LIFE@ FORE School Of Management

Classes over now...Just the project presentation and term end exams are remaining. Presentation on 14th and exams from 21st to 24th. So I ll be officially an MBA grad on 24th
Had a rocking party last night...full of masti and :drinking:Last party of our MBA course so enjoyed it at fullest
Offer letter hasn't come yet so don't know to which city I would be heading to and when. Will keep updating this space regularly though

We had a union budget 2010-11 discussion session/competition at college today.

8 teams (2 teams each from sec A, sec B, sec C and IMG) presented the key points and their views on the Union Budget 2010-11, presented by Honorable Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukherjee on 28th February 2011, and its impact on the economy and various sectors, classes of people etc.

Sec C walked away with both the prizes!! :cheerio:

Good 2 be back at PG. unfortunately lost my PG a/c. So, Wat's happening in our college ?

Ok, seems a lot of activity going on, farewell, budget discussion, competitions, exams, summer internship and most important of all its time for GD/PI of new batch. It feels very nostalgic to see all those aspiring students sitting in pragya hall, waiting for there turn to com, that anxiety, that nervousness, but they'll make it. wishing them a gud luck, hope 2 c a good batch among us.

Assignment ne to pura bheja fry kar diya hai... corp fin me ab modigliani - miller bhi nahi bacha sakte...

Racking our brains and bending our back over Corporate Finance, Market Research, Operations Management projects and PPTs. Also many others.

Busy week

Exams also coming up on 25th March. So all the more busy.

weeks ahead.

But then for the first time after coming here feels like I'm doing something worthwhile and I'm learning something!!!

We have to give tentative list of intended elective papers for the next 3 trimesters on Wednesday. So have to give a thought on that also. Thinking of Ops...and then Mark/Fin/IT/HR. Not yet decided on whether to go for dual by having minor specialization or just take interesting papers spread across all the 4. Will decide once specific elective papers are known.

exams are starting from tomo for us. But on one is serious
Mine papers are from Monday...4 papers and 4 days
Would be leaving for my home town the very next day. Joining dated of many companies have started coming now...m waiting for the mine one. Hope it comes before I leave for home.

finished all my project and presentation for 1st year, nw only end term remaining... feeing kinda relaxed, that was a one helluva year... pheeww

We have been given all the elective courses available for the next year.

Everywhere you see in the campus or hostel, there will be some huddle discussing with seniors on which electives to take. Some are also going personally to the faculty to understand what's there in each paper.

And finally I've decided  on what its gonna be for me - Ops + HR.

We have to choose electives to satisfy 13.5 credits. Minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 in 2 areas of specialization (If one wants 2 specializations. Else it can also be 4-6 papers in one area). Other than that maximum 3 papers in any area.

Only 2 courses in half credit. One in Fin (behavioral finance) and other is Corporate Governance. BIG :nono: for any papers in Fin for me.

So my final split stands as 6 in Ops, 4 in HR, 2 in Marketing, 1 in IT and the half credit Corporate Governance, making a total of the required 13.5 credits.

Mark and Fin as usual has many takers. Good number of people in HR also this time for a change. Ops also more than usual. So expecting good mix for the whole batch and placements in wide and diverse profiles/sectors for all.

Holi was celebrated in a grand style in the hostel...ppl were enjoying it like anything...last holi of the student life
And sadly I couldn't play Holi as I was down with fever and having exams from tomo....decided not take risk

SO the last battle of MBA begins tomo

1 down and 3 more to go
We celebrated scribble day today in the college. Mast maja aaya logo ki shirt/tees pe mast wale comments likhne me...A day to remember
Ab thoda pad leta hu...baki papers me bhi to pass hona hai :lookround:

Seniors have left completing their final 2 years of college life (for majority). Some got emotional while others looked more than happy!

Hostel has become almost empty and it looks sort of deserted. 😞 Just us 1st years and we are also bending our backs on books and laptops. The party vibes and jolly atmosphere missing.. 😞 :(

Its also last few days for us before we step into the corporate world for our internships. For now exam fever is on. Burning the midnight oil for 3rd trimester end term exams, 2 down..8 more to go..

Have exams till Thursday. Thursday's exam is going to be a big "hit and run" considering the fact that India-Pak semifinals is on Wednesday.

T4I reporting from home now
College over now...have come at home..my joining is in June so a lot of time to spent with my family
Although a long time but its ok. Who knows after going back to corporate life wen ll I get so much of time to spend at home. So happy about it.
The least I can say now is I am missing college and hostel. No more bunking and running for assignments now...those fights among our grp members during our presentations. Who ll give the intro and conclusion :lookround:
The journey of MBA has come to end but with memories which will be cherished for life. Hostel will be missed more than college
Will be here on this thread for sometime provided no one objects from omur juniors
I guess exams of juniors are getting over on 31st. After that they all would be heading for their summers. Wishing them all the very best. Take most of this 2 months. it will help a lot during your final placements.
Will keep updating regularly about the life after college and before joining the company

Is this an April fool prank or what. Govt announces 21 new IIMs, to become operational in next three years. As it is there is a shortage of directors, where are they going to find 21 more directors, leave alone faculty?

no it's not. these inst are there to come up..

Enjoying the welcome break after 1st year...a very hectic 3rd trimester comes to an end..so does the first year of MBA. All not going as per expectations. Marks, activities, value addition... Basically I myself am to be blamed for my complacency and easy going attitude. But thankfully still got time to rejuvenate and recoup

For the time being its end of college days for a short time and time to experience the X factor!! The real world out there.. The corporate world.. Its time for summer internship for 6-8 weeks.

My joining date is on Monday, 11th April. I've got an Operations profile in an Australian company. Summer placements were good this time with various profiles being offered in Market Research, Sales, Finance, Operations, HR etc. Average stipend has also gone high this time around because of some good offers, good brands coming in towards the end.

Many have already joined over the past 2-3 days after end term exams got over on 31st March. No serious work started as such, just getting acquainted with new surroundings I presume.

As for me, I'm enjoying sleep, TV and free time back home.
