Business Communication Play - Shakespeare Era
Retail Management Batch: MACBETH
Macbeth is considered to be the darkest and the most powerful work of Shakespeare. Set in Scotland, the story tells about a brave Scottish general named Macbeth who receives a prophecy from I trio of witches that one day he will become the King Of Scotland. Consumed by ambition and spurred to action his wife, Macbeth murders the king and takes up the throne. Then whacked in his guilt and paranoia he is forced to kill more people to protect himself. The bloodbath and consequent civil war forces him and Lady Macbeth towards death.
RMM did a tremendous job with their interpretation as they call it "An Engendering Abhorrence". Their plot was on underworld and revolved around, 'Sultan' who wants become the king of the underworld. When the position for the new leader is given to some other, Sultan gets outraged by the decision of his mentor Randeep Musa, who was also the old leader. Influenced by his wife Sultan murders the new leader, and taking up his place. Musa then murders Sultan's wife in front of his eyes, in response to which Sultans kills Musa. Left alone , Sultan regretting his mistakes losses all his powers and is forced to be on a wheelchair.
The story showed the dark side of a human being and the darkest and most dangerous of all 'Guilt'. Fabulous acting by RMM team. Indeed "An Engendering Abhorrence", touching multiple emotions of mankind.

Marketing 1: As you like it
"As you like it" is a pastoral comedy by Shakespeare, the play featured the most famous and oft quoted speeches, "All the world's a stage" and it the origin of the phase "too much of a good thing". The plot follows its heroine, Rosalind as she flees persecution in her uncle's court, accompanied by her cousin Celia, to find shelter, safety and eventually love in the Forest of Arden.
M1 presented their adaptation of the story in a very fascinating manner. Their story took place in the Hotel Arden's Garden and the major attractions were the perfect casting and the very animated dancing tree. Even though the story was adapted, M1 kept the essence enact by using the rhymes and poem in as dialogs. The climax of the play was a lot more filmy, it turns out Celia being jealous of Rosalind, betrays her and Duke Junior being murdered in the end by Rosalind and Orlando, hence taking revenge of Duke Senior (Rosalind's father).
M1 did absolute justice to the story with loads of humour and entertainment.

Marketing 2: The Comedy of errors
The comedy of errors is one of the most farcical comedies, with a major part of humors coming from slapstick and mistaken identities, in addition to pun and word play. The story tells about two sets of identical twins that were accidently separated by birth which leads to loads of confusion and series of hilarious events.
M2 came up with the most interesting adaptation of the story in a very Bollywood style, which had emotions drama and goddess. The two set of twins came with a 'pray for one and get one set free offer', with fascinating names Vardaan and Prasad, one set being deaf while other being visual impaired with one eye. One set of twins were bandits while the other set were unfortunate orphans. The confusion created when the twins swap places by mistake was a delight to watch.
Story from an aspirant away from home:
It
had been nearly 10 months since I have been living in Kharghar. It had been a
completely different experience for me living in Kharghar as a student. Life
here is quite cool and calm as been compared to the other part, Mumbai. When I
came to live in Kharghar I had a different perception regarding it, that the
life would be very fast here, people would be always in a rush/hurry, but I
was totally amazed to see the life here. Within few days, my perception about
this place totally changed and I started loving here. Near the beautiful
Kharghar I got my hostel surrounded by different societies and buildings. As
the days went on passing I started roaming around with my friends to different
places in Kharghar to explore the facilities, places for fun, enjoyment.
Though Kharghar is a small place in Navi Mumbai it had got all the facilities like educational institutions, hospitals, shopping malls, stores, parks. The Kharghar railway station connects it to rest of the parts of Mumbai through the central line railways. Some of the places to visit in Kharghar includes the central park, Kharghar hills, little world mall.
Still one year is remaining for me at Kharghar and I hope that I would be a fantastic one for me like the last one.

