itna ganda clas structure...wat the faculty wants yaar?these 2 yrs gonna hard for me as in engg time i nvr did assignments n projects ..
dnt knw what will happen at fore...

As mentioned by prateekp.89 and prady87, orientation classes were over yesterday and 1st trimester kicked off today. And what a grand kick off it has been. First day we had 4 sessions, and I found out that sitting in sessions of 1.5 hrs is very tiring, and that too after having not seen books for last 2.5 yrs!!

We had MANAC (Managerial Accounting), HBO (Home Box Office!! :-P 😉 Wish it was that but unfortunately its Human Behaviour in Organization), MM-1 (Marketing Mgmt) and ME (Managerial Economics). And the room we sit in big time!! AC does not work properly and acoustics is all pathetic bcoz of the fans running at such high speeds. If one is late for class then you're done in as you'll get last seats and would be barely able to hear anything.

I was all sleepy and drooping in the afternoon session (HBO and MM) 😞 but MM looks to have us on our toes always and like Ma'am said, "happy weekends" with a/an case study/assignment/presentation/quiz etc to prepare always. From day one ME seemed to be boring and story telling, and for me it has lived up to its expectations as of now. Dunno how it is for others.

Meanwhile we have class representatives selected and groups of 6 formed for the group assignments and projects in each paper.

So thats the news with term beginning and classes going to be in full swing from now on. Yet lots of other activities and committees/groups to be selected and activities kicked off. Waiting for a few of them :lookround: to make life lively coz as of now with just studies, assignments, project, quiz, exams and what not in mind it looks so boring.

Finally summer internship ppt done today. relieved
Again into red zone of assignments and presentations

there was a seminar arranged by Entrepreneurship cell today as well as on coming Monday. A gud session I must say...

Meanwhile GD PI for various college committees will start from coming Wednesday. So I am also gearing for my committee i.e FOREtech

Hope to see some kaam karne wale juniors in my committee

hi pagal junta...

this is my 1st post on life@fore , but one thing i must say that the college environment here is awesome. Everything here, from faculty to library, is worth the hard work we did to get into a good B-school.

anyway, till now we are done with our orientation classes and are gearing up for the grueling schedule ahead of term 1.

classes are going @ fairly manageable pace but assignments and case studies are eating up all the time.

It was a nice, informative and interactive session A lot of gr8 examples on innovation and how the IT is changing the shape of innovation now a days. A very enriching experience 😃

Cool..This thread has become so active now!! :cheerio:

Anyways we have the GD/interviews for the different student committees like Antar, Nexus, FORE Career Division, ThinkTank, Corporate Interaction Division, FORETech, FORE Sports Division, FOREword, FORE Branding Cell, FORE Economic Forum etc kicking off tomorrow evening. It'll continue till Saturday. Each one of us were supposed to give 3 preferences yesterday through an online form, from which the members will be selected.

As far as studies, assignments, presentations are concerned, we have at least 1 on an average everyday these days. Feels so great to think that the weekend is near. Need to catch up on some peaceful forty winks!! (I do catch up on it in class but then to wake up in a few seconds). HR, Economics and IT are so boring that one can sleep anytime of the day and thats when I take a few shut eyes. Accounting worries have been put to rest as we've got Vandana Ma'am teaching us so systematically and making it so simple that any layman can understand. Communication classes have more or less become like a movie hall, with all lights being switched off for the slides, lots of jokes and laughter, and hell lotta noise. Serious studies also happen but in the fun way. DMM classes are probably the most active, with people busily scribbling away at one problem or the other in a race to be the first to finish. 😃 Marketing concepts are being approached at on case study basis and with hands shooting up in all directions to get an opportunity to speak each individual has his/her ideas/views to share.

In the meanwhile, we have our freshers coming up on 17th July. The preparations have started from yesterday. Nexus team - Varun bhai, Akash bhai and Harshita Ma'am from the seniors are in full action briefing us on what to do and what not. Final plans and schedule to be made over next week, while some groups have already started practice for dance, skits etc. The only sad part 😞 is that whole program would be for around 2-3 hours only. Anyways waiting expectantly for the first party at college.

That's all for now. Adiyos.

Selection process of all committees took off today
request all juniors to put their comments and updates about the selection process

finaly 3rd weekend at fore...bt so mch work for sat n sunday..having marketing n economics quiz on monday..n 5 clases of 15 hr ech on monday..bachhe ki jaan lene ka poora irada hai 😞 ..
A great environment here for learning, fun evrything..gt sum gud frnds also.
anyways as told in above post various g.d.,interview,auditions started for committees..i also applied for FORETECH, ANTAR & FOREWORD..

n senior r guiding us...

Reporting back after my previous post with updates on the interviews for the various committees..

I had applied for FORE Career Division (FCD), Antar (Social responsibilty), NEXUS (Cultural activities team). The interviews for first two were today and third one is tomorrow in the evening.

