I have been a silent follower of this thread for quite some time. I had been waitlisted at Ivey Rd2. I have just sent my mail to the Adcom, asking them to take me off the waitlist since i would not be joining Ivey. Got admission into cornell with some scholarship so would be pursuing that.
I just have a feeling that Ivey's quota of Indian applicants is already full Thats why they are placing virtually everybody in the waitlist Otherwise profiles like bpr, bobby etc deserve an admit i think.
I guess the waitlist was because i applied in R2, which is quite late for Ivey. By that time i think Ivey had already admitted a lot of international students.
But dont give up, if ur on waitlist. See if u can give some updates to the Adcom on ur application during this period and also indicate your continuing interest in their program.

All the best to u all.
I too have been waitlisted. What in your opinion should one's strategy be while giving updates? It would look odd, if I casually drop an email.
Normally the waitlist strategy would depend on the individual schools. But generally, the following steps can be taken by waitlist candidates
1) Send a e-mail to Adcom indicating ur interest in their program and that you would accept and join the school without fail, if admitted 2) Since ivey has not given any instructions as to how the waitlisted candidates should respond, ask the Adcom whether you can send some updates regarding your candidature for the past couple of months. 3) If the Adcom replies yes to the above, Send a waitlist cover letter with any updates which u might have, for example, promotion, NGO activity, correspondence with Ivey students or alumni and also about how these updates make you a better fit to the Ivey school culture.
Do send the waitlist letter only if there are genuine updates, or else just sit tight. Its better that way rather than sending a lot of e-mails to Adcom without anything substantial to add to the application. It can be negative too.
4) Also ask the Adcom, if they are open to the idea of receiving an additional recommendation. Try to see if you can get a recommendation, from someone who can add to ur application from a different angle.

I hope this helps.
Thanks. That was really helpful. I'll probably drop an email soon.

my only worry is if they dont reply by feb mid then it will be difficult to arrange for loan... The classes are going to start in may and the prep classes will start in march,....
for those that were dinged, do you mind posting your stats? I'm planning to go for the final round but am now wondering if it's worth it. I'm Indian IT male.
In spite of having a cool 5k schol, I am just wondering what made u choose NUS over Queens....
Can u pour in ur views..coz i have an admit from Queens n Schulich and got to decide pretty soon
cheers
Sorry for the late response Mainly it was because of the cost factor and other thing was that I have very less exp arnd 4 whereas other Indian janta have exp more than 8 years. Moreover there are very few employment opportunities in Canada. and queens placement stats are not very encouraging either So NUS seemed to me a safer option
