Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma (Santoor) and Pandit Ram Kumar Mishra (Tabla) 2 legends of classical music. A must listen for all I would say.
Today they graced our college with their presence and filled our ears and heart with music.. The Pahadi and Bheempalasi raag he rendered on the Santoor took our hearts and minds away to a different world, filled with music and music only.
First time for me in a live concert and I enjoyed it to the core. I feel like listening to it 24x7 and I am motivated to listen to classical music again which is a long forgotten past time of mine.
As Panditji rightly said, in todays fast moving world where money is everything and when one is always under stress, music is the only way by which can soothe our minds. Just like we run around a ground to build stamina, to build the mind and to relieve it of the immense stress musis is one of the best options.
And like my friend quotes in FB "..could feel the Vetesta, the Dal and the Wular flowing out of his hands....Pdt. Shiv kr. Sharma is a magician...pahadi and bheempalasi were heavenly..."
Thanks to SPIC MACAY (Society for Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth) and of course the FCD team for arranging this awesome opportunity.
Filled with the happiness of listening to the awesome concert, forgot to mention other things.
Logging into PG after long time. Been busy with lots of things and missed posting many happenings here.
Mid term exams over, went back home for 3-4 days during Raksha Bandhan. After that been busy gearing up for end term exams. No, not studies if you're thinking that. Assignments, projects, reports etc and stress relievers like gaming (spent 2 days continuous in front of the laptop playing strategy games!!!)
Had the first event by our committee, TEAM ANTAR on Tuesday 31st August. An AIDS awareness talk show in which 4 people from TCS came to enlighten us. The most active session that has happened here, compared to sleepy Anubhuti and "Confluence" sessions by CID team. Now we have 2-3 other events lined up over the next 2 months. Hoping to make it better next time.
Went to ISKCON temple yesterday on Janmashtami. First temple visit here at Delhi. It was a different kind of experience. Down south people go to temples, pray silently and leave silently. Here it was dancing, singing and chanting at the top of your voice.
Meanwhile common cold, fever, dengue, malaria, typhoid etc on the run here. At least 5-10 down, here at hostel, with one or the other of the above illness. 😞 😞 Hope I don't fall down sick. :lookround:
More updates later. This post is already so big and filled up with so many details of the past 2 weeks!! Adiyos
One more update. Just one more for now..I promise..
We have our thanksgiving (treat from juniors to seniors) party tomorrow evening at Vatika Gardens, Gurgaon from 8PM onwards. Hoping to have a good time with friends and seniors.
Next week is the last week of term 1 classes!! End term starts from 13th September. 😞 :-(
That makes it 2 updates. Bye for now. Be back with more updates later.
Today we have a thanks giving party for seniors. Its gonna be a huge bash. But me down with fever, stuck in my room for the past three days. On the 3rd of September Fore(FSD) invited Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma in association with SpicMacay. We were mesmerized by an awesome performance. End terms are coming up from 13th. Last week of classes for first trimester!!!!!
Admission notification for the batch 2011-13 is out. I have created a new thread to resolve the admission queries of our juniors. The link for the same is
Took a welcome break by visiting Nainitaal around 300kms from Delhi. Went Friday evening and came back Monday morning. Awesome climate and awesome place. Had a great time clicking pictures and enjoying the cold winds.
Back to hostel rejuvenated and all ready for second trimester which kicked off today. Had just one class today. Papers look so boring compared to last trimester..All theory.. :-(
Exams are going on...2 papers done and 6 more to go :-( Kal Business Strategy ka paper hai jiska strategy abhi baith ke bana raha hu Meanwhile junoirs are back in campus with a bang...full time masti kar rahe hai sare aur hamari lagi padi hai
Went to Nainital for the 3 day break after term 1. Last minute planning and just 3 of us. A wet, soggy, cold time at Nainital. Stuck in hotel room watching 3 movies back to back on 1st day!! Climate improved on 2nd day so got to go around a bit and click a few pics.
Back to Delhi and 2nd trimester has started off in full swing. Papers look interesting and more to my liking. More numerical papers this time.
Operations Management Corporate Finance Management Accounting II Macro Economics Business Statistics Marketing Management II Networking and Internet Technology (NIT) Human Resource Management (Though I might probably opt for HR as a minor specialization, I hate theory!)
5 numerical papers! 😃 and 1 interesting paper, NIT, out of the rest 3. The expectations are high!
Adding to it everyone has become more conscious about studies after 1st term exams. Summer placements round the corner now. So all the more reasons to study!!
Assignments, case studies etc have also become slightly tougher I believe with more of practical approach compared to the mugging up and bakar we could write in 1st term. So a busy and tight schedule up ahead.
having a sort of break from the usual schedule of FSM, thanks to CWG'10. but got a lot of work, business trip, alumni meet, and back2back classes on the other side.
with CAT 10 hovering around, this year hope so, prometric will don't do the same silly mistakes that it did. anyway, to all the aspirants, do prepare a lot about the subjects but keep this in mind that you will pass this exam with your aptitude but you will survive this management program with lots of attitude also..
Wat about the corporate sponsored prog of FSM and wat is the fee structure for corporate sponsored & self sponsored prog...? What is the charges for the hostel accommodation, is it compulsory?
Also what is the difference btwn corp sponsored and the self sponsored admissions...?

Once again the projects and assignments in this trim has started : Phir se wohi purani schedule...AMR ke project me to lagi padi hai...survey ka koi response to deta nahi hai : Meanwhile inter class football tournament is about to start
Hey can anyone put light on the placement figures. The website says that avg for PGDM is 6 lpa and PGDM IM is 5.5 lpa. And it doesnt contain external factors.
Does this means that the total amount is in hand. Meaning aroung 45-50 k pm in hand. Seniors and pass out pleas put light on this. Currently I am earning 30k in hand with 1.5 yrs experience. Seeing this, will it be a good ROI to join fore or should I target upper colleges?
