BTW ... Amitabh here 😛
Phew what a couple of days, won the best product promotion in Maxi Bazaar (Marketing Event), won football finals against PMIR (2-1 on penalties) (I played Center midfield), and just won a game of spider solitaire....
Have slept close to 6 hours in the last 48... and its gonna be another night out with submissions due tomorrow.
Now where did I put my coffee mug....
This definitely needs a mention out here!
A beautiful walk-through video of the campus of XLRI, as taken by one of our faculty, Prof. Madhukar Shukla :)

Uff these vella seniors :sneaky:
I had just logged on after a long day, to post this link, and ninja bhaiya pehle hi aa gaye. :frown:
Folks, try going through http://tinyurl.com/64ds3cand then compare with the tour posted by ninja.
Another thing...life here is fun!! I obviously will let you guys make your own decision by getting here, and experiencing it, but 2-3 hour long heated project discussions, back-to-back lectures, gyaan sessions conducted by knowledgeable seniors, sports activities, study sessions, library visits, and loads of fun....that's XL for you!
Seriously, XL is not just a b-school, it's an experience. And even in a short span of two weeks, we have learnt to respect the profs for their enthusiasm and knowledge, the seniors for their committment, and eagerness to help, the non-teaching staff for their proactiveness in everything, and the fellow students for the intelligence, diversity, and fun that they contribute.

:) Don't worry....there are lots of us from Dilli, and we're having a rocking time here.
Even though the city is pretty small, life is chill here simply because one doesn't get to go out that often, with so much to do on campus itself. However, in and around the city, there are some nice spots to visit, and one can really chill out there... :)
Check out my orkut album to see some picturesque spots that we folks visited.

Hey, I'll answer your query since I've lived in Delhi for the last 20 years.
Yes, Jamshedpur is not a metropolitan, and I had the same apprehensions as you. But as soon as you get here, you'll realize that materialistic comfort is no substitute for XL companionship. You might miss air conditioned bed rooms, but spending the night with your buddies watching Euro finals mitigates the effect.
I've been here for a fortnight and have adjusted already, you go to the market once or twice, usually to eat out. Apart from that we have a general store on campus which sells everything from phone connections to buckets. Its quite sufficient. We also have a few good restro-bars (good by Delhi standards! ) and a few eat outs in Jampot.
Food wise, you'll have a hard time if you're a typical Delhi foodie like me. Im used to extremely spicy food. But its all good here, like today we had Soup + Pav Bhajji + Dosa + Milk Shake + Spring Rolls (yummy yumm yumm!!) + Chocolate/Fruit Pastry. There's always chicken rolls and fried maggi at Dadu's. (More about Dadu's sometime later). And every evening we have some snack along with tea, sandwitches, bread rolls, pakoras, bhel puri, french fries etc. You also have the option to join the student community which decides the menu.
As for the campus, its beautiful. Im attaching a pic of the hostel block.....
This will help you guys...

Aimmba, it is great to see your enthusiasm for knowing about XL life, and culture. However, as many seniors and peers would agree with me, XL life is an experience, which words can never do justice to. So, if you're really really keen on getting here, make the most of the next few months, and work your heart out, to make it.
Hope to see you here.
P.S. Also, it'll help if you could avoid quoting the entire post made by another person, and could just quote the relevant bits. 😃

yes u rite....but XAT is quite a nut to crack with differential marking.......differntial -tive marking and god knows what all.........nyway would endeavour to give the bestest i can........ny tips for cracking XAT?
dear aimmba
pg is definitely the right place for u to ask for tips for cracking a b-school exam and we all will definitely be very happy to help u, but this is not the right thread for that. This one's dedicated for sharing our xl experience, and while we don't mind answering ur querries related to xl life, the right place for ur academic queries would be the XAT and other B-school exams related thread.
All the best for ur endeavors and hope 2 see u here next year!
cheers;)
