For WBUT it's (DGPA-0.75)*10

If I am not wrong JU has some definite percentage conversion criteria....As I am not a JU student I can't exactly tell you by how much percent/point DGPA is reduced..but many of my JU friends did convert their DGPA into percentages(which was less than DGPA*10)...senior JU students can throw some light regarding this matter......

@papainandy said:As an ex-student of JU, let me take the liberty of answering your queryThere is no standard deduction done from our CGPA's to get percentages. As all of you will agree, SGPA isn't really the true indicator of your marks . Percentage is. So in JU, the percentage is calculated just as they should be - the exact marks of all the subjects of all the semesters are considered to calculate the percentage. And it is explicitly mentioned in our degree certificates. So, no ambiguity about it
@Anirban9 said:What i know as a JU student, we have to give our DGPA*10 only if we are final year students like I'm but if u r a passout then you have to give the percentage that is written in your final Grade Cards....That is what known to me....Am i going wrong somewhere?

@papainandy said:Bang on buddyIn your final year at JU, you are entitled to calculate the linear average of your SGPA's and multiply by 10 to arrive at the percentage. When you pass out, you don't really have a choice as the percentage's are specifically mentioned in the degree certificates .BTW, are you from JU?? Your name and Department??
Yup, I'm from JU, final year, Chemical Engg.
All I can say regarding those who are studying in JU(final year) currently:
@DEBJITNAG said: All I can say regarding those who are studying in JU(final year) currently:CGPA/percentage- "sob i maya" (you can realize the significance of this idiom only after your 8th semester result comes out)And if you have a CGPA around 8.5/8.6, BEWARE!!CAT-'12 is probably your best realistic chance of getting some elusive IIM calls like S/B/A.....

@Anirban9 said:have even worse. 8.32 till now. scoring is very difficult in our dept. (unlike ETC, CSE & Instru) & it gets even more difficult if you realize "you certainly don't belong to this department"
