companies these days look for 60% in acads. CAT can be based on luck, but your consistency in acads is imp. MY pi was for 20 mins, asked about stocks, cmm, iso, mech stuff, teermodynamics..and a lot more...i asked it all...
To support your point,Infy is actually taking consistency into the picture which may not be true, a person may improve over the years , i guess a upward graph in marks would sound more appropirate. A lot of other companies want this criterion as the clinets would like to have the BEST brains, unfortunatly there are loads who have this consistency .

Hi stunner7 thank you for ur reply and also congratulations for getting through.

60% overall is the right and good criteria. But in my case i got 76.66 in X,91.9 in plus 2 and in B.Tech i got 66 percent with backlogs.In cat i got 80.68 percentile.But i didnt make it.By seeing the above post u might all have above 90 percentile.They took my interview only for 45 mins.In that tell me about yourself,what is management,functions of management and 2 or 3 academics.
Irrelevant to this thread:I am a fresher 2006 passout.I attended infosys (HR)interview.They asked me why ur percentages are increasing and decreasing(inconsistent) with backlogs in B.E.I crossquestioned them why r u looking at academics and u r the only company asking for consitency.
I am continuing my answer and the words from the HR are u can leave now,we will get back to u. If u r selected u will get a mail.
This happened just 3 months back

I feel this is the right moment for seniors to upload this year's placements at your website.. I'm wondering y u ppl haven't done that yet.. the website still shows the last year's placements.. seniors pls spk with the placement incharge and get it done so that we get all info in the website itself..

Congratulations to all who got selected !!!!!
Lots of queires regarding the refund of fees.
I think all the selected candidates must have got the call letter or email confirmation and its clearly mentioned there that what will be the amount which wll be refunded in case of any cancellation.
Second issue Plecements-
As i have already mentioned in my previous posts that college doesn't believe in promotion and don't releases placements figure in press.But for your convenience we are maintaining the database of the companies which have recruited from campus.

Apart from these companies around 8 more companies are coming to campus for recruitment and one of the company has a pay package of 16 lacs pa (after tax) i,e its around Rs 1,30,000 per month (in hand salary).
Till now Avg domestic salary is 5.5 lacs pa, highest domestic sals is 8.5 lacs pa and min sal is 3.3 lacs pa.
I think now the placement scene is quite transparent and guys one thing i can asure u that placements will get better year after year.

For those confused souls like me now, there's some info here. Spoke with the admissions office now and checked about the refund amount. They told in case we dont pay the fees before 15th March, admission stands cancelled. If we cancel after 15th March due to other better calls, they refund only the refundable part of it (Rs 7000 towards tuition and Rs 5000 towards hostel). So they'll be refunding only Rs 12000 out of the Rs 94000 that we pay. And they are also not ready to extend the date beyond 15th March for confirmation. Was disappointed after hearing this. Why dont these ppl understand our situations yaar!! Atleast the seniors must know that these are bound to happen every year and they should speak with the admissions in-charge.

So what are u ppl going to do? I have no clue on what to do. This is a good college I have no doubt in that. But obviously, anyone would like to choose the best option that he has. Right? Since other results are on queue, why are not they giving us some more time to think and decide? Really ridiculous.

i believe there is an aicte norm that insti's should give at least 15 days before cancelling admission.
but in this case,they are providing only 10 days!!gross violation...

64,57,64,62,53,65,64......... IN ALL SEMS... THESE MARKS ARE NOT CONSISTENT RIGHT...!!! I HAVE APPEARED FOR INFY IN CAMPUS RECRUITMENT... ND DURING INTERVIEW THEY ASKED ME BOUT THE 'NON CONSISTENCY ' IN MY ACADS... ND I WS NOT SELECTED for that reason... MAY BE INFY IS TOO MUCH FUSSY BOUT 'ConSisTeNy ' ND ONE MYT NOT BE ABLE TO JOIN IT AFTER SPENDING 5 LACS ND TWO YEARS OF YUR LYF AT SDM IMD lol

Hey Surabhi and other seniors@SDM-IMD,

I had done my GD/PI really well and was expecting to find my name in the Merit-List itself, but made it in the Wait-List 1...

They have not mentioned how many students are there in the waitlist. I just want to ask u guys, generally how many candidates will there be in the Wait-list? and in the previous admission scenario,how many opted out and how many in the wait-list got a chance??

Plz answer these queries.... I am hell-bent on joining this inst n plz pray for me guys..!!
