Retail Management & Marketing as course is not only known as only dual specialization but it has an upper edge towards marketing in term of placements. Since inception RMM holds a record of 100% placement records with best companies and best package in campus. RMM students also stand apart in terms of academics and most of the time ITM had its academic achievers as an RMM student. Being an RMM student you get to sit across varied companies which Marketing students also get but few companies only prefer RMM (e.g. Hyperspace, Reliance Brands, Reliance Retail and many retail companies). RMM students are also placed in sectors like FMCG, Consulting, Research, BFSI, Real Estate, Online Marketing, Advertising and Supply Chain & Logistics. Course wise RMM follows same curriculum which a marketing graduate follows but has to study few retail subjects like (Visual Merchandising, Category Management, Store Operation in retail and Marketing in Retail). Within Retail jobs many RMM students has worked not only in Store operations but also as Merchandiser, Category Manager, Retail Planner and other Back end operations. PGDM Retail Management & Marketing has definitely got an edge over PGDM Marketing since a student gets to learn the dual aspects of a business. With the advent of organised retail, this field has opened a wide array of opportunities for a candidate.
RMM having a comparatively lower fee, has got a better ROI than Marketing. Some students of RMM have managed to recover their fee within the 1st year of their employment.
