HEY FRIENDS.. I HAD MY GD/PI ON 24TH FEB AT DEHLI UNIVERSITY.. INTERNATIONAL CAMPUS.... ND MY EXPERIENCE WITH SDM IS NOT REALLY GOOD. THE CROWD OUT THERE IS DEFINATELY NOT THE SHARPEST ONE... FEW WITH A MEAGRE SCORE OF 69-70 PERCENTILE WERE ALSO THERE...
TOPIC-- "CHILDRENS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THEIR PARENTS WHEN THEY ARE OLD" ...THE GD WAS A TOTAL CHAOS... AFTER FIRST 2-3 MINS.. IT JUS WENT ASTRAY... EVERYONE SHOUTING.. I HAVE ATTENDED MANY GD'S BEFORE, BUT THIS WAS SURELY THE WORST.....THE REASON BEING.... 16 STUDENTS IN A GROUP!!!! EVER HEARD OF THAT ???
SDM PEOPLE ... EVEN DIDT BOTHER TO ASK ANYONE OF US TO SUBMIT THE COPY OF THEIR ORIGINAL MARKSHEETS /DEGREE ... BEFORE OR AFTER THE GD AND PI ????? I DONT KNOW WHY??
PI WAS QUITE DISAPPOINTING AS I WAS ASKED SUCH AN EASY QUESTIONS IN MY ACADEMICS .... I MEAN THEY SHOULD KEEP SOME STANDARDS ATLEAST.
ONE GUY WAS ASKING EVERYONE IN THE PI'S ABOUT THE 'CAPITALS' OF THE DIFFERENT COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD.... TOTALLY ANONYMOUS COUNTRIES OF AFRICA... ND NO ONE HAVE EVEN HEARD THE NAME OF THESE SMALL COUNTRIES.... DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE IN THE PERSONAL INTERVIEW OF AN MBA COLLEGE ???????
REGARDING COLLEGE.... SDM IS A NICE ONE... GOT GOOD CAMPUS AND FACILITIES.. ITS CURRICULUM IS QUITE RIGOUROUS.... BUT IT LACKS 'BRAND NAME'.
STUDENTS ARE SUPPOSED TO ARRANGE THE SUMMER INTERNSHIP ON THEIR OWN.. AND IF THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO GET IT, THEN SDM HELPS THEM.
REGARDING PLACEMENTS, ONE OF THE TRUSTEE IN SDM TRUST IS AT HIGHER POSITION IN INFOSYS.. SO INFY RECRUITS FROM HERE.... PLACEMENT SCENE IS QUITE NICE THOUGH.
BUT I FEEL THAT.........FOR THOSE ENGINEERS WHO ARE WORKING RIGHT NOW... SDM IS NOT THE PLACE TO GET IN.... WAIT AND GIVE CAT NEXT YEAR.

well the GD ws the most polite one.
wah kya topic "should INDIA AND PAKISTAN UNITE TO FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM " I DEDIDED TO GO AGINST THE TOPIC.
i made the initiative and it was excellent GD for 3-5 people since the other people hardly made an attempt to speak.
the essay topic was looking after our parents at the old age.
i genuinely think 5 more mins will make essay writing more sense than what was given to us.
my PI was the horriblest one.
it was more like a discussion, with one sir just kept on asking engineering MAThs for which our entire batch was clueless, but to me he kept insisting that my background doesn't have maths, so it will bedifficult for you to cope up. both the interviewers were keep on repeating the same thing and me too said the same things "I will do my best sir".
after that a few gk questions, seem to be asked for name sake.
my total feeling was unexplainable, but one of my friend said
IT MUST BE AN STRESS INTERVIEW, NOT SURE.
WELL SENIORS CAN YOU HELP ME ON THAT AND OTHER ASPIRANTS TAKE A NOTE OF THIS STRESS INTERVIEW.

I think 2007 batch have done with the course.Are all the batch placed?If so what is the average,median,highest and lowest pacages.Why the SDM IMD will not disclose all the information about placements like other institutes.And the average salary raised to 5 or 5.5 lacs(mentioned by seniors) is because of INfosys as they recruited 29 with a package of (6.5,8.5).What if infosys recruited 5 to 6.The average salary will definitely minifies and the time to placements increases.We should consider this case because last year infosys recruited 42 from TAPMI and this year they offered only 16.
Why software firms like satyam,IBM,Oracle(not sure) are not coming to the campus as they are recruiting from even unknown schools.SIPs in all the schools will be offered by many companies but in SDMIMD we should search for it..Is it true.Even after 2007 batch passed out no placement report has been given.
Dont think that iam concerned only with palcements as these are very important in choosing a b-school.I didnt talk about other factors like infrastructure,faculty as the institute is best in them.

we had 20 min.. but there was aproble.. i could not write properly due to injury in mi hand.. but the pts were kinda ok..

3 ppl had pi b4 me.. for them majority of ques from aca side..
3-4 qs for me too were from aca..
the moment i went in i straightly headed towards them.. then i was directed to sit in front of them..(1st mistake)
next in the form i had not signed in the sheet in which we filled crtain details nd wrote the essay.. they asked me too. i said i cant sign prop coz of mi injury..they said thatz fine..(the whole crap- a 2nd mistake)
next out of 4 qs...
1 in neural n/w-- dunno that
2. 2 qs from electricals..
1 i answered.. 1 i think i messed up..
then they asked mi current pay(3.5l)
WHAT PAY WUD U EXPECT IF U STUDY AT SDM..
i said a min of 6 l..(nxt mistake)

then some qs on work... those i did well.

hey seniors the same query bothers everyone who has been selected.. i too have got thru but the worrying factor is paying 94000 b4 15th march. this is the first insti to declare calls i believe and hence not sure abt other results.. in case we cancel the admissions at a later stage, pls let us know abt the refund part..
now we need dire help from seniors.. and congrats to all call getters!!

1.does sdm-imd arrange for the summer placements or as someone had said in this thread that we have to find out ourselves?
2.what is the salary that companies other than infy are providing?is the average salary of 5.5 sustainable?
3.as per the aicte norm the time given for acceptance should not be less than 15 days.but sdm is giving us only 10 days to decide.so comes the million dollar question,what part of the money is refundable?it will be great if u people pls clarify from the admission office and let us know at the earliest.

Just participation IN GD/PI confirms seat.Or it is performance.
Overall a good percentile and academics whith participation in gd will get u the seat.
