Term 5 draws to a close for the PGP2z.
And the campus is buzzing with some people getting all set to leave for their homes, some planning for a party, keeping in mind the short term break.
That brings us to the final chapter of the GIM story- Term 6 premiering from 27th of December.
A hectic week 1 awaits most of us, with almost 36 lectures to be taken care of.
But given all of that, we always believe in d same old sayin - 'work Hard, Party Harder'.
Wishing all the PGP1z the very best of luck for their end term exams.

We had a team of carol singers moving around campus
We were given candles to hold while they sang songs........we all joined in the chorus......everyone was smiling ear to ear while singing jingle bells and other popular christmas songs......the joy is in the air.

The festive season hits Goa so does it hit GIM.Though there are exams from 27th people are full of enthusiasm with Christmas Carols.Many have gone to Churches to attend the mass and other are busy in buying the gifts after donning the role of Secret Santa.
I can't resist but to write more on Secret Santa whose fever has caught GIM junta and so also their facebook profiles and the status messages.This game is organized by the Club Prayas where every guy was made to pick a chit containing the name of a person.So,every person will be Secret Santa of someone and there will be a Secrete Santa for that person.Every person has to buy a gift for his/her Secret Santa.
On 25th ,whole junta will throng the amphitheater and the show will go on .:cheerio:

God felt that the world was over populated with studious and serious people for its own goods and thus made him...
The guy who is a goldmine of virtues...he lives upto the reputation of OTGF when it comes to bakar, be it at Jaggus or in the ethereal world of the IP Messenger...
The guy who can down tankards of Alcohol without worrying about the consequences(cause he is never awake to face them!!)...and so much does he love Nichotine that India's largest tobacco comapny returned the favour by hiring him !!!
The one man online army...be it creating buzz for Wizbiz or Mecca events on facebook....or helping out harried aspirants on the pagalguy admissions thread...he has done it all taking time from his busy schedule...of..err...doin TP!!
A wizard with Photoshop...he is the man I will trust with designing my own wedding card...
The guy we thought was about to break into tears in his Mecca interview...for he wanted to get in so bad...
To the guy who stood by me when I decided not to submit my banking report..and submitted it himself the next year...and got a B+
To the guy who assured me he will come to get me if I got stranded at mangueshi at night...

HI All,
A week back the first week of term-III started.And we all are dreaded with the subjects.Too much to handle.Within a week we got a hang of the coming times .It's gonna be tough but also with the learning.
If there is stress,we have stress busters too .Today,the kite flying was organised by Prayas.:-PIt was too much fun.I would say it was a different type of stress buster unlike the party or so.We felt like school kids- holding charkhi ,winding manja ,giving dheel to the manja, running after the patangs so as to to win the tag of the Kite Runner:cheerio:.And add to the fun,there is one party lined up on the coming Sunday by RaZamatazz club.
This is the spirit which pervades the souls of GIMites .Only single motto - Study Hard,Party Harder!!!.
Looking for this term as one of the bestest during my stay at GIM

Who says rock bands,music are only the part of engineering college? Who says MBAs can't afford to listen to the drums,can't laugh at the pain caused by the lectures and the assignments?
Welcome to GIM!!!!
Today is the night of Inception!!!!Today is the night when every GIMite is happy,satisfied and humming with the music.Today is the night when every GIMite is just relaxing and enjoying to the tunes of the music : the dance,the mimicry and the band.And I am sure tonight everyone is happy being a part of GIM family,where every member is full of talent : whether it be studies or the extra curriculars.Down the line 10 years,when everyone will look backwards and see I am sure everyone will remember this night,everyone will just say " Those were the best days of my Life"!!!!
And going forward in this week ,we have Sangamam(celebrating the south indian festival),followed by RaZZamataZZ's Musica(a competition of music lovers,Antakshri).
As previously said,I reiterate I love the culture here,i love the people here.I love this GIM family!!!!
It has taken some time it coming, my post on GIM Sanquelim, something I have been aching to do for long... Here it is finally. J
No story can begin without a bit of history, and the old campus provides just that. When I joined GIM, I was one of the few who got a chance to stay at the old campus(for a brief period). The old campus is seeped in history and has that typical old world charm. A beautiful old Victorian building by the side of the river Mandovi, mysterious passages that seem to connect the whole campus and an amazing stillness & calm that is ever pervasive. Once in a while an occasional chatter or laughter drifts your way, but is soon engulfed by the tranquillity the campus offers. The Mandovi silently flows by and an occasional trawler glides through it. In one word; it's amazing
The first thought that came to my mind when I saw the new campus was ; mind blowing! All you need are a few turrets, a Hogwarts express and it might as well be Hogwarts from Harry Potter. We also have our own dark forest where you can go on a hike whenever you feel adventurous. Instead of werewolves you will find flamboyantly coloured moths and descendants of Aragog. Nestled on top of a mountain, surrounded by the western ghats, this is as close to nature as you can get. During monsoon you are literally above the clouds and at times the clouds are right in your room! A short distance from the town of Sanquelim, this place is famous. The best thing, the folks in Sanquelim admire and help you a lot; my hunch & experience is that Goa admires & respects anyone from GIM a lot! J
Ah, sadly life is not so easy in MBA. The only day you get to admire this beauty is the first day. After that its work.. Cracking XAT is one thing, MBA a completely different ball game. You need to be ready 24 x 7. And when you are with the top minds of the country, the level of ingenuity & work done is tremendous. You run from submissions to canteen, to lectures, to a quick coke and back again. The TT tables are ever occupied (even at 4 AM !) and the washing machines & dryers ever humming. Occasionally you see a brave soul issuing a library book at 3 AM in the morning and an even braver soul roaming around at 4 AM. The best part about roaming around in the night; you are bound to see a shooting star. Somehow, the campus never never sleeps aided and abetted by the cafeteria that remains open till 2 AM.
I can go on this vein for a long time but that is for next post. Till then am possibly going to practise my cricketing skills for the upcoming Basanti cup. Ah yes, and it goes without saying that studying is an occupational hazard here which one must endure J

The way you have brought out the contrast of the old and the new campus is simply fabulous. The bit about the entire campus being connected with alleyways was really nice.
And me being an out and out harry potter fan as indicated by my avatar name, even I thought the old campus too had a bit of a hogwarts feel to it.
and the rule about girls being able to visit the boys hostel 24-7 while LH being out of bounds to boys only adds to the similarity...
The old campus really didnt offer much in terms of adventure...in fact I had gotten so bored that I jumped and swam around in the mandovi....TWICE :)
I dont have good net access so cant post much these days, but really looking forward to be back to my home of two years and also see the new campus and the new custodians of the glory of GIM...
Thats enough for now and please keep it comings Mr Golwalkar and everyone else...

Please provide the source from where you got to know that GIM short list is out. Next, this thread is only to know about Life@GIM as the thread name indicates.

Regarding the cut offs, none can predict them. We have to wait till the short list is out. Anyways seniors have given an estimated cut offs in the above thread http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/other-exams-xat-fms-jmet/59363-goa-institute-management-admissions-2011-a-182.html#post2477976. Just have a look at it to get an idea of last year cut offs.
