Had same kind of feeling by this time last year. had joined on April 1st for my summers
I have some suggestions for SIP.
1. Utilize this time to learn new things. Al though some of you are already having work but believe me the work after MBA is not the same you had done before. earlier work ex will definitely help you to sail through it easily and effectively.
2. No one sill force you to do anything in the company. Neither your team lead or someone else. You might have to take the initiative and go ahead. If you want this SIP to be chilled one it may be. But remember that during your final placements it will be the most useful tool to guide your interview.
3. This will set you the platform for the kind of industries you are targeting for finals. So maximize this opportunity.
4. if you can get a PPO nothing better than that. Everything will be much easier in 2nd year as you won't have to go through the pressure of placement process.
5. Build a good relationship with your mentors either in college or in company. It will help you in long run.
I hope these suggestions will help you. Wish you the very best of luck for SIP
Enjoying the welcome break after 1st year...a very hectic 3rd trimester comes to an end..so does the first year of MBA. All not going as per expectations. Marks, activities, value addition... Basically I myself am to be blamed for my complacency and easy going attitude.![]()
But thankfully still got time to rejuvenate and recoup
![]()
For the time being its end of college days for a short time and time to experience the X factor!! The real world out there.. The corporate world.. Its time for summer internship for 6-8 weeks.![]()

My joining date is on Monday, 11th April. I've got an Operations profile in an Australian company. Summer placements were good this time with various profiles being offered in Market Research, Sales, Finance, Operations, HR etc. Average stipend has also gone high this time around because of some good offers, good brands coming in towards the end.
Many have already joined over the past 2-3 days after end term exams got over on 31st March. No serious work started as such, just getting acquainted with new surroundings I presume.
As for me, I'm enjoying sleep, TV and free time back home.![]()

No posts on this thread for a long
Lagta hai sab ke sab kuch jyada hi busy ho gaye hai summers me :lookround:
For me its eating and sleeping with some FB in between...getting super bored with this unemployment
Meanwhile 2011-13 batch ke queries se thoda timepass ho jata hai...FB pe bhi naya grp bana diya hai bachho ke liye jaha pe log queries me kam aur grp chat me jyada busy rehte hai :P
It feels nice to see our super juniors waiting to get into the campus and start the MBA journey
Nahi saar..This thread name says, Life@FORE. Abhi tho ham FORE mein hai hi nahi..tho kya post karenge?
Wapis college shuru hone do, phir ham isko bhar denge.. :)
Anyways though its not exactly life here at college, enjoying summer internships...
All have moved to various places all over India..Some here in Delhi/NCS at various places, others at Bangalore, Mumbai, Siligudi, Kerala, Vijayawada, Chennai etc!!!
Waiting for the 2 months to get over, so that all come back and we can share our experiences and have a laugh over the different happenings.
Abhi bas college shuru hone ke liye bezabri se intezaar till June 13. Bahut boring ho gaya hai without friends and the gang around.
Meanwhile junior batch first list has come, as try4it has said. Handling their queries (baap re!! bachhe kya kya nahi sochthe..tht would be easier to say I think )and also having fun getting acquainted with few of them over FB group chat. Waiting for them also to come, to officially become seniors!
Like I said in previous post, its not exactly Life@FORE, but Life@Summer Internship.
Missing college badly. Internship started off with a bang and with lots of excitement. Dream role, dream profile...This is what felt when I joined on 11th April. But it has died down gradually within 3 weeks and has reached a point where I bunked office today!!
Few regular faces here at hostel. And life here at hostel..or better said life on the whole now includes just 5 things..FB, PG, movies, more FB and even more PG!!
Waiting for 13th June for college to start to sleep in class, bunk classes, rush for assignments, projects etc!! Also waiting for 20th June when juniors will be coming in. :lookround:
Cheers!
Itna sannata kyo hai bhai log...kuch to update karo

You posted the same question in FORE School of Management Admission Queries!!

Seeing that you are new to PG, I would recommend you go through PG Visual Guide, Rules, Posting Guidelines and also use Search functionality of PG.
Welcome to PG. Have a nice time here.

