Laasya- The Cultural committee at IFMR GSB organised ‘Connectere’, an opportunity to bring the
junior and senior MBA Batches together and interact in person. Members of Laasya firmly believe
that interactions and getting to know other students are best done beyond a formal set-up.
Therefore ‘Connectere’ was an attempt to connect the gaps between both the batches and break
the proverbial ice between them. Held on 11 December 2021, participants were students who have
been staying on campus for a few months now. While a fraction of the junior batch were still in their
respective homes, they still contributed and were heavily involved in the setting up of ‘Connectere’.
While students participated and joined in, the highlights were performances by the other clubs
including Raga, Abhinay and Nritya, with seniors and juniors teaming up for a melange of activities.
Heavily decorated with a mix of the festive cheer, ‘Connectre’ came at a perfect time, breaking the
monotony and ensuring everybody had a good time. Memories from the event were captured
perfectly by Shutterbugs, IFMR GSB’s photography club.
With the help of senior Laasya members, the Office of Student Life (OSL) , the operations team and
the student council, ‘Connectre’ was a success and a memorable one! Socially distanced and highly
anticipated, members from the Krea community participated and witnessed this in-person event.
‘Connectre’ also marked the beginning of several such hybrid events in the future.

Abhinay, the drama club of IFMR GSB, gave a performance to remember at the recently concluded ‘Connectre’ event organised by Laasya, the B-School’s cultural committee.
The team enacted a fictional story with a bit of reality added called ‘Baap baap hota hai’. High on the relatability scale, the story focused on situations - some real, some fictional - experienced by a first-year MBA student.
What really made this performance one to remember was the fact that the club performed in person after almost two years! To seniors and juniors, this event brought them closer after months of online learning and interactions. Right from the beginning till the end, the two MBA batches collaborated, ideated, and executed a performance that will forever remain memorable to them.
Team Abhinay showcased the perfect amalgamation of a memorable and entertaining performance, whilst having a blast on stage. Here’s to scripting more such performances in the future!

Abhyudaya, the flagship event of IFMR GSB, Krea University, brings together all clubs and committees under an umbrella to provide a platform for 2 days of technical, cultural, and management excellence. Taking Centre Stage

by Abhinay

To become contributing members of society, as much as we need to learn the sciences, formulas, maths equations and language, we also need to become self-confident and creative, and empathetic individuals who can work together to achieve a common goal. That’s precisely the skills a student builds upon at the Theatre Club of IFMR GSB, Abhinay. For participants, on stage and off it, being a part of the theatre group stimulates their creativity and thought process, instills discipline, raises awareness on issues and changes their perspective on life at large. In short, students learn a great deal of life skills, that will prepare them for the future.

Recently, the Club organized a national level dramatics competition as part of IFMR GSB’s annual cultural festival, Abhyudaya. This year’s festival spanned over two days and was conducted online. With 107 registrations, the festival showcased two rounds, One Tell Tale and Spoof It Out.

Each performance was entertaining and thought-provoking. Winners were decided by judges, Zoha Sanofer and Shivam Tripathi, along with an audience vote. The first place was secured by Team Eklavya and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 12,500. The second place winners Team Kalakriti was awarded a cash prize of Rs 7,500. Team Nautankis came in third and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,000.

The audience loved each and every performance, as much as the team did organising it.

The first steps taken into the Krea campus have always meant the beginning of a story, of a dream and of treasured moments. A story woven by bonds in these hallways, strengthened by the knowledge in the classrooms and inspired by the ethos we share.

It only felt right to celebrate the Krea campus as seen through the lens of the Krea community. A pinch of nostalgia, a dollop of warmth, the fondest of memories, friendships for life and that sentiment we all dearly call home.

Presenting a series on the Krea campus, and the life out there.
