I should ideally be working on my group project that has some 10% weight-age and my group hasn't yet started it, instead I am writing this post and it's been a long time.
Term 3 has started with new energy in the air and hope that there will be lesser assignments. The birthday celebrations have reached a new high and PGP2s are now even celebrating lost RFID Card mails :P
This term will be full of events and Prayas guys have been busy already. The Ping Pong for PGP2s will start and then there will be a head to head of the two batches in the last 16.
Coming back to what @Cechmate has posted, the football competition between PGP1s and PGP2s has started and we won the first game comprehensively 3-0. We need to win the next game to clinch the series as it is a best of 3 tournament.
The Razzies organised Musica which was a two day musical event and a great success, we all had a lot of fun along with loads of free KitKats. The term opening party "Evolution" is happening soon to raise the spirits. And Inception, Wizbiz and the cricket tournament are in Feb.
The senior batch has only a couple of months in this beautiful campus and they want to enjoy to the hilt. Sanquelim Times is working on a list called " 999 things to do before passing out of GIM"
The weather is nicer now and it gets cold in the night, that little chill makes the midnight snacks that much more amazing. The early morning fog caters for an amazing view towards the valley. The senior club members are passing on the baton to the JCCs as they realise that this dream life will be over soon and the responsibilities must be carried forward. My Kashmiri friend has woken up and I shall close the post now to work on the project.
Somewhere in the unknown world, an aspirant is dreaming of the Basanti!!
Final Placements are going on in full swing.. 😃 Many new companies are turning up with exciting profiles and good packages and this def shows the faith of Corporate World in the Brand Of GIM
In the meanwhile, students are trying to learn as much as possible by taking diverse electives from Lyrics Management to Talent Management to Effective Negotiation to Pricing to Bench Marking and the list continues
In the coming 50 days of this term, there is lot many events scheduled. Recently, we had Kai-Poche, the Kite Flying Event which everyone enjoyed to the extreme. A RaZzmataZz Party is Scheduled very soon :D
Channel V India Fest is held at Baga Beach every year. And most of us are excited and looking forward to attend it on 18th and 19th Jan. The rocking moments of last year's fest is still fresh in my mind. Few of our college mates have even participated in the zonals and are going to represent GIM in the final events on 18th and 19th. Best Wishes to them..
Life has changed in a thousand ways.. unpredictable, unknown kinda ways in the last 7 months.. I came to Goa on the 7th of June with my parents, they were as mesmerized by the GIM campus as they were relieved to see it.. After all, their daughter was gonna live here for the next 2 years.. There has never been a boring day in my life@GIM, not even during exams cz then we dance on the Gangnam Style .. The first time I went back home, my friends asked me wether going to GIM was one of those 'Dream-Come-True-Sorta-Situations' for me or not. And they said that it sounded absurdly filmy-ish when I replied that it's more than that for me.. but I know that they were all jealous!
Now that I've expressed how much I love GIM, I would like to back my statements with evidence. (one of the most Pakau things you have to do here, Evidence-Based-Research )
I got the biggest room in the girl's hostel, thanks to Neha (a PGP2) .. the coolest part is that it's very close to the bathroom and the water-cooler (You'll understand the pain when you'll have to walk all the way from the farthest corner of the corridor to drink water and later, to face the consequences of drinking water ;)). While everyone was bonding with other people to find the most suitable roommate for themselves, I decided to leave it to my destiny to find one for me. Logic: If I get a good one, my life is set; if not, it'll be a learning experience for me. To my utter joy, my roommate is one of the best-est people I know here + she's from Goa.. (oh yes, we share our birthdays too .. whatta coincidence!!) That's not all.. my roomie joined GIM with her Awesome cousin.. "just the perfect package", as she calls it! Trust me, it is very important to have a good company here! Cause you mostly study, eat, party, shop, clean the room, bitch about everyone with them.. They wake u up every morning (or may be the other way round), make your life hell here, and teach you how to enjoy in hell!!
Here you'll experience everything at once.. the struggle to wake up early for breakfast … the rush to get the cleanest bathroom in mornings … passing on of RFIDs for attendance … the not-so-appreciated work-group forming ceremony … the abey-tune-case-padha-kya moments … walking out of class to have tea quickly … spending the whole evening watching guys playing football or at times taking a walk towards the village behind the campus … the unwanted CSR Thursdays … the fruitless group meetings that end with taking each other's cases … the fight for conducting club events … saturday night parties , lazy sunday afternoons and a sudden realization that there's loads of work for monday … and small clashes… teasing friends for the silliest mistakes possible … complaining about the cafeteria food while defending your health club friends … updating friends' Facebook statuses and posting their embarrassing pictures in the GIM 2012-14 group… waiting in long queues at the photocopy shop hours before your exam … going to the faculty block just to download movies … disturbing everyone in the library and running back to Jaggu … exploring the campus for secret cool places … looking at the clouds in the valley opposite your room right before you sleep 👼 … there's so much more… will keep posting… have to go for midnight snacks RIGHT NOW!!!
GIM is going to have a New Director, Dr. Sunil Rai and will be taking the charge from P.F.X D'Lima. He will be joining w.e.f 1st Feb, 2013. He addressed the Students, Faculty and Staff of GIM yesterday. And we all were very impressed by his speech.

@avinashkrjha ....when will be the placement of batch 2011-2013 will be disclosed..??? ... i am pretty eager to look at the leap in the upward direction deserting behind the a petty fall of last year in the average package due to the increase of the intake...
@vaibhav_1841 Placement report of 11-13 batch will be disclosed probably after the convocation. And this time we are expecting better results and will cover up the fall of last year by taking a big leap.
Many students who are right now studying at GIM won't forget 23rd Jan 2013..
We had the best ever "RaZzmataZz" Party till date. Everything was so perfect. Best venue - Elephant Art Cafe, Anjuna Beach. Best Music. Perfect Atmosphere. The Party started at 10 p.m and continued till 4 a.m in the morning..
Prayas, The Sports and Welfare Club has been the most busy club in January. There are lot of events and sports competition going on in the college - Kite Flying Event, Foot Ball, Table Tennis. And right now, it's SMASH - The Badminton..
In the coming month, it will once again be "RaZzmataZz" in action with Beach Party Scheduled.. 😃 :D
There is another New Hostel being constructed right now in the Campus. So, it will be the 6th Hostel.
Also, Swimming Pool is coming up in the Campus The Construction is all set to begin in few days. So, it's going to be great fun for the PGP1's and the coming batches. We, the PGP2's will miss out as only 44 more days are left for us at GIM Looking forward for a lot of fun in the coming days..