A Short Story:
As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.
He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. "Well," trainer said, "when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it's enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free."The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn't, they were stuck right where they were. Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life.
A philosophy professor stood before his class with some items on the table in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, about 2 inches in diameter.
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled into the open areas between the rocks.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.
The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up the remaining open areas of the jar.
He then asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous "Yes."
"Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The rocks are the important things - your family, your partner, your health, your children - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter - like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else, the small stuff."
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party, or fix the disposal."
"Take care of the rocks first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

As e-commerce is the growing industry how can the youth of today can create path for themselves or create their own space in the market which in turn provides them with self-employment and creates jobs for others too.
I've
held different positions throughout my career, but they've all been with the
different companies, in the same department. I enjoy my job, and it's
undoubtedly challenging, but after nearly 2 years some level of comfort is
inevitable. To me, pursuing an MBA at ITM is a valuable opportunity to gain
knowledge and experience outside my current field, and interact with a variety
of talented people from diverse backgrounds that differ from my own. In other
words, it was a chance to step outside my comfort zone.
With one semester complete, I can attest that the program has met that expectation and much more. Each course provided its own opportunity for relevant discomfort.
Amongst the most nerve-wracking, Oral Communications, required masterful presentations made under close scrutiny of peers and the professor who counted every filler including "um and uh," every clumsy gesture, and every awkward shift of our body weight...on camera. Following in second place, Negotiations required that we successfully navigate varying scenarios, role-play, and face off against fellow classmates to negotiate terms of potential transactions. Even Customer Insights, a course closely related to my current occupation, challenged us to rethink the way customer insights is traditionally defined within an organization and then tasked to present scenarios in small groups.
By the end of the week, the rewards were evident with obvious purpose to each uncomfortable challenge. Through the incorporation of peer reviews and video documentation, pressure mounted, causing bad habits to instinctually emerge. This made areas of improvement painfully clear. After just a few short days, the level of confidence, clarity and professionalism my classmates and I achieved was remarkable.
Throughout Negotiations, our natural dispositions to be overly aggressive, overly passive or to anchor ourselves to a particular position (including a need to even walk away without a deal) were tested. Many of us found that focusing on the end goal and pushing beyond our natural personas proved successful. Customer Insights allowed us to witness how new principles learned, applied to real-life circumstances, changed the way we interpret companies, brands, and business in general.
Natural resistance to go outside our comfort zones can be directly connected to fear of failure. However, we learn from failure. As with the filmed presentations described earlier, stress and struggle reveal true aspects of ourselves, or skillsets we seek to improve. Lucky for us, the MBA in ITM creates a setting in which we can test ourselves, safely. I appreciate how collaborative the environment is, lending itself to the support of our classmates and professors and truly stretch ourselves; even if it doesn't always work out the way we planned.
Positive and negative, I learned from both experiences during those six days. These tools will positively impact how I approach life, my career, and interactions with others. As I lay on the couch writing this post in my pajamas with the heat on high, it lends an ideal opportunity to reflect upon the week. And, it was fantastic.

First holi at ITM
Student life is the best part of one's lfe. Even when one takes the aid of a walking stick and rests in an ease chair, the memories of college life would flash as colourful as a rainbow. Moreso when it is the festival of colors, the memories go on a never ending trip. Much to the surprise of all, this was the first Holi of my life.
Born and brought up in a place where Holi is not celebrated with much significance, Holi this year pumped up all my excitement. Like every other day i walked out of my house just to have a cup of tea in the morning. Some flying objects went past me only to realise after 2 mins that one of them landed on my head, reminding me to shower before leaving home. Yes, tiny little monsters in the surroundings filled colour water in balloons and kept hitting them on all the passers by. Thereon there was no turning back. A few friends from hostel had already attacked me with various blues and greens. Now the excitement filled the air and my mind. I went to the nearest shop only to get a pink and a green, pink exclusively for men though.
As time went by everyone from hostel had come out to celebrate and people were all set to throw eggs on everyone and there was much enthusiasm of chasing and splashing colours. The joy that this festival brings is immeasurable. The joy of togetherness, friendship, bonding, colours, festivity and much more. When all that you have read about, heard about, watched on TV and watched around comes live into your own life, the joy is immeasurable.
It is always known that what comes first is the best, likewise my first holi will always be the most memorable one.

A Small Motivational Paragraph:
There is not one person on the entire planet, better prepared to Travel and rock your own paranormal aura, than you. All that you've been through has created the perfect storm of possibilities for their imminent and inevitable manifestation.
There've been no accidents or mistakes, only guts and genius.
Yeah, guts...
From where I sit, it is a mystery to me, how so many can look back on their past with pride, yet frown with disappointment at their present.
Somehow forgetting that back then, they were just as self-critical, while somehow missing that today they've never, ever, been so close to all they've ever wanted.
Big love,
