Guys ... How come no updates of the super duper action that we were witness to in the past week at GIM ...
Congratulations GIM.... and your GreyM Team consisting of team members Mahesh Padmanabhan, Giju Mathew and Shailesh V Rajan(aspire) for the selection of your team at Board Room Business Plan Contest organized by Cognizant.
They pipped over 400 teams to get into the list of 20 teams.
This is a remarkable achievement for them.
Wish you all the best for Phase 3.
-Cheers,

sachinisgod SaysSaurav Goyal agrees to go to Goa! That is amazing, considering he has gone home for the first time in 5 months.
that is a good idea! but that would mean - us returning to our beloved OT, HT, Admin and LHLH... Amen !
coz if we are to pay the hotel rates around that time, we would have to get placed with your batch again!PR sahib, is that an option for us !
I personally may not be able to come but it is a good idea. You may send your secretary to represent yourself, the royal highness ! 😉
Deepawali or Diwali - The festival of lights was celebrated with the same vigour and excitement as every other event at GIM.
The traditional 'diwali puja' and sumptuous dinner was followed by a grand fireworks session. All in all, everyone (most of 'em dressed in traditional Indian attire) had a fabulous time and enjoyed celebrating Diwali at a home away from home.
Shubh Deepawali to all PG's from GIM
Guess this should've come long ago, but better late than never!
So on popular demand, here is my account of a day at GIM:
The day at GIM begins at around 6 in the morning.
After getting up, you have a few options - Go for a morning jog/walk alongside scenic Mandovi river, coupled with a fantastic cup of tea and breakfast at CASA-de-Cha OR go for some real workouts at the new and revamped gym OR do some yoga or practice music with Anant Sandhu at the hilltop!
Yes GIM is a beautiful place with fantastic vista from everywhere inside the campus! And the microclimate is just so right!
By 7 you come back and get ready for the day. By 7.30 its time to catch up with the latest happenings in the world. We have cable connection in the campus and all major newspapers are delivered.
Eight o'clock is the time for the power breakfast at Joe's with a thick shake/juice at Kailash's. And all this is coupled with intellectual discussions with extremely intelligent and experienced studs in the campus or some grapewine with some super-sexy LH residents!!
By 8.30 you are inside the air-conditioned lecture halls thoroughly enjoying some marketing or HR case and every moment feeling impressed and fascinated with the quality of discussion that goes on.
At 10 the class gets over and you rush to the notice-board to find that some 2-3 new companies are recruiting at GIM! 😃 You also find out that there are 2 quizzes scheduled for the day and that Mecca (Marketing club) is organising an event in the campus.
By this time, its 10.30 already and you are inside the next class. Its time for some Financial Accounting and Management presentation and you are evaluating the performance of some companies or having a discussion on latest stock market updates and trying to figure out the rationale behind the latest moves of the companies.
Its 12 and you are busy following up with some company in Noida for the next conference that you are organising. GIM conferences attract luminaires such as the CEO of BSE, heads of the biggest microfinance companies in India, Jo Verde, Senior Director, JeMM Consultants, Montreal, Canada and Mr. Derrick Barton, CEO, Center for Talent Retention, USA.
By 12.20, its time for the next class and you have a surprise quiz with a movie later on in the class.
Its 1.50 and you rush to Jaggu's or Joe's for the lunch and some discussion with the faculties or seniors over the issues raised in the class.
By 2.40 its time for the next lecture (time for a siesta for me but looking at the enthusiasm among the batchmates, you have to stay awake :() and you are appearing for the quiz number 2 of the day.
By 4.10 the class gets over and you have to rush for the salsa class thats about to start in 5 minutes! A much-needed break! :satisfie:
The class get over at 5.30 and you rush for a talk by the CEO of an IT MNC or a photo-journalist which is organised by Ribandar Talks.
The talk lasts for an hour and you have the screening of The Cup, a movie organised by Touche, the GIM movie club has a wonderful collection of the movies.
Its 8 and you rush for the wholesome dinner at Gene's. The restaurant overlooks Mandovi OR you can go to any of the nearby ferry points where you catch a ferry and visit the beautiful islands. The ferry ride is free for us and once you reach the islands, take a 5-7 km ride and you'll reach a haunted church! Or go to the Basilica of Bom Jesus, which contains the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier, patron saint of Goa! There are some 2000 odd churches in Goa and all of them very meticulously detailed and wonderfully beautiful.
You realise that its 9 and its time for the Mecca game, you are confused whether to attend the game or the GD organised by I3 OR to attend the talk by Sofia on futures and derivatives.
By 10, its time for a GBM wherein the placement committee is presenting the latest powerpoint presentation by a recruiter which they received during the day. You take down the notes and ask the questions about the profiles being offered and the experience of seniors who worked there.
By 11, its time for a half-hour meet with your group which is organising a conference. You provide them with the updates and they let you know the next plan of action.
Its 11.30 and you come back to the room to check out the latest B'day video. You see that its the B'day of a batchmate, get ready and reach the quad at 12! The B'days in GIM are celebrated in grand manner (what with all the cake, spanking and eggs, tomatoes, coke, and what not being put to their real use!)
Its 12.30 and the day has just begun! Time for some hard-core group work! You work with your group on the next assignment for the next 2 hours.
Its already 2.30 and you go to Fidalgo for a quick coffee with something to eat!
Next up is the preparation for next day's quizzes, presentations and e-mailing the relatives.
Its already 4.30 by now and you go to Fort Shapora and Kalengute beach to enjoy the sunrise and play soccer!!!
By the time you come back its already 6.30. :wow::wow::wow::wow::wow:
Now when do you sleep?????????????
Frankly I don't have the answer to this!! And ohh I forgot to mention that somehow you manage to play cricket, basketball or soccer during the day! You also do numerous other stuff!!! And you find time to post at PagalGuY.
At GIM, you just don't stretch the time, you stretch yourself! You become a manager and learn how to manage stuff. We invite you to visit our campus and experience the heaven for yourself.
All I can say by my personal experience is that, if you make it to GIM, you are in for a two-year vacation at the resort called GIM with the best counterparts from across the country.
Guess this should've come long ago, but better late than never!

Well for those of you who still haven't heard of 'The Ribandar Talks', let me tell you a bit about it.
'The Ribandar Talks' is a lecture series at GIM where we get eminent speakers to give a talk on the different fields that they are in, be it retail, budget, financial sector, M&A;, fashion, etc. We try to organise as many sessions as we can fit into our extremely hectic schedule 😃
It's great interacting with people who have achieved great heights in their chosen profession or interests.
This forum also helps the speakers to be exposed to questions from fresh minds of the student community, opening them to the diverse perspectives.
We have received tremendous support for this initiative from the speakers
pwe have invited so far.
Some of the speakers who have visited are:
Dr. Kiran Bedi
Mr. Jamshyd Godrej, Chairman, Godrej & Boyce
Mr. Sudev Das, Executive Director, SEBI
Mr. Shravan Shroff, CEO, Shringar Films Corporatisation
Mr. Alan Durante, Director, Mahindra & Mahindra,
Dr. Arindam Das Gupta, World-renowned tax policy expert
Mr. Wendell Rodricks, fashion designer
We have many more speakers in the pipeline, looking forward to trying to get all of them to come here to GIM.
Regards
Mirella Barboza
