FORE Economy Forum (FEF) organized FUN-DA-MENTAL v1.1 yesterday. An online Info Hunt competition for 40mins with questions/hints on 3 genres. Winners have been declared. I have won a 3rd place in it. Proves how good I've become at Googling!!

Many are done with term 5 exams and going to enjoy a welcome break before classes start on Wednesday, 14th. I still have 3 more exams pending, 2 on Monday and 1 on Tuesday!! 😞 😞
Life begins with a bang for the students for this trimester after a 10 day winter break; most welcomed one with the kind of effort put in for the first two. Currently a transition period for almost all; with the committees on the look out for a new core coordinating team and the students looking forward to either their Summer Placements or the Final ones.
The campus welcomed the presence of the fresh new faces from the Foreign exchange students from ESC Rennes, France. It was a bit of a mixed feeling as some had to say good bye to their close friends going to France.
SMASH, the badminton tournament, an annual feature, began with a lot of hooting and cheering. Since the campus has now become equivalent of a local village with almost everyone knowing everyone; the camaraderie always feels great.
The Corporate interaction events saw the presence of Mr.Shammi Dua, ( Head: Logistics and Customer Operations at Akzo Nobel India ) and K.P. Shashidharan ( Director General - CAG ), an alumnus of the London School of Economics, providing great valuable insights.
The CAT results declaration lead to many curious faces visiting FORE. Reminds me of the days when I aspired to be part of the campus; and was lucky to make it through. Hope all the aspirants who've worked hard; get to be part of this space.
must say the CID team is doing a great job! the session by mr. shashidharan was a treat for knowledge seekers. also, the various events by the sports and cultural division are much awaited helping us get a relieve all our stress. thanks to FSD and CID for all the great job they are doing.

A slew of activities since the new year has started.
Campus is buzzing with companies visiting for final recruitment and summer internship recruitment. Meanwhile 14 students (4 seniors and 10 juniors) have run away from all this and gone on the Student Exchange Program (SEP) to ESC Rennes School of Business in France to spend their respective trimesters.
All committees working on the last few activities before the senior batch i.e us finish our course in mid-Feb and leave. I have exactly 14 lectures remaining to attend!! The countdown has begun...

They'll also be organizing a SPIC MACAY LEC-DEM with Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, foremost disciple of Pt. Ravi Shankar, Grammy Award winner in 1994, winner of Sangeet Natak Academy Award and the Padmashri Award, and creator of the Mohan Veena.

Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) has invited Professor James Hayton, David Goldman Professor of Innovation and Enterprise at Newcastle University, on Wednesday, 18th January 2012 to address the students on the hot topic of entrepreneurship.
FORETech has announced the last in the series Q-Factor, v10.0 for 19th January 2012. Final leader will be known only after that. Leader board can go any way. It promises to go down to the wire as there is very little difference between the top 15!!
ANTAR has announced the launch of an unknown activity (to be declared in due course) through a teaser.
what a session by prof. hayton!!! everything he discussed provoked me to think...
today i realised, there's a lot more to MBA than what i thought it to be!! the knowledge he shared comes from nothing but sheer experience and intellect which we could not gain as students just by classroom lectures.
and not to forget...the students were very sensible in asking queries at the end...!!
good job CED

Stupid exam rules ruins career. If you fail iin any subject you dont have a chance to reappear. You need to carry it as legacy.

