Im goin thrugh my last semester exams...project final review the foll week and then two theory papers to go. Will have very less time to chill out though, before i come.since exams get over only on May 11th.
Am leaving on June 2nd from Chennai and reporting to the Hostel on june 3rd.

Hi everyone seems to b quite lull at this thread anyways Summer have taken a toll on everone..talking about Summer i would elaborate it to [email protected] seniors are out for summer interships to get a hand on experience in Corporate beforing actually unlearning the learning and experience from Horse's mouth.Hopefully the intership would b going smoothly.......
At the same time i would like to put forward my Querry to Sursharma,Abhishek and other seniors about summer [email protected] we have 100% placements for even summers or we need to arrange it by ourselves by approching companies individually, I understand that sometimes some students arrange it for individual good but they fall in majority so i wud like to know the ground realities as guys wud have experinced recently.If we have achieved 100% pls tell us which companies moved to campus this time to recruit pple.Do we experience companies from diverse sectors for example IT ,MFG ,ITES BANKS, FMCG,INSURANCE,PHARMA,Consulting if any.....Kindly help us in this regard and please shower some light on this issues...Thanks in advance.

Summer Internship is a part of curriculum so u cannt skip it. There is no question of 100% summer placement as it is mandatory for all.

I advice you all to sleeeeeeeeep properly and make up for the sleeeeeeeeeeeep which you would surely lose once you enter the capmus. It will be little difficult in the beginning due the sudden transition in ur lifestyle , but then this transition is for GOOD.
We all are right now busy with our Summer Internships and would be joining the coll on 11th June when our session starts.
Plz do not worry about the laptop because ul have lots of options to choose from and vote for the best make.

The Summer placement picture painted by Abhishek and sursharma is quite intresting and wonderful..i would like to say special Thanks to them as they are really taking pains in mid of Summers to help junis...Also we have Sameer 1983 after so many days to give adVICE..as per list we have Public sector to Private sector,Banks to PSU.s,MFG to Pharma.Also we have IT in spartan..here i would like to ask Has TCS Austalia offered foreign placements or students are handling Project based in Australia just curios to know . Also last time we had Philips offering foreign SIP, what is the scene this time any foreign interns....Also i would like to ask that our SDM website is not updated with This year Placements,still we have placement Reported of 2005-06 and not updated still...why is it so ..

Thanks sameer for ur advice on laptops u shud hav seen the discussion in Orkut abt it in our commmunity. people are getting worried sick abt laptops.
Some say the market price is less than that is offered to us at campus.. some think we wont be getting latest tech pieces at college, so they shud get it outside( i dont know wat we wud do with latest piece, all we need is some features to be usefull at college, and after college we can upgrade it.). anyways i decided long back that i am gonna buy at college so i am keeping my head cool..

Frankly speaking abt the laptops....there is no Hi tech feature that u wud need here... its upto the stud wat he wanna purchase....
You can even do with a laptop costing 35 k n also with one costing 60 k..... iwth more features...
Only req is Wi-FI, bluetooth n few more.. which i guess r basic laptop config....
Here we use laptops for online study since most of the study material is avail on faculty back up.. we need to copy thsoe files to our system... make presentations, resports... n few softwares tat u might make use of in Operations or systems subj..
Thats it guys.. its ur take.... u have the last say... u can either purchase in coll or purchase on ur own..

Q: Is there any preparotory class after we join the college as it is there in most of the B-Schools to get prepared for hitchiking actually during MBA...?If yes do we need to prepare ourselves for it ...?
Q:Does SDM has tie up with any Bank for Student or Education Loan.if yes do they faciliatate easy procurement of loan at competitive interst rates and feasible EMI...?
Q:Is it viable to get loan at Mysore with some local bank like VIJAYA BANK,CANANRA BANK or SYDICATE BANK..? ALso is ther any Discount loans on more number of(bulk deal) candidiates seeking loan from particluar bank..?

Regarding the loan i just know that SDM has a tie up with Vijayabank in mysore but wen i asked the guy at admission office he said we hav to try on our own even if its vijayabank.. they dont provide it thru college.
and UFO wats ur name yaar... and who is gonna be my batchmate at sdm.. i know a few harshil, naveen, kaushik since they are also in orkut wat abt others?

Seniors, I have a doubt - Throw us some light on the dress code. Can we wear T-Shirts during the college premises. How many days a week, we need to wear the suit given from College. When it comes to Formal Shirts are full hand ones a must.

I have a very sad story to share regarding SDM-IMD.............the institute pride itself as a value based institution.........against commercialization of education...........but the truth is the institute is ruthlessly commercial.. I got selected for pgdba 20007-2009.............paid first installment............but later withdrew as my mother was ill..............but after numerous letters,e-mails and phone calls, the institute is blatantly not paying me a single penny..............I ask every one concerned that why the institute is negelecting the aicte directive in this regard..................the aicte directive is below......

This way the high and mighty, who are running these management institutes are looting students at large.....and I will request aicte to cancel the institutes affliation to check this corruption some way............
