Kolkata CAT 2012 Study Group

Theres a lot queries about test series here. People who havent joined yet and want to go for only 1.

Go 4 time:- There are still 14 tests remaining. You will get an All india percentile + student base is huge. Aimcat 15- 21k particiapted

Cl only 6 tests are left and the no of test takers are very low. about 5k and you can always get the pdf from someone.

souvik, for a first timer u are truly an inspiration. U have given us the example that it doesnt always take 3-4 mock seasons to acquire such mind boggling scores.....have followed ur scores always... know some things about u too..

Chill...two years is still a lot of time....but if you do want to start...I would suggest solve a CAT paper or two....preferably 2006, 2007....dont worry if you get horrendous scores....analyse where you are weak..and start working on it....
Hello Puys,

Joined this group today.....
Studying in T.I.M.E
With AIMCATS and CL Proc/Unproc
Class 10 : 87.25%
Class 12 : 78.9%
Engineering : DGPA-8.71
Work Ex-2.5 years

I am in a fix.....please help me solve the problem.
While filling forms for NMAT and IIFT I came across this problem.
In percentage of graduation what should I give my DGPA*10 or (DGPA-0.75)*10
In the former case I will be having 87.1%(which looks decent) and later case 79.6%(which is not so decent)..................
Many seniors are of the opinion to give the 1st case as 2nd case is not explicitly stated anywhere but many seniors opined 1st case can attract penalty if caught(though not a serious offense).
Please give valuable inputs so that I can fill up the forms.

Thanks and Regards//

HELP !!

Hey frnds...this is the first time I'm appearing 4 cat.I dnt have time to go 4 ne coaching classes as I'm working in a IT company. So,I've collected previous years MOCK TEST PAPERS from TIME IMS CL & few study materials.
While solving these papers,I'm ABLE TO SOLVE ONLY AROUND 33-36 OUT OF 60....AMONG THEM ONLY 22-25 COMES OUT TO B CORRECT.
But I'm not able to fetch ne info regarding where do I stand in my preparation. So if anyone appearing for any mock tests ,plz mention HOW MANY DID U ATTEMPT,HOW MANY OF THEM WERE RIGHT/WRONG.Or if u have ne idea about how much do we need to solve for getting good percentile, then reply...

plzzz sugest me some colleges for mba in WB

Swayambhu, I guess Allan has already answered your query...

Priyanka, calculate your percentage considering all subjects, including your optional elective...if not mentioned otherwise...and for %, DGPA*10 is what most people do...

perthchat....search the previous PG mock threads by the test number...you'll get to know the marks of most people who actually appeared for the test....but 35 attempts is a bit low in a standard paper if u ask me...try attempting more...

@[509175:S.K.S] Actually in West Bengal University there is a hidden rule of calculating Percentage = (DGPA-0.75)*10......so any guys from WBUT or any of your friends have any idea regarding this percentage conversion......some are of the opinion of DGPA*10 and some of (DGPA-0.75)*10.

SO @[509175:S.K.S] are you from WBUT or any of your friend who can help us solving this mystery.
