@Adymos By Streams u mean ?
@naman.tuteja Thanks Naman. The present batch there has 15 Indians and I suppose this year they want to restrict the number. I understand that the second stage interviews are presently on hold. Any inputs?
@VSCPC Frankly no idea on whether the 2nd stage interviews are on hold or not. But I know few people have their 1st interview lined up.
@VSCPC Hey yea, u're right i had my first round today and they told me that although they liked me but they're quite full with the admits for this year. Also, that it would take at least another 3 weeks for them to even get back to me about the details for the second round.
@naman.tuteja said:@suresh_237 thanks buddy.....do keep the info flowing this is what I had received from Stefanie earlier in Feb: -Applicant ´s conditions:- you need to prove 15,000 Euros of savings (to be able to finance living costs during the program on your own)- current monthly income of >1000 Euros-proof of current salary (last 3 salary statements)- min. of 3 years work experience, GMAT>600- acceptance at MBSFor your information, here theApproximate loan conditions (need to be reconfirmed with Sparkasse):- loan of min of 10,000 Euros, max 30,000 Euros- payback time over 8 years- interest rates approx. between 8-9% (exact rates need to be confirmed with Sparkasse!)- 100% payback starts 6 months after graduation- 1% payback starts immediately after graduation
Is it a compulsion? What if one doesn't have that much of monthly income??
@hramkhor well I assume in that case the loan would not be given.....however this would need to be discussed with the bank on a case by case basis....
@naman.tuteja How good is HHL compared to Mannheim? How is it placed with respect to getting jobs in Germany post MBA?
@VSCPC Hi, Well the top3 schools in Germany are (in the correct order) : -
Mannheim
WHU
HHL
Regarding job search, it all depends on the network as well the location. HHL is in a good location where yo can network with the future employers. WHU has moved its campus to dusselldorf now, a good place for networking. However I went with Mannheim since it is the best in Germany and the brand name do matter.
@naman.tuteja Thanks Naman. I would also prefer Mannheim in case they decide to resume their second round of interviews! Just thinking of HHL as a backup as WHU is already closed for the year and I am running against time as I am 42 now and need a quick turn around in my career.
@VSCPC True. I got through WHU'2014 and was thinking to postpone the admit to the WHU'2015 batch since it would be too early or I would say a short notice for me to join for WHU'14 , when Mannheim MBA'2014 happened....and I forgot WHU after that. The admission criteria was more tough than WHU with a cast study analysis as well. Put a lot of efforts in that and hence went for Mannhiem.
Note : mentioned the program end year above.
Regards.
@Adymos Well you can research about the tracks on their website, the options etc in the different tracks. They have introduced a new global track from this year.
Wooohooo! Received my admit from MBS!!!
@naman.tuteja, @suresh_237 @vikr84: Guys, I have a discrepancy regarding the contract...
One of four components of the contract (Pr蝡病ungsordnung) is written entirely in German (and so I don't understand a word of what's written there). I've written to Stefanie requesting her for an English version of the section. But she's currently out of office and won't be returning before my e-mail submission deadline.
Did you guys face a similar discrepancy? Or did you ignore it and submit the signed contract anyway?
Did you guys face a similar discrepancy? Or did you ignore it and submit the signed contract anyway?
@shivsu I tried translating a bit but didn't work out..So i just ignored it and went ahead with signing the contract.
Those who got in, I want to ask a few basic questions as I am considering Germany seriously for my MBA:
1. Do they give out any sort of scholarships? Anybody in with a scholarship this year? If yes, pls share your profiles.2. What are the approx. living expenses in Germany for the stay period? Fee would come out to be around 24. How much extra do we need considering our post MBA stay at Germany for job hunting purpose.
3. How are you planning your expenses? Are you guys financially well-off or considering loan as an option? I ask cuz I hardly have any savings in my bank account and would be totally dependent on loans.
4. Is loan available only for our education fee or living expenses as well?
TIA.
