The last few weeks have been amazing, hectic and fun even by GIM standards. Today, finally, as I sit by the Cafeteria watching the sun set, the last rays bouncing off my head :), I dwell.

It is that time of the year when the PGP 2s leave and an era in GIM history that is Ribandar will draw to a close. A time that makes you dwell. A time when every moment is to savour. A time when every walk, every glance could be the last. The time for a last visit to Casa, the last ride on the ferry to Deewar, the last time table or the last lecture. A time when the drive down the cause way (which all must have done a zillion times) becomes a drive in paradise, a time when Maggie at Jaggu becomes manna from heaven. The time when a person stands at the intersection of joy, sadness and expectation of the adventure ahead. It is that time of the year. Indefinable yet so defined

The lead up to this week had been amazing. It all began with Inception followed by Sangamam a few weeks back. Sangamam - The South Indian festival. Trust me, it is an amazing feeling - Sitting there in the cafeteria, eating on banana leaves, serving your batch mates and getting served by them! If there is any way a bond can be strengthened then this is the way to do it. It was simple, traditional, tasty and above all a dinner to remember. Not to mention the fabulous performances that were displayed. We even had our very own Mahabali attending the function.

The austerity of Sangamam was preceded by a night of some serious head banging. Inception was incepted . I am not a big fan of music, but when you hear Gino Banks and Sheldon play even a guy like me stands mesmerized. It was a night when some amazing talent from our batch teamed up with Gino and Sheldon and created magic. A time for revelry and fun along with a nice crispy chicken.

I should have known that the two days were too good to last. If there is one thing that can take the life out of you it is the mid terms. It strikes you like a bolt from PGP office and all you can do is grumble. At GIM time flies except during the exams. Its like you can actually see Einsteins relativity at work. A time when 2 AM is just the beginning of the evening. A time when you realize for the nth time, MBA is TOUGH!!!

But the good thing is, all things must pass. So must the mid terms. Post the mid terms it was the time of the Razzies. These guys know how to throw a party along with Prayas. First time in my life have I gone neck deep in the sea and seen the sun set over the horizon. Saw fishes jumping out and played football on the beach. This is when you really come to appreciate the fact of doing your MBA from one of the best colleges in India, which luckily happens to be in GOA

So, with the Wizbiz tommorrow, a Razzie party and the convocation lined up and the sun now set it is time to bid adieu to the PGP 2s and plan for the incoming PGP 1s. Best of luck folks! Best of Luck Ribandar....

Nicely put up Gaurav !!
Your post does make me nostalgic, when I realize how soon the 2 year journey is drawing to a close. It's been an amazing experience so far, thanks to a wonderful batch and an amazing bunch of people around. Interactions though with your batch have been minimal, it feels so nice to see the enthusiasm among you guys :)

Keep up the spirit guys 😃 n rock Sanquelim !!!

Cheerz 😃

Wizbiz finishes on a high note...The Quiz was simply amazing right down to that nail biting tie-breaker in the end for first place...And if you thought that Mr Avinash Mudaliar's questions were super(& entertaining!)...then participants were truly spectacular!

Kudos to all the organizers. You guys did an amazing job!

Hope it's this much fun next year...Doubt it will though...Am sure we'll find a way to make it even better...

"Thank you for the Music" was a resounding success!

The event celebrated music and shared the joy of it. From Abba to Munnabhai, there was a wide variety as melodies were shared without the barriers of language/style.

While GIM choir stunned the waiting audience with "Dona Nobis Pacen Pacen", Alcatrazz wowed them with their performance and Namah Chorale enchanted everyone. People tapped their feet to the tunes of Abba, sang along with Boney M and snapped their fingers along with the choir to "Pal,Pal" from Munnabhai. The program closed amidst resounding applause and cheers. People actually came up to us and said that they had "enjoyed it", "good show". The evening was summed up by a gentleman from Mumbai as he left - "it was a night to remember".

