Thanks bro. The issue with leaving the bank is that I will have to wait for 2 years because of bond issues.

Hi icecool11,

There may be a condition of bond transfer between one PSU and another. There is a clear guidline in DPE (link enclosed in the bottom), which states that you can transfer the bond amount while joining another PSU or any other govt. org if you have applied through 'proper channel'. Now there is a bit of ambiguity in these two words which I need to find out. Till now my understanding says,

i) This guidline applies if you have applied for the future company only after you have joined the existing employer

ii) Your need to inform your present employer about the job application beforehand and carry a NOC for the interview

I hope some knowledgable puy would clarify this to a much greater depth and again this applies only IF THIS GUIDLINE INCLUDES PSU BANKS AS WELL

Thanks a lot bro. Superlike for this post.

The issue is that I have come across a post which says that except SBI no other bank gives NOC.Is it true? In that case, if UCO bank refuses to provide NOC, what can I do?

anybody have an idea about the perks and allowances in central bank of india during probation(PO).Does the allowances are allowed only after probation? like petrol bill and lease accommodation.

@meenaku : The age limit set by the govt is 30 years, i think.. so u need not worry.. its never too late. Many of them whom i know have joined at 27-28, but the work culture is way too different , you have give time to let that sink.
i have known people who have resigned on the first day of their jobs
@itsanujsingh : no fixed working hours but the minimum is 9 hours.. with the competition coming in from private banks, the management will pressurise you to put in more hours

Hi ..

I have got a little trouble here. My joining as PO in Uco Bank is on 28th january in Kolkata whereas I have got to attend the interview for ongc on the very next day,29th january in Delhi. I don't want to miss any. So what should I do? Can I request to the bank to defer the joining date by a week or so? Please please help

Wise words only 3-4 posts above.

@icecool11 thanks but bond transfer is not the issue here. I will definitely join in the bank but attending an interview the very next day seems difficult. Is it possible to postpone the joining date or take one week leave immediately after joining?
@banvasi Postponing the joining is not possible for UCO at least. Taking leave -may be. Just pretend you were sick. Nobody would throw you out for being absent for 1/2 days. Isn't that is all about the govt jobs!!
@icecool11 Ha Ha!!
doing a bank job is the most terrible thing that can happen to a person who is used to freedom since childhood, my parents never forced me to go mad about studies they just wanted me to do well . i joined a bank this year and i regret my decision now, you are made to work like slaves even when you have been given the rank of an officer and arguing prospects are really bleak when your seniors are 35 years older and can't take anything against there long nourished self respect. My manager reacts like a freak when i try to explain my point to him, i am really stuck here and i can't see myself sitting in a chair and being self satisfied doing jobs that mean a little as far as job satisfaction is concerned. whatever my friends have said earlier is true and i would suggest my friends to reconsider their decision of joining a bank. yes if you are just into making a handful of money and drinking you shit out every weekend in the name of having fun, go ahead! best!
