I have a very sad story to share regarding SDM-IMD.............the institute pride itself as a value based institution.........against commercialization of education...........but the truth is the institute is ruthlessly commercial.. I got selected for pgdba 20007-2009.............paid first installment............but later withdrew as my mother was ill..............but after numerous letters,e-mails and phone calls, the institute is blatantly not paying me a single penny..............I ask every one concerned that why the institute is negelecting the aicte directive in this regard..................the aicte directive is below......
http://www.aicte.ernet.in/download/comm.doc
This way the high and mighty, who are running these management institutes are looting students at large.....and I will request aicte to cancel the institutes affliation to check this corruption some way............

Also U need not double post ur views to be understood in wrong way.refrain from it ..read newbee guide. my advice would be instead of ruing fate of urself please talk to college authorities in a polite way.esp after AICTE directive i am sure this way only u can have what u want..........i hope u understood the policy matters and take it in right spirit.

SDM-IMD
Hi all SDMites!
Im Gaurav Verma (B.Tech. graduate fresher) from Dehradun. This debut e-mail is an attempt to interact with those encephalic icons of SDMIMD who, despite their busy itinerary, still have managed to make things more transparent to their descendents.
Im proud to be a part of that Institute where Quality & Values matter above all.
Although theres a lot of stuff that could be shared but keeping in mind your limited time,
let me cut to the heart of the matter. I would be glad to receive feedback on:
- Professional or Amicable ambience? Im a bit curious to know whether the milieu at IMD is professional (based on seniority) or amicable (more like a family).
- Where is the deity SDM exactly located? How far it is from college and what are various connectivity means to visit this fetish pilgrimage?
GAURAV VERMA
(PGDBA 2007-09)
Hi Gaurav...
Well the ambience at SDM is amicable... More like a family... You start feeling it on the very first day...
As for the deity SDM is located in Dharmasthala which is about 8hrs journey from Mysore.. some where close to Mangalore...
Well.. If you are so keen on visiting Dharmasthala, you dont have to wait for long... The college takes you on a two day, compulsary, free of cost trip to Dharmasthala to have a gala time :satisfie:
@Abhishek
Working more than 12hrs per day!!!!?? ... Hmm.. Are you near completion of the project?
Well... I had to collect 400 samples.. Nearly done with it... started preliminary analysis...
Hey you guys seem to be missing from orkut... Do post there too...
Shruthi

hello seniors,
As mentioned in the earlier mails, can you please pass on the info abt the placements.
If not officially by the college, can you give the rough estimates of the placements and the break up in various sectors.
Also, which company picked the max students and what was the highest, mean and least offered sal this time.
Any new companies this time?
Regards,
Naveen
Hello ppl
M back after a long time. Well placements..........As all of u are aware we are not in college and all the info that we had has already been shared. Even the summer placement info has been shared. Kindly go thru those posts and I will try to get some new info about placements for all of u.

The countdown to campus is drawing its course. Im glad to notice that seniors are diligently elucidating all sorts of enigmas. I would be glad to receive feedback on:
- Is there any dress code during official/unofficial timings? Are we allowed to wear Jeans, Cargo & T-shirts during classes/otherwise? Tell about footwear too.
- What are various connectivity means between IMD & Mysore Railway Station? How can one commute distance of 7 Km. conveniently with luggage?
- Keeping in view annual climes would you advise carrying warm clothes for winters to a person who plans to isolate him/herself for an year? (I intend to ask this question for those who are coming from far distances.)
- Which bank ATM is in/near campus?
- For Yoga classes do we have to compulsorily wear Kurta Pajama? If yes then is it provided by the Institute or we can carry it with us before joining?
- Is the cafeteria (comestibles on payment) in campus a 24 hrs service?
These are some trivial questions which are triggering my mind.
Looking forward to your response.
GAURAV VERMA (PGDBA 2007-09 Batch)
Hi Gourav,
I can answer few of your quires if not all.......
1. The nearest ATM is SBI , which is about 5 mins walk from our college.
2. The distance between Railway station & SDM-IMD is about 7kms. You have a good connectivity with buses upto 11pm at night & plenty of auto rickshaws or Taxies, which can drop you to IMD any time.
For the remaining questions , even i'm eager to get an answer from the senoirs........
CIAO...
Srini....
hi gaurav,
im priya and i too am your batchmate....
i can add light to two of your queries...
Dress code : mon, tue , wed ...its formals during the lecture or class hours
other days of the week informals are allowed during class hours.
(i got the information from our senior Ms.Surabhi)
after college hours they donot restrict on the type of clothing.
Winter wear: Mysore, the nights can be chill.
It's advisable to carry a quilt to use at night.
It can be cold and a little foggy during the rainy and winter mornings.
So carry a light jerkin handy for cold weather.
Guess this should help you...
Hello People
Dress Code: its a management school and not any ordinary graduation college whr u can wear anything and evrything. i think we r mature enough to decide what shud be appropiate to be worn in a class in such a college. well there are no rules as to the dress but it wud be better if u wear formals. saturday and sunday casuals. and dress includes footwear as well.
Yoga: u can wear anything u want for yoga, kurta pajama is not compulsory. but do attend otherwise u will have to attend extra classes. well rules regading yoga were supposed to change this yr......m unaware if any such thing has happened.
Cafeteria: Mess closes at 10. Canteen closes at around 10.30 depends on Shetty's wish(owner) and nescafe also closes by 11. well during exams canteen is open till early morning.
ATM: nearest ATMs are SBI, ICICI and Corporation bank, BOB is in the city so sometimes it gets difficult to go to the ATM. these ATMs are 5 mins drive from the college u cant walk upto there.
the other queries have been answered well by srinivas and priya.
chill and enjoy ur time at home and sleep well
Surabhi
hey junta!!!!

Anyways how ru guys ........ project kesa chal raha hai ...

This is in response to some enthusiastic questions by our very own first years.

About the dress code:
Dude(s) like my colleagues would say, wear formals whenever you have a class, except on sunday when anything ( not jungle wear ) willl do. During events, better be in your best formal wear, it really helps. After class, no such restrictions. Inside the hostel, your choice.
Connectivity:
There is an auto stand nearby, and is a five min walk from campus. Also next to the auto stand is the bus stand in case you are a environmentalist and like to use public transportation. The railway station is about 7 kms, bus station is about 4 kms. City bus stand is about 4 again. For luggage, and all please use auto. auto drivers in mysore are friendly and speak the language of your choice. Just tell them to go near Chamundi hill.
Climate:
Climate is not chilly as i would but it is cold you do not have to bring the entire world's cotton supplies with you, but a jacket should suffice to tide over the cold days.
Money transfer to hand from machine:
You have ATMS of ICICI, SBI, Corporation Bank at about a km ( five mins on byk). please do not forget to bring your card, before entering the ATM.
Yoga classes:
Well, kurtas are not mandated. Jogging outfits which allow for easy movement are more than sufficient. white outfits are prefferred. but you can know more specific information about yoga by contacting me in b school.
And the in-campus canteen is not exactly 24 hours. may be till 10 or 11 o clock you can say. exam times, may be till 12 o clock.
Other information:
You can get currency, at a shop which is again less than 10 mins by walk.
Anything else, let me know. Hope my info was helpful, and see you guys on 7th of JUne.
hello folks...
all the best to everyone...moi reaching campus on 3rd june..happy journey to one and all.