The Choir Perspective
My average day for the last month consisted roughly of :
0850 to 1600 - Continuous lectures
1601 to 1610 - Kappa pav & chai!
1611 to 1745 - Choir practice
1746 to 1800 - Grumble about how unfair life is....
1801 to 2000 - Portuguese class
2001 to 0200 - Group meetings(yawn)/BrandMaps(lets just decrease prices
!)/PR meetings(too many of them!)/Visa meets!/Cartel formations/etc...etc...
0201 to 0400 - FB/PG/Twitter/Mails/HIMYM
0401 to 0402 - Study & prepare for the next day!
0403 to 0830 - Sleep a bit......

The choir was 2 hours of precious time everyday. And it was one of the best investments I made. I got to sing along with some of the best vocalists and bands in the state. Truly a memorable experience. My thanks to all those who helped and supported us.

Have spent a better part of the day....yodelling the tenor part of 'Money money'.......which is just not the same without the other 3 voices.....resulting in highly aggravated family members......!

@GIM Choir/Namah/Alcatraz/MaxieM/Prof.Christo : Thank you all for the music...

It has been a long time to come I visited this thread .

This Season on PG has been different, this time it was being on the other side.It was time to pay back to PG to our seniors who helped us last time when we were confused.

Most of the seniors have gone back to their home towns. And yes there were outburst of emotions on FB,mails .One thing I could understand from all that they had good time at GIM,they will miss the time they have spent here their 2 years. We gave them all we could on the farewell .So what if you are heading for Corporate world ,you will be in our hearts, you have been in the league of GIM Family. Will miss you guys.

And on the other side when we are taking the roles of our seniors.GIM has completed its GD/PI processes. And many of us were busy with helping puys out there.People banged us with the questions on placements, infrastructure, results etc.I hope we lived upto the expectations of them. Loved to interact with them online and offline. And will wait when these guys come here and join GIM family.

And for on campus activities,we all are going to have tough time in the coming week.Too many assignments and end term from 21st.But yes,it will not stop us from celebrating Holi .This is the fun here.We live in extremes and we love to live in extremes .

Hoping to have gala time in coming times...Till then..alvida ..fir milenge

Buddy,
This thread is specifically for GIM students to talk about Life@GIM as the name suggests.

Please Read PG guidelines before posting. Posting in multiple thread is a strict no-no and you can attract ban.

God felt that the world was over populated with studious and serious people for its own goods and thus made him...

The guy who is a goldmine of virtues...he lives upto the reputation of OTGF when it comes to bakar, be it at Jaggus or in the ethereal world of the IP Messenger...

The one man online army...be it creating buzz for Wizbiz or Mecca events on facebook....or helping out harried aspirants on the pagalguy admissions thread...he has done it all taking time from his busy schedule...of..err...doin TP!!

A wizard with Photoshop...he is the man I will trust with designing my own wedding card...

The guy we thought was about to break into tears in his Mecca interview...for he wanted to get in so bad...

To the guy who stood by me when I decided not to submit my banking report..and submitted it himself the next year...and got a B+

To the guy who assured me he will come to get me if I got stranded at mangueshi at night...

To the owner of the most tecnologically advanced Pulsar 180 on roads...

To the Despo...to the Marketing Bond...To Meccan and a Dear Friend...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mr Mehtani !!!!

Just discovered the new campus is bang in the middle of a fruit basket!

it is surrounded by countless cashew trees and mango trees. It is amazing to see the colorful and juicy cashew apples hanging all over.

It just happened that i woke up at 4.30 in the morning and spent some time flying paper planes off the hostel balcony with some vella people like me.

The went up the terrace to click some pictures of the sunrise

So sunrise done...so went for a walk...heard a peacock's sound then followed and discovered a pair and also discovered a whole plantation of cashews with juicy cashew apple hanging!!

aaahh...loving the life in a natural fruit basket!:w00t::-P

Hi Guys...
Can you please post the link of the official page of GIM on facebook???
I am not sure whether this is allowed here..

I know this seems way of topic and irrelevant but seeing the fans GIM has got and the number of people intrested i am posting this here....
I have created a Picbadge on facebook just for GIM. Its a logo of the collage for all aspirants, students and alumini to wear with pride.... Need supporters to float the badge and get it registered in the badge directory. Those intrested search and add.

The link to it- Goa Institute of Management PicBadges
