Mr. Happy29 ,It's Happy all the way..........
Words cant describe the feelings.you have to be at XL to feel the phenomenon called XL.....as for the book, i will write only if you co-author with me
so another excellent summers at XLRI....in spite of the economic turmoil, entire batch placed within 4 days :)
XL rawks!
Every time XL meri jaan is played at the end of the wet night and we all sing it hand in hand, the XL bond is refreshed.
So finally, SIP 2012 got over officially with 6 hours of music and booze.
Love you XL!!
Diwali is here and the campus is abuzz, huge celebrations planned today, crackers rangoli lights, and ofcourse the feast . Everyone is in festive mood, even the profs
Pain of missing the family is there but then we have the pleasure of celebrating it with this family the XL family.........
Happy Diwali to all
In past few days we have had 3 quizzes and 2 presentations and many more quizzes are lined up in the future. Plus the diwali celebrations and XL Utsav have left every one in a dreamy state. Those were the apt display of XL culture and the fun we had was simply too much to be described in words. The fact that we had a quiz next day after the UTSAV did not dampen the spirits. Bummers are enjoying the fact that HR people are working hard while they have had a relatively chilled out week. On top of it they just went through a grand dinner feast ,suited and booted it reminded us of the nostalgic moments of term I.
The campus is abuzz (silly me--kabhi XL bhi chup hua kya 😁 ) as preparations for ENSEMBLE go on full swing. Whats more we would also be free from the quizzes and tests (momentarily) by then. Am already too excited for ENSEMBLE. Its gonna be big and its gonna be grand.
P.S. Yours truly has been asked to write an article on Life @ XL...... What an honor ( I am so loving it)
I missed all of the above as I had gone to attend Insight : consulting conference organized by CRUX at Delhi. It was an awesome and exciting experience, more on it later
Have not posted for long here. 5 terms have zoomed past and we will be starting classes for 6th term from 12th dec. Mr.Kat was doing Bhraman abroad in the last term (he did have a blast there).
PPO have been good in 5th term with urs truly, Mansi Lko, Gurvit and Mr.Kat all getting one. Our dear D_1 is getting all geared up for laterals by playing the new rockstar game BULLY (he stayed back to read books for laterals).
We all have decided to live this last term at XL fully and make some wonderful memories. More on that later
After lazing out for a month or so, I finally decided to end my hibernation and brief our readers with some avid descriptions of the times gone by. We witnessed one of the rarest :shock:period at XL where nothing happened!! I mean nothing out of the ordinary.
Ever since we came back from our fabled journey where we struggled through delayed trains (delayed by just 22 hours), burning bogeys (needless to say it was our coach that caught fire
), fights over saving a fabled pen and sleeping competitions, we were rushed through mechanical motions. Everyday same old same old, attending classes from 9 to 9, with little breaks in between. The period of 15 days was pretty unusual by XL standards- no assignments or deadlines. There were a few but they were far too easy and too far off they didn't ring any alarm bells (maybe we have got immune to these now, or is it too early to say ?
)
But in between these times when we were not attending class or making a project report or sleeping we had fun times as well. Sportscom particularly kept us allinterested with interesting events "BEER PONG" :drinking:(ooh i so wanted to partcipate but certain stringent rules of 1 girl per team deflated my morale) and then who can forget the El Classico night. Awesome football on giant screen with fans shouting at each goal or near miss and intense rivalry ......it was heaven for sports lovers. Thank you sports comm for a lovely semester.
Then we tried our hands at cricket too. HR An B fighting for honours (B won ) then bummers too found some time from their busy schedule to play a match n by luck they won.
It is said unlucky is the fellow who has his birthday when at XL and yours truly too savored those lucky traditional moments. Oh man what beating was that, not easy to forget but the birthday I had was by far the best, with all my friends and sweet ladies coming over to give me a good beating , it was hard to say no
.......and the celebration that followed were LEGEND-wait for it-DARY.
Then came the exams and all hell broke loose, with increasing winters it was difficult to say whether the chill settling was due to the exam season or just the seasonal change. But as always we braved through both the winters and the exam chill and greeted the holidays with open arms. Even now I am sitting comfy cozy in my home, recalling the moments that went by............
and what moments were they...
This deserved a special post.....
Before coming to XL we were (through these forums and by words of our wise seniors) warned of the impending dangers that QT (yes the same that features in XL meri Jaan too) and he who must not be named.
While QT went on smoothly (except for the exams and grades part ) our other subject too was cut in half. And we HR were tad bit lucky too as we didn't had to face You-Know-who :nono:or his assignments for an entire term. But poor bummers they weren't so lucky. Such was their plight that they used to submit one assignment and by the time they would return to their room another was waiting for them. I heard their results came out too yesterday and boy those who passed how elated they were. Screw grades they were happy that they made through! Some however were not that lucky.:sneaky:
But HR faced a graver danger, one not known or talked about. but the heights of sadism achieved were truly unmatched. Those 10 sessions( yeah the Gods had pity on us here too and we had to bear only half a course) were the most scariest we ever had in our two terms. Not only the exams but even the classes were hell. One could land into a pile of deep Sh*t only by not bringing his name tag. I only hope the Gods spray their mercy on future HR guys as well otherwise we would be damned
Then we tried our hands at cricket too. HR An B fighting for honours (B won ) then bummers too found some time from their busy schedule to play a match n by luck they won.