Antar selection process was at 5pm and had a GD. Topic for our group of 8 ppl was "Honesty in small things is not a small thing". The GD was not a fish market and went well with each one of us putting in his/her viewpoints though 1-2 didn't speak at all!! I guess I put in 1-2 points and finally each one of us had to speak for 1 minute on extra ideas if any. I was questioned on a particular point abt taking credit for some work which one has done with someone else where in the other person has put max inputs. But then I guess I was able to answer satisfactorily.

Next was FCD at 6. Around 55 had applied and I think around 48 ppl came. First we were briefed on what the committee activities involved and what qualities they were looking for. After that the long wait for the process. Since me and few others didnt have any other process scheduled for the day, we were made to wait till the end. 😞 And it was so damn hot outside. I was sweating so much that for a moment I thought I wud have some dehydration. But anyways after the long wait we finally went in. First was self intro's and in between we were cut short and asked what someone else had just said to test our listening skills. Then the GD on "B-schools are just glorified placement houses". There was this guy who was stopping everyone else from speaking to make his point but then finally he was stammering and finding it tough to put his thoughts into words. After some time it got a bit irritating but the GD went on. I was able to speak only 1-2 sentences :banghead: 😞 Then we were split into 2 groups of 4 and 3 and 1 moderator and asked to speak for and against the topic. After 1-2 minutes one of the seniors took charge as moderator and we were asked to switch stances and continue. Again we spoke for 1-2 minutes. That was all.

Now there would be further round(s) tomorrow for both. Waiting for the lists for that. NEXUS process is scheduled at 4.20PM for me. Will have to wait and see what happens. Hope I can get into one of these committees.

we are having a hectic schedule with back 2 back classes and then attending process of various committees that we applied for..

feeling the meaning of the line - "welcome to MBA"..

the interviews and gd pi for various committees are on its last stage, hoping to see our junior committee members by next week..

this part of my life @ fore is called - dimag ki dahi...
(no pun intended)
everything going around in the college campus is filled with air of our freshers party, which is going to be held on 17/7.

but before we could enjoy, we are given a mentor menty form, in which we have to gather information about our respective mentor.

and the dictate is that - no one will be allowed in party without the filled form...

but 1 thing is sure, it will increase the amount of interaction between us and seniors. and that will be better for us only.

the scene at college is like this -

whenever the class gets over or whenever someone is free, all have only one thing in mind...

mentor - mentee form...

its so much fun to see our canteen and pentagon filled up with seniors and juniors, all enjoying this process.. there's so much laughter, jokes played on each other, interaction and all...i was wondering whether i would be able to fill my form..but as i told the seniors about my mentor's name, they become extra energetic to fill my form...thnx to shruti mam, madhur sir n all(sorry,i am missing some name)...the best part was when my mentor saw the form...she just didn't accepted it, so i had to fill 2 more forms...

but really liked this concept, and the end results are, beside knowing about my mentor, now i know about many seniors who are also from the same city as i am...

Freshers Party at college was organized today
some very good performances by juniors as well as seniors. I think juniors can post the details in a much better way than I can

I was also there. Enjoyed a lot I must say

After the lovely fresher's night yesterday,we had a session of Cricket @Sanjay Van today morning at 7.It was juniors versus seniors. It was my first cricketing experience at FORE and was great fun.Had paneer parathas at breakfast after that.:o
Got cramps all over my body now and also plenty of homework to do . Its gonna be quite a hectic Sunday and a grueling week coming up after that.

at-last we had our freshers' party last night.. it was awesome, all thanks to our seniors and team nexus for organizing such an energetic event..

the event started with some great performance by our colleagues which included a skit, then some nice solo song performance by ishan
(he sung the song both sidha and ulta , rare talent) and shirshendu (he sung tumse hi, nice performance)..

after the solo dance by chitwan we had the 1st round for mr & ms freshers (nominations were there and participants introduced themselves in a weird manner)

now we had one of the best by our seniors... the baba group including shashank sir, sankalp sir and shashi sir... it was hilarious at its limit... now we understand the concepts of management better...alakh niranjan...

n now comes all the energy - rock band.. just one word for them - they rock... fodu performance

now came the 2nd round of mr and ms freshers - every participant proposed their gender counterpart..

then there was a group dance by our batchmates kashish, ankit and all... followed by baba group again (and they made us laugh again)...

finally the final round was there and participants had to give answers to the asked question... and finally we got Mr. and Ms. Fresher 2010..

then a gr8 performance by bhangra group, which filled the atmosphere with lots and lots of electrifying energy...

at-last dj at sunken garden made us dance like hell...

again thanks to our seniors...

hello all...
as told above we got our fresher party yesterday.it was awesum..thnku seniors for such a gr8 party
freshers startd wid a skit followed some singing and dancing..
bt the best performance was by our seniors BABA group...