The Presidential Elections get underway. A President is someone all the students invariably look upto; our outgoing President had the guts to be assertive, lead and unite the Student Council towards accomplishing all the essential tasks and events for the given calendar year. Wish that the newly elected President has the integrity and credibility to lead the council for the coming year. Elections are always super exciting and the coming ones are expected to offer great surprises.
Plenty of awe-inspiring things have been going on at FORE lately.
Professor James Hayton, David Goldman Professor of Innovation and Enterprise at Newcastle University, was invited by Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) on Wednesday, 18th January 2012 to address the students on the hot topic of entrepreneurship. Around 30-35 people were also present representing TiE, New Delhi.
A SPIC MACAY concert by Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Grammy Award Winner, was organised by FORE Sports and Cultural Division (FSD) on 20th January 2012. Panditji played the famous Mohan Veena (a modified combination of a guitar and a veena) mesmerizing a packed auditorium consisting of not just the faculty and students of FORE but also had people coming from Mumbai, Ahmedabad etc specially for the event!
Many of us who don't know much about classical music found his music to be soulful and enchanting. While some were talking about his techniques and skills, others were delighted by his humble way of answering their queries. The exchange students from France also seemed to enjoy the unique experience.
He obliged our special requests and played the tunes of Vande Mataram and our National Anthem, towards the end. That day we all got to know why he deserved all those accolades he has won. Also, there could not have been a better way of starting the day instead of the usual classes.
i had never thought classroom teaching can be so much fun and filled with knowledge at the same time. this one subject called advanced communication skills, is truly justifying the name given to it. yes...im seriously advancing in my communication skills. moreover, the visiting faculty, professor akanksha arora, is one of her kind, imparting all her practical exposure well packed in the form of activities and discussions.
one thing i really appreciate here is the way our professors are ready to mould their way of teaching to suit our requirements. it is more easily said than done, especially for professors with a teaching experience of more than our age.
Student Council elections!
After a tight round of processes which included PPT by the 6 candidates (with senior council members asking questions), then voting (where 3 were eliminated), open house questioning and then again voting (with 3 candidates), finally we have Rakesh Kumar G S of FMG20 as President, Student Council and Pankaj Sharma, FMG20 as Vice-President for the year 2012-13.
Congrats to both of them and All the Best! :cheerio:
Seniors (including me) retiring from our respective positions in Student Council. So all in all a great day. Now juniors getting into exam mode with mid term exams starting tomorrow!
Seniors relaxing and gradually passing on the duties and responsibilities. Last few classes left. I have just 2 more on Saturday and then its just exams from 7-14 Feb. End of college, End of MBA!
Done with MBA classes!!
No more boring lectures, no more SMSing and playing games to sit through a lecture, no more running around to copy assignments/projects, no more friendly fun filled hostel life, no more sleeping in a class!!
Just 4 exams and its back to the world of corporate (after 1-2 months break at home), where each one is for himself, from where I came albeit in a different role, in a different position. New responsibilities, new dreams, new life, new beginning...
Now the wait for 4 exams to get over by 14th Feb and its goodbye to the gates of a college!!
2 down, 2 to go!
Exams..MBA..coming to an end..Looking forward to the farewell party on Tuesday, 14th Feb!
We also have scribble day planned. Last minute activities and passing on the baton to juniors to carry forward the culture and functioning of the student council committees.
For the first time GD PI process for 2012-14 admissions to be coordinated by students! Faculty/Corporate role would be the GD-PI process/evaluations.
ThinkTank organized thei last activity for the academic year, Aardvark, an intense inter section rivalry competition!
Center for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) is full fledged into their activities, organizing a workshop on "How to write a B-Plan and Opportunity Evaluation Workshop". This will be followed up by the E-week with a host of activities, competitions, seminars, talks by eminent and successful entrepreneurs.
FSD team along with various ardent sports fans of cricket, football, badminton, table tennis, basketball etc. have taken off to Chakravyuh, the annual sports fest at IMT Ghaziabad. And the news coming in is that FORE Stars are rocking the place having progressed to next rounds in table tennis, badminton, football, basketball (women). Chak de Phatte!
Team NEXUS is busy preparing for the farewell party. Already the atmosphere is festive, with lots of posters, banners, scribble boards coming up at various locations in the campus cafeteria, reception...
CID, CED, ANTAR, FORETech, FAN, FOREWord, FSD have passed on the roles and responsibilities to the flag bearers for 2012-13. FCD, NEXUS, President, Vice-President posts waiting to be passed on.
Over with my MBA today.
