Hi Ashna,

SDA is reputed in Europe and if you see their recrutiment statistics, all of the major consulting firms recruit from there.

Plus, you will get some scholarship definitely, did you have an interview with SDA? I did have a pre application interview with SDA a couple of days back.

Ok.I did. Mine too was a pre application interview. So wats your profile like?

Lol, you are really spying on competition dudette!

GMAT - 710
5 years of experience in strategy and business development with a thrust on e governance projects and non profits, 3+ years are managerial experience.
Co Founder of a NGO, volunteer at a couple of more and good EC's

My interview went quite well, i guess you met Francesca, right?

Well I am not spying...was just curious 😃 ..... trying to judge my profile against others.

And you have a great profile so to say!
Yeah even I was interviewed by Francesca Roveda. My interview went okay. Now waiting for the results 😃

Just kidding, i am sure you will get substantial scholarship. All the best 😃

Thanks and all the best to you too 😃

Hey Puys

I had my interview today with one of the adcom lady who is on tour around the world.

She was very nice and helpful contacted me before hand.

I have a different profile and was asked the standard questions as in

Why Ivey?
Why MBA at this time
3 adjectives to tell about your strength
How do u gel with your team mates
how do u tackle the leadership positions
Who among your colleagues do you admire the most and why?
Who among your seniors do you admire and why?
What will u bring with you to Ivey?
How do you describe yourself as a leader?give examples
Your extracurricular are exceptional, How do you manage these now?(Though i did in my college only.. so told her flatly)
What are your short term and long term goals? What research have you done till now to tackle these goals? Why havent u achieved these goals till now?

My interview went on for nearly an hour or so...
And am scared, as if i have spoken too much and there was lot of substance what i talked about but again the content was there in snippets as i had lot to tell but less time and she had less patience....
i did use a lot of analogies and lot of examples to simulate and make her understand(simple ones include: my experience with my team members is like "I have to be a hand to hold them together in team, as all team members are like fingers with different perspective and skill set")

Please help... I haven't come across any post which has had interview experience so exhaustive.

Am i good or i have really screwed up??

PLSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

Godbole,
Don't worry about the "exhaustiveness" of the interview, that's expected, if at all, take it positively that she spend a lot of time trying to evaluate you and you kept her engaged for an hour. I am guessing you must have had a good amount of experience and a good amount of leadership experience at that so she must have tried to go deep and wide into it. Cheer up and hope for the best!

Also, can you share your profile ?

gpm
660, Indian IT Male
9 years total wex, 6 years int'l wex.
Low on ECs

Hi GPM,

Thanks for words of solace. I am also hoping for the best. And one more thing i forgot to mention who want to take cue from my experience. This was a face to face interview.

And she was too keen for me to understand that its a case based study. So boy get buckled up.

And i did cross question her that how do i fit into the school. She did answer but nothing satisfactory.

My profile is very very unusual
Low GMAT 640
One of the leading consulting firms in India
B.Pharm- Average
Work Ex. 3.5 years
Ex Curricular - Extraordinarily strong- worked in rural and urban settings for community service
Other EC- Done a lot of stuff in office.
Leadership- Nothing on paper but am project lead for most of projects- with team ranging from 4-5 and projects are across various sectors- Automobile to Media to anything and everything.

So, this is my sorry state....

Hey Godbole,

I think the fact that you had an interview that laste4d 1 hour (which is on the longer end) is a good thing. Mine was a phone interview and lasted about 45 minutes. I was also only asked bout 7 questions, compared to the 12 or so you were asked. It was very conversational, which is why I think she did not get a lot of questions in (seemed like she wanted to ask more but was running short on time). I also asked her about 3 or 4 questions in the end that took up some time..

all in all, your experience (from simply reading what you wrote), seems pretty positive to me and the fact it was long means she was interested in your profile.

Best of LUCK!

Hi Tdadic,

Thanks for your info, It did help but ultimately what had to happen it happened.

I m sad because the answers weren't structured as i wanted them to be.

It was my first interview with any college. Although i answered confidently whatever i answered. But i don't know, I guess i m being a lot confused lately.

I ll just stop thinking. Just keep my fingers crossed... Hoping for the best

Any other interview experience....
Please share. and what schools anyone applying in the same league as ivey and any suggestions based on my profile where else to apply

My interview lasted about 40 minutes, including 10 minutes Q&A.; Basically, they have a question list to follow, once all questions are answered, then conversation ends.

Hey,

For those on here wondering whats is included in the acceptance package (I saw the question asked many times on here), I received it yesterday. It is basically a package with 4 documents. You get a letter that congratulates you and explains how you passed the application process. The 2nd is a document that explains the next steps...deposit amount (5000, due by april 2010 for me), total cost of tuition (64,000 for Canadian,74,000 for international), and explains how to set up a profile on ezone and start communicating with future ivey students. The 3rd is the official form that you accept the offer and pledge to a certain code of ethics they have outlined. This is the form you mail back to them with your deposit.

The final document explains how you can obtain financing throught OSAP or Canadian banks.

And for those asking if there are any stipulations regarding derferred 2011 admissions, there are none. Even if you get an offer for 2011, it is a firm offer and you are not required to work the full year and can definitley travel if you wish. But you should use this time for some career progression to better your position post-MBA. But a nice long vacation before the program starts would be nice :)

If anyone has any other question of anything, let me know.

how many weeks after your interview did you get the result? i was interviewed on 25th Nov and am wondering when will i hear back...

Congratulations man! you did well 😃

How soon do the official transcripts need to reach Ivey after the application has been submitted. In my case I have attended the interview based on the transcripts that I had emailed, but my university transcripts have still not been dispatched. Any views on this?

hey Damroo,

I dont know much in detail about it but if you talk to laurie johnston at the admission office and tell her about the situation and provide any documentary document stating when the degree would be released(most probably before the course commencement) Then i think it will hold good for you.

Hope this info helps.

Hi Guys,

I was informed by email today that I have been waitlisted. More months of waiting to follow but I just hope that a decision will be made sometime in Jan (after R2 decision dates) otherwise its quite difficult for us international students to wrap up things and move to another continent on a short notice.

Anybody here who has successfully converted a wait into an admit?

I just went through this thread once more and saw only bobby24in on the waiting list. Any others?

Tomorrow is the big day for Round 1 applicants, I guess. All the very best!

ciao.
