hi...i have been following this thread for 2 months...now decided 2 joined in... hi guys...i am vikas...i am 10th in general waiting list:cheers:...hope to get through if i not encounter with any tsunami(faced CAT,XAT,SNAP:splat:)...hope this time a significant amount of candidates get pour out... can anyone solve my problem...i heard that there are around 53 seats for general category...if all waiting list too get selected,still make the no.61...then in worst 2 worst condition i am in!!!:D...clarify if i am wrong...:wow:

Hey shruti..what about FFAE and its impact on MBE? and the two new prof who have joined?
Hi anmol, don't be so concerned. FFAE is likely to form and come into effect from this session commencing July 2010. But it will only mean that the two courses ( MBE & MFC ) will come under a common umbrella and this will enable the courses to access the common resources ( in this case Faculty members ). But the courses will definitely retain their entity as the objective of both the courses were never same.
The main thing to note here is that the course structure gets constantly updated as per industrial standards and the percentage strength of candidates from other backgrounds ( like Engineering, Science e.t.c. ). This is rather the most important aspect of any professional course.
Regarding placements ( the ultimate goal ) : I don't think there will be a major reshuffle, as MFC is solely related to Finance and will find mostly the investment Bankers. The extent and depth to which MFC people will involve themselves in Finance is definitly more than people in MBE, who will rather get exposed to Economics, Practical application of Econometrics and relevant subjects. So, even if an MBE candidate is picked up by an Investment Bank the profile or the package will be different from that of an MFC guy ( Seniors please correct me if I am wrong .... ). And as Shruti had given an idea of this years placement figures in her previous post it seems MBE is no where lagging behind.
Well, There has been lot of confusion regarding Merger of MBE and MFC.
Let me clarify that even if both the departments are reorganized under one faculty, that will be beneficial to the students as it will ensure access to more resources.
Placement activities at MBE are run by students with support of all the faculty members.
For outstation candidates, you people need to apply for hostel separately, forms will be out somewhere in June. Keep checking the following website:

As per the confusion regarding MBE-MFC merger here are a few clarifications :
1.Both courses will retain dere individual identity.In MBE u wud be awarded a degree stating MBE only
2. As of nw,placements would be held separately for both the courses.placements are co-ordinated by students only in MBE with d help of the faculty.
3. Only the faculties would be merged nd not the courses.it means better finance faculty for ppl taking up finance as specialization in MBE nd better economics faculty for ppl in MFC.the course structure would be more or less the same as the current structure.

The forms for both the mens hostel,saramati & Aravali will be out in mid june.. hostel admission takes place in 3-4 phases..please read the hostel brochure on the website south.du.ac.in The same applies to the Womans hostel.... You will have a small interview with the warden & the Provost on the day of hostel admission...
Hmm,I don't think so..Is it fun exploring the campus before you join it actually?Anyways most of friends personally came for taking admission..You can ask this at the department.
PS-Avoid coming late..The cashier closes at 3pm and the lunch timings are from 1-2pm..So preferable come early in the morning at around 10am.
I guess it would be a wise decision to come 2 campus and get a feel of it. moreover if u aspire to join the hostel...then it would be definitely reasonable 2 cm 2 campus.And yeah unlike us u dnt hvta worry... we just a got a new atm opened in campus.... so happy admissions....
Hi Shruti, Apart from the normal fees (around 10k per annum), is there any other fees/extra charges that need to be paid. Like MFC guys have to pay quite a lot for AFCON etc.

Yes buddy.. that is payable in all B skools.. Last year we paid an additional amount... (its expected to go higher this tym) and on subsequent semesters you wil need 2 pay exam fees...
Hi seniors!! Can you plz answer a few queries regarding MBE :- 1. Major recruiters and PRoFILEs offered in finance after passing out from MBE. 2. CFA or FRM with mbe? How much does CFA or FRM benefit with MBE at the time of placements? 3.Total amount that we need to deposit at the time of admission.

I guess the PC team would be more informed 2 answer your first query. I guess having an additional professional degree will definitely give you the extra edge..Some of my batchmates in 2009-11 batch are pursuing both the above courses simultaneously. You wil need to deposit Rs 11361.(in addition to that you wil hav to deposit around 15 grand or maybe more for placement,seminar etc etc,activities) Hope some of your lingering doubts are cleared...
is it mandatory 2 get a character certi frm the institution last attended . can i get it from a gazetted officer. actually i don have it right now n i have 2 go to my college(kanpur) n its having end sem exam over there right now so i doubt they b able 2 give me that ......
dude dont take so much of tension. moreover with regard to the documents.u can submit it at a later date. You need to give a very genuine reason(better be good at that):o Some students submitted their marksheets,migration & character certis as late as October...However u need to keep on keeping the office ppl informed... Kudos!!!

As far as i recall there were 3 waiting lists for all categories and admissions were taking place till august.. You will have to be patient enough and wait for the last date for fees payment of 1st list students.On that basis we can determine how many of the waitlisted get converted... Keep your fingers crossed....

If I am not getting you wrong then MBE releases more waitlist other than the current one .Please correct me if I am wrong.
And just like to ask that till wat waitlist got cleared last year .
Actually, I'm lukin for sm good job opportunities.. If get sm, then I mi8 drop the option for MBE..N I mi8 try nxt year.. So, ri8 I'm thinking of paying The fees of MBE.. Can any1 please throw sm light on the rules regarding refund of the admission fees..??

Another question I hav.... Wat is the best specialization one can take up in MBE...Keepin in mind the faculty,course n placement..... I agree it all depends on personal interest...still every institute has some strong or weak areas...
