My Life as a Bank Officer

@aparna1202 mam hw the experience like in shifting from IT to banking????
n was IT job really hectic:P
hii m sunil and m selected 4 customs inspector through ssc cgl 2011.
i would like to say many friends of mine r po and most of them r not satisfied with po jobs and they r trying their luck in ssc exams while non of inspectors r dissatisfied.
ssc cgl exams provide u with posts which give u power position and money and above all time 4 family life
so i will suggest go 4 ssc cgl exams
believe me it is better than po jobs
@beetard 1. How is 14500+DA=23000 only. I guess DA was 76.5% as of now. 2. Do you mean to say that you can get Rs. 16000 for lease rent allowance from bank in Mysore at Scale I.
@aparna1202 what are the working hours
are they more than that of IT?
@itsanujsingh i think i can answer your question.
the working hour depends on the location and the business of your bank. if you are in metro or tier 1 city, you have to spend at least 9-10 hour in a day at office but story is quite different at local or rural branches (less work, less pressure). at rural or semi urban branches, you can get away with 5-6 hours.
@amit066 thanks buddy
and one more thing how are the promotions in banks like whats the frequency in year to get a promotion
@itsanujsingh well its again varies from bank to bank. usually, minimum 3 year of service is required to get promotion from scale 1 (i.e PO) to scale 2 and there too, you need 2 years of rural branch experience but it's quite tough for banks to put you in rural branch because large number of candidates are selected and there are less number of rural branches to post. In short you can reach the level of "Assistant General Manager" in 11 years (that's what banks say) if you clear all the promotion process including rural posting. But actually the chance for same is only one in hundred...ATB
@winner_iima sir i would like to know..state government ldc is better or sbi assistant job is better...pros of sbi..promotion and perks and job security...pros of state government job...job security, less work load and no age bar to apply for any other jobs in the state...but promotions is very slow...
@warimiki
if you aspire for better govt jobs....a state govt ldc job will give you hell lot of time to study.....taking leave would be more easy, I guess.
You know the pros and cons yourself, it all depends on your long term goals.....
@winner_iima i was thinking the same thing..are you working in sbi now...i'm all the way from shillong...meghalaya...thank you for your response...i have one more question . i heard if you get promoted from bank clerk to po..there will be one exams and if you did'nt clerk you will get demoted again to bank clerk again...but if you join PO post direct and if you fail..you might even loose your job ..is this true..your reply would be very of great help and appreciated.
@winner_iima
@warimiki, its my pleasure!
I am not with SBI. I have heard, at the end of probationary period, the SBI direct recruits have to go through a test, if they don't clear it in 1st attempt they are given one or two chances. But as I am not with SBI, I cant give you the exact picture.

Dear Friends plz help me..i m selected as a clerk in SBI in my hometown and soon i've PO interviews for 19 PSU except SBI .. i just wanted to know should i Join PO in other PSU or stay with SBI ?

I also wanted to know about SBI promotion structure. Can anyone help .

Thanks in advance :)
@Anilswami1 Po result will be out after 5-6 months till that time u can opt for clerical job
