Its wid a heavy heart tht i write this post...yes...i said good-bye to BIM a couple of days ago :(...cant believe its the end of an era...brings to an end 20 years of formal education...the last 2 years have been unadulterated fun!...missing all those long walks wid frnds, classes, cribbin abt the food yet hogging in the mess, those late nite sports events, Kalaicom's events, sitting outside om shree n chattin, ip wars, all those movie times, all those trips out of bim.....
Most of all i miss my gang of frnds - the enlightened gals club, my roomies in the cocoon i.e N3/68, the TBTC gang, the mangilal grp ....We rock guys!!!
Missin quite a few juniors as well..especially the guys in PRCOM n Zetetica...
Thanks to all those ppl who made Life@BIM sooo memorable....
To all the BIM27 guys - make use of last yr in bim...these golden days wil nevr return...good luck! :)
As for my batchmates -- All the best n have a great life ahead BIM26....will miss u all.... The most beautiful thing is that we're all not parting because there were problems. We're parting because we're celebrating each others' growth. 😃 au revoir!!
Time for summers. For most of us it starts on 18th. Just around a week's holiday between conclusion of academics and start of interns, but I'm not complaining. Will be putting myself in the shoes of my good friend lily007, patiently answering aspirants' queries, keeping track of waitlists,etc. while doing my summers.Life is Beautiful.
what about vacations in bim trichy? how many holidays in a yr. I live in Calcutta, so just enquiring. I have heard B-Schools dont give many holidays, so..

There are generally 10 days of hols between trimesters.People from Bengal go to Chennai first from where they catch a flight or the Chennai-Howrah express.

(1) Hostels are Type 2 quarters consisting of 2 bedrooms,a hall,a kitchen,a bathroom and a washing area. You are not allowed to come in or go out after 10PM though exceptional circumstances such as leaving for home in an emergency are permitted.
(2) There will be four people in a room, two per bedroom.You can always shift your bed to the hall if you desire privacy.
(3) All rooms have 4 LAN ports. LAN cables will be provided there. You only need to bring you laptops and connect them.
(4) ATMs are available in BHEL Township which is 5 km from the hostels. There's SBI,ICICI and HDFC ATMs. On the way to Trichy city,7km from campus,there is an Axis Bank ATM. If you want to bring your bike or car for commuting purpose,you can do so. The hostel and college are located 5 kms inside BHEL factory premises.
i hv been to bim for my gd pi.. looks like its too isolated... im not complaining.. just want to know like how the students are adjusting.. like say for example u need some stationary items, are there any shops???... canteen?? is the canteen really good?? i mean all types of snacks?? top up cards?? does any good hotels do door delivery to bim since its isolated???
im sorry if im asking too many unncesarry queries... all education related and sports related info has already been shared in the previous pages.. thats y asking abt these...

You seem to be much worried about the access to your basic needs 😃 Chill...
There is a stores inside the hostel, which will sell stationary items as well as snacks, juice, cool drinks etc. You will get top cards too.
There are some restaurants that will do delivery to our hostel.

To add to Haareesh's points, there is a mess committee constituted of students and does all the decision making related to the food menu. The menu is designed in such a way as to cater to the needs of students from all parts of the country. If you have any issues with it, you can raise it with the committee members and it will be addressed.
As regards restaurants someone or the other would be going out to eat every day and you can ask them to get you a parcel.

Well, it's summers time and i'm above 3500m from sea level and around a temperature of 5C @ Bhutan... Enjoying like anything.... in the meantime , i have to do lot of work to simultaneously ... A nice 2 months "cool" vacation in the name of "Summer" intern

Good to see an alumna recounting her life and times at BIM :)
Went to campus last week. Some renovation work going on in MHD. Faculty rooms and classrooms being spruced up. Hostels are still the same, contrary to popular expectation of tiles being laid in hostel rooms. Less than a month to go before classes begin and my internship is likely to be extended till end of this month. Can't wait to get back to campus.
Most of our summers are coming to an end . . cant wait to get back ta college 😃

Sorry for the month-long delay in responding. There is no basketball court but Sports committee is exploring the feasibility of including one.