khair...enjoying the much needed holidays after this dreadful trimester....
hope to have fun tym in the next with SPAXI, maxi fair and the xl-iimc meet...
I only saw the 1st match and yea BM was lucky (sahir hitting 3 sixes in the last over saved u), i didnt knew bout the 2nd match. 40 odd is pretty bad i admit. anyways this battle will continue, its good we are sharpening our claws before the IIM C guys come here, can't wait to slaughter them :D
SPAXI, IIMc, MAXI just a few of the many things to look forward to, dont forget the senior placement....our time to wke them up by item numbers lol
young monk SaysHOW many of us think that ...this time college has given "TOO MUCH" term-break .... getting damn bore here at home.... and sad thing is that, these leaves decreases our next term leaves, just before the "SUMMER Internship"... aisa lag raha hai seedhe bhagna padega
Bhai tujhe zyada lagi!! wish i could have had those holidays u thot were extra

So after a three week break we are back to XL. Amidst the customary new year wishes and Hello Hi's, HR were in for a surprise. We have been joined by a german student for this semester and needless to say SHE

The feeling of home once again........
the decor, the ambience, the food, the bonfire and the gatka.......it was nostalgia revisited.......a day late but an unforgettable day..........SPAXI NIGHT was an unforgettable Xperience......
Punjabian di shaan Wakhri....
Non stop Bhangra.... Non stop Masti....
as one of the seniors put it
We have placement related worries as recession looms over, we have assignment to do, classes to attend...
Still we have all the time to smile, share and dance to make some wonderful and carefree memories...
Cheers to the spirit of XLRI and SP@XI......
Cultural nights, Art of Living workshop, MAXI fair, counselling forum, french classes (in addition to the regular ones), so many cases and projects to work on, so many reports to table and so many presentations.......and its barely two weeks into the third term (seems like eternity already)......and the cases and presentations have just started.
Amidst all the turmoil that Xlers face, we also underwent 3 days of Art of living course. Well it wasnt exactly life altering but some of the things were truly helpful.
The tables have tuned on the HR guys as we are barely able to meet the deadlines The Bummers are having a sigh of relief in this term and even enjoying the sorry state of HR. But we don't mind, poor things have already undergone this torture twice before so I think they deserve a break. But HR subjects are too wreaking their nerves
A host of cultural nights have already happened and many more are lined up.
The MAXI fair began with all the pomp and show today and it was really heartenign to see the tribal dance performances among other things. Students have worked hard on making it a success and the huge turnaround definately showed their rewards.
But the most awaited thing is the MAHASANGRAM, a big sporting event. The college has been divided into three franchises with their own owners and managers (me being a manager of one of them) and the stage is set for entire college to go viral. I am so looking forward to it..... Its really gonna be LEGENDARY
Slowdown.....downturn.........poor market......economic unstability..........XLers once again laughed at these terms. The seniors have proven their mettle and faced adverse conditions and challenges with their toughness and emerged victorious. The final placements culminated within 4 days. Talking about poor conditions.....lol.....its party tym
Last post from room number 435 of TSTMR hostel in XLRI.
Normally exams me padhne ka man nahi karta tha,aaj to likhne ke ka nahi kar raha tha.
Goodbye XLRI...To home now with Mr.Kat
Thanks a lot for 2 gr8 years and loads of life long memories and friends :):)
This is that time of the year when the feeling starts to sink in that we were so lucky to have the senior batch of 2010-12...seniors...u guys rock..

I just cant even think of cracking XAT.
That too after this acads thing... I better make a time machine and try again