First year comes to an official end!
Third trimester results have come out. Mine is bit pathetic. Got some serious disaster management to do!
So then we move on to year 2, which will kick start in less than 2 weeks time on 13th June.
Everyone running around to get their internship project reports completed before the submission deadline of 15th. Then we'll have presentations of Summer Internship Project work done. For PGDM its from 22-24. Mine is on 23rd. For PGDM-IB its on 29th.
So all set and game for round 2 of MBA!
Round 2 begins!
College has reopened since 13th and everyone is busy running around with the summer project presentations (22-24 June for FMG and 29th for IMG). Redos, bashing by the faculty, questions, and the worry of getting it over with in everyone's mind and the main discussion topic since last 2 days.
Juniors have also come in since last 1 week. A flurry of grey and white (the wrong shades! :nono:) around. Many already worried how they're going to get the 2 years done with!! (reminds me of 1 year back when I joined)
icon_cheesygrin:
Little do they realize that this is juts a trailer - the foundation course, going on now. Let the action begin and we'll see what happens!
Batch meet being planned within 1-2 weeks and then the student council committee selection processes will kick off, followed by freshers day.
Ok, this thinkanshuman from the FMG20 batch [2011-13] reporting! For me it has been a swift and hectic journey till now. With the plethora of choices available even in terms of good b schools, I think the first management lesson a student gets is making a definitive choice for a great b school. And finally deciding for Fore required great deal of calls, research and first hand experience. Well, I am going to share the requisite details post by post.
I think if you are reading this, you must be either intending to make it to Fore, must be a part of Fore or a pass-out of Fore. And I truly believe that, when I mention the brand Fore, it inspires trust and faith in all of us, primarily because of its more than 15 years of legacy and the kind of experience we've had. Such is the brand! Among top 5 b schools in Delhi since the days of its inception, you get a clear idea why the brand Fore, holds fort amongst plethora of changes happening all around in the sector.
As for the experience till now, our academic schedule began with the traditional orientation classes to equip us with the basics of all the major subjects to be covered in the coming two years. I think the teachers did a fantastic job of setting up a framework in our mind as to what we should expect in the coming academic sessions. The most fascinating thing was looking up into the faculty profile of the teacher for the day. Just to see that the teacher was 'falana, falana of falana' [ Read 35 years teaching xpnc, PhD/MBA, USA/IIMs ] .. is just amazing. It feels wonderful and responsible to be under the guidance of faculty who've been in the industry for such a long time that even an ounce of appropriate wisdom raises your thinking level to a great deal.
One of the best parts of this almost two weeks journey till now was the Entrepreneurship workshop arranged by CED this week. The panel comprised of Delhi chiefs of National Entrepreneurship Network and Tie Delhi + Three successful entrepreneurs from FORE, XL and MDI. The theme was, 'Kick-starting Entrepreneurship on the Campus'. The workshop gave great insights into the process of entrepreneurship, and trust me, none of it you can get it on any platform other than this. There are many mental blockages attached to switching to entrepreneurship and they were discussed in great detail. It was emphasized that we start our own venture in the campus itself and our Director even promised sponsoring the venture if its persuasive.
The heat has begun for the soon to happen freshers meet. We have been allotted our Fore Mail IDs and the FB groups are buzzing like anything.
The seniors have been swift and helpful as ever, primarily to integrate and explain the processes involved in the continuation of the traditions at Fore; and that actually I think is not easy, considering the fact that we have a presence of numerous shades of grey all around 😃 Kudos to their patience and faith in the fact that what they are communicating is good for the long term. And that speaks a lot about the molding I am expected to undergo in the coming here.
I'll just quickly mention, Canteen food is just AWESOME man! The Masala Dosas are even better than the ones at Sagar Ratna.
Anyways, interactions with seniors is expected to cross another level soon with the batch meet and committee selection procedures. Will update more.
After missing it for 2 months, feels great to be back in campus. Flurry of different grey shades around (juniors in uniform), expectant and worried faces. Reminds me of 1 year back.

Interaction with juniors in full swing, especially in the hostel. Juniors being called in batches of 30-40 and then seniors in batches of 10-15 interacting with them, in one room! One HELL of an interaction!

In the meantime, on campus, first event for the new batch was held. Workshop on entrepreneurship by Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) team. Heard it was great and an eye opener to many who plan to start their own ventures immediately after MBA or in the long run.
Meanwhile batch meet is planned on Tuesday, 5th July, when all the student committees and student council members will be introduced to the new batch. Then it will be a hectic schedule of selection processes, with juniros running around attending the different rounds of selection process. As for me, I'm waiting to conduct an interview for the first time in my life!

Fresher's day, a platform for the new batch to showcase their talents, is tentatively planned for Saturday, 16th July. Waiting for that also!

Be back with more updates later.

Here comes the 2nd post from an FMG-20 guy.
Almost 2 and a half weeks completed and life has entered into a different dimension! The kaleidoscopic environment has been a wonderful experience so far.
Today we had our official Batch-meet. Met some wonderful seniors, got to know about the various committees and got some tough love too but over the weeks, we have got to know how supportive they are. They all are encouraging us to become true professionals by imbibing the etiquettes and the attire of corporates/professionals and we really appreciate every type of help from them regarding everything. Looking forward to interacting more with the seniors.
The best part of FORE has been the exposure towards so so many things! Corporate interaction, entrepreneurship cell etc etc..i mean the list is so big and there is so much to learn even for the work-ex guys! There is just so much to learn!!
We have started getting used to long study hours. Now we don't feel THAT sleepy after economics lectures and are anticipating stricter schedules and deadlines in the future
In our free time we keep expressing our happiness to each other that we decided to join FORE and how it has really turned out to be a brilliant choice. No offences to other colleges but this journey so far has been nothing less than awesome. Now looking forward to the non-academic activities coming up, but before that, we have our freshers
Nice to see so much of happenings
I hope my super junior batch is enjoying every bit of, probably, their last college life. I request you all to post regularly on this thread. It tells alumni like us abt the current happenings at college.
I ll sneak in from time to time ( and hope u ppl wont mind it) 😉

Back after a long time in PG!
Been busy with 2nd year. Now don't misunderstand. I didnt mean studies...I just meant sleeping..the sole purpose of my existence!!
Committee selection procedures ar eover. 5 days of running around for us in selecting and shortlisting and 5 days of toil and grand welcome to MBA for the juniors!! ;)
Classes from morning 9.30AM-6PM and then committee selection procedurs till 8.30-9PM, gave a sneak preview into what MBA is gonna be about!! But then now its done with. Student council is now complete and different committees have got together and started planning for their activities and events for the year.
Other than that quiz, presentations, assignments, case studies, PPT's etc full on for us and juniors, but most important of all bakar, gyan sessions, hanging out at the dhaba, night outs, movies etc!!
For us 2nd year mid-terms have also started!!
Time to find my books!
Had one today! No doubts about it. I'll flunk!! 😞 Next week is . Have mid term exams on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday!!
Lectures toh waise bahut hi boring hote hain. And one of my specializations being HR, it becomes more prominent!! 😛 And maybe bcoz of my unique combination of specialization (Ops+HR), I have classes very rarely!! So all the more reasons to sleep!
