8 marksheets for VIII semesters and a degree. Is that what is meant by transcript or is it something different. Also how is the GPA conversion for UPTU? I was from ECE branch and scored ~71% and was within top 15%. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Transcripts usually contain consolidated marks from all your semesters, your overall gpa/percentage and maybe a legend to help the reader understand them.
