hi seniours me got a call......gd/pi on feb 13th cochin....its said u hav to submit original degree marks.....but my university gives us only photo stats so r they sufficient??????also am a final year student...plz help

Any one else having their gdpi at Bangalore on 28th Feb?? Pm me.. we'll get in touch.. and, where is the exact venue in Bangalore. I have asked this several times. But no one seems to reply.

Then to seniors, what is Naissance all about? Can someone please elaborate on this? Does other b schools participate?

Hi AllWelcome to SDMIMD with me Surabhi. I would like u all to get a glimpse of the life here before joining the institute. Our day starts at 6am with the yoga classes. The classes extend from 9:30 in the morning to 6 in the evening and if u r lucky then u may have a guest lecture after that, the extent of which depends entirely on the speaker. Thereafter the group assignments, presentations, self study (coz surprise tests are always there to stun u especially when u are not prepared with the subject) but when u are free with all that, then a stroll around the campus with ur gang makes u forget all ur worries and tensions. Drinking tea at 12 midnight, being awake till early mornings to complete assignments just a day before the submission and rainbows after the anytime rains add a tinge of lemon to the otherwise tasteless water so as to make it a lemonade. Regarding the events that take place here at SDMIMD I wud like u all to know that we recently conducted a Global OD Summit which was attended by great OD practitioners from all over the world be it America, UK or Australia. From India the leading names that attended the summit were Mr. Venu Srinivasan, Chairman and managing director TVS Motor Co. and Mr. Mohandas Pai, earlier CFO now Head HR of Infosys.The events that are in the pipeline are Naissance, Asian Management Fest and Brand fair.What else shall I say? i have got a call from sdm imd. i want to know the level of competion that will beduring my gd and pi.is there something specific that the institute look for. how should i go about preparing for my interview and is there any thing which i should focus on?

Hello people

So many queries, chalo i will answer them one by one.

1. Fidasal- Take ur photostat marksheets for the interview but u will have to deposit ur original marksheets if u get admission in this institute. That u need to arrange from ur university and i feel that they wud give u original marksheets once u r thru with ur final year.

2.Shailesh- Naissance is r college fest and many b-schools attend it. This year the fest was attended by 10 colleges and total of 150 students attended it. The participating colleges were Christ, XIME, Tapmi, Amrita, Mt. Carmel to name a few. It all started with the online game which had teams participating from the IIMs, FMS, ICFAI(hyd), corporates such as TCS, Oracle, Google and many more totaling 102 and the real event continued for a period of three days. The events were HR game, marketing game, finance game, stock game, culturals competition, best manager, corporate quiz. The champions were Christ college, bangalore.

We also had culturals and DJ nite in the college after the event was over. Had real fun.

3. Neha- This year 1114 calls have been sent, so the competition is real tough, u need to be very good at ur acads as ur PI wud be purely on acads. GD wud most probably be on current affairs or u might get an abstract topic. U wud also get an essay to write. The institute basically looks for an overall personality who cud represent the college in the corporate world.

Hi Surabhi or other seniors pls answer me. I have asked this query many times on this forum. But haven't got any reply. I have got my gdpi at Bangalore on 28th Feb. but the exact venue is not given. As I have to come all the way from Chennai to Bangalore to attend the interview, is it possible to reach Bangalore on 28th morning by train at 5.30 am and reach the venue for GDPI at 8.30 am? the reason for me asking this again and again is that only based on the venue, I can decide on when I have to start from Chennai. The same info is not updated for me on the results page. Called the admissions office too. But they said its closed now and to check back only on Monday. Approximately, at what time will the GDPI be over?

It is very much possible to reach the venue the same day. Last year there were two interview slots one in the morning around 9 and the other in the afternoon around 2. U need to confirm which slot are in and then decide as to when to reach bangalore or is there any means by which u reach bangalore before 830am.

i have my gd tommorow

seems like i am the only one to attend at hyd and got the dates so early

my percentile is 90 and my engg percentage is 63 all other things are well in place

with a workex of 13months

so even if i see according to weightage given in the disclosure the only thing that will be pulling back MAY be my engg score and only 20%weightage for Gd and pi (10+ 10)

so any how wish me good luck yaar 😃

hey guys ..

If u have any queries.. u can ask the interview panel.. they will giv u oppurtunity to ask them ques during the interview or during the briefing (before the gd process starts) .
Even we had asked the admission panel some details n direct questions n they were helpful

u can feel free to ask them ...

Requesting Sdmimd..
one snr(Surabhi) mentioned that this time sdmimd is taking only 60% grads..

On Sunday my friend attended intw at sdmimd. While briefing abt the intw process they mentioned that they gave calls to >60% grad and >50% cat

THen why they didn't state the same in App Brochure. Why they set eligi as 50% in gradua as min.
Surely to attract more applications and earn money right?
Its not fair for SDMIMD. I hope they will not this like all B Schools next time.

two queries.. first regarding the pi .. which as stated will cover academics..
i am doing my final year B.E computer science .. so can i expect questions from the last two semesters or could it be anything under the sun ?
second .. i have not yet received my score card from the iim's... will a print out be sufficient ?

Hi Suresh
1. Prepare on basic concepts of core subjects.You have to be prepared on project related questions.
2. For the interview printout will be okay.
3. You can expect questions like why you prefer MBA to MTech. Expect HR related questions...

Hi Suresh

All the very best for ur GD/PI. Regarding ur PI u need to be well versed with all the concepts u have learnt in engineering till now. And u cud carry a photocopy of the CAT scorecard, that wud do for the GD, no probs.

My GD is on 12th @ Cochin
