We started with Mandar & Ashutosh giving insights to aspirants about...
* how they should conduct themselves in the GD
* how to be assertive without being aggressive- ppl, this is a very important point, u need to make sure that u've driven ur point effectively without being rude or aggressive abt it!!
* also explained were the techniques to open ur account in the GD.. it is very important that u dont sound like u've inturuptted or just jumped into the GD without having a logical point to contribute...
* u all shd also keep in mind that in a GD, weightage is given to ur content & hw u present ur point to the members & NOT ON HOW MANY times you speak in it.
* one common mistake all the aspirants make is looking to the panelists while speaking & not addressing the group, guys n gals, plz remember IT IS A GROUP DISCUSSION SO DISCUSS LOOKING AT THE GROUP...

As part of Virtualities 09, our annual B school fest, we are hosting Tran$act, a finance game under Mudarank-our finance module wherein we invite the MMS/ PGDM colleges of Mumbai for showcasing their skills on the same platform. We urge you to encourage your students to grab this opportunity.
PARTICIPATION:
Only one entry per college in a team of two students.
The event is spread over two phases.
Phase I would be an online elimination round which will be played on khelostocks.com on March 19, 2009. Kelostocks.com is an online trading website which allows to trade on stock market on virtual basis. The details of the same will be forwarded along with the link and user id on confirmation from your side.
The record time for sending confirmation mails for participation is till 6.00pm on March 18, 2009. Registration would be accepted through e-mail on [email protected]
Once registered through email, the link for preliminary round and user ids will be mailed across on March 18, 2009 by 8.00pm and the preliminary round begins on March 19, 2009 at 9.55pm.The participants can play preliminary round by logging on to khelostocks.com on March 19, 2009.
Phase II would be playing of Tran$act event on SIESCOMS campus on March 22, 2009.Top 10 players of preliminary round will be eligible to play Tran$act.They would be intimidated through e-mail.The elimination of top 10 players is through a computation of maximum value of portfolio of top 10 traders.

It has been quite a diverse n special experience:w00t: for the past ten months and through the end of 1st yr of PGDM at education gurukul called SIES College of Management Studies popularly known as SIESCOMS.

Atlast year one got over. Whattta year it was !!! Fulll of fun and learning... i am confident each one of us have become better managers.... I believe during this year.. we have become an over all MBA... Now sem 3 focuses more on the domain knowledge.
Its quite heartening to know that yet another year we had 100% placements for summers and final. Especially during these trying times with the situation grim and other mumbai colleges still struggling to get placed in decent profiles and majority of the cases where students are trying themselves, our college placement department have done a great job!
All you guys who have enrolled in PGDM for 09-11 , a warm welcome to all you guys. Your college would probably commence from the 2nd week of july ( 6th probably).
