bhai 5 day working nahi hogi shayad.... as few indications are there from rbi.... and ministry rbi ki jayada sunta hai .... as it is the class monitor... in literal sense :|
But yes it very much depends upon how banks have put their arguments for 5 days working to ministry and how banks showed modulus operandi for managing 5 day working without losing business and w/o increasing customer grievance.
one such solution could be that if banks has to have a 5 days working then different branches should have holidays on different days so that if f customer finds one branch closed then he can go to other branch of the same bank .... and moreover ab cbs toh aa hee gaya hai.... toh home ya non home branch ki problem nahi honi chaheye
Instead of merely demanding 5 days working lets make this thread a place of intellectual debate for solutions .... no doubt our voice wont be heard but this debate will open up our minds for finding solutions...
I completed one year in our Bank's service a month ago.
When I look back, I find that I have got to know lot of things in this short span of time. The breadth of Banking operations is so vast and all we can do is make a sincere attempt to unravel it.
I have found that the work in a bank is very simple. you don't have to labor hard to do the even most complex of jobs (if there is any). There is no such thing as HARD in the execution part of this job.
BUT! there is a big but. The most critical and the most difficult aspect of this job as an officer is JUDGEMENT. How you judge and what decisions you take matters the most. After you take a decision, you can give effect to it in a couple of clicks.
Take the most basic aspect: passing a cheque for cash payment. you should know that most people hardly ever sign the way they signed in their signature specimen. What do you do then? Will you return the cheque? While returning the cheque on this ground how much are you convinced that it is a forged signature?
Since most of the signatures have changed with time, if you get 100 cheques a day then around 65 cheques wont be like the ones in the specimen, or better say, as you would have wanted them to be. How many cheques will you return in a day? How many dissimilarities will you ignore and pass the cheque? What would be your decision in case of Rs 1000 and Rs 1,00,000 cheques? Will it be different? Why? You are not supposed to deduct even Re 1, if the cheque is not properly drawn!
If you keep returning the cheques unnecessarily or take undue time to decide, firstly you are harassing customers (which is against your duty as a banker to the public) and calling for a complaint.
You cant also throw caution out of the window, just to give prompt customer service pass the cheque for payment even though you are not completely satisfied about the correctness of the signature.(which would be against your duty as an officer in a financial institution)
This was just the most basic example that I could quote to drive home the point to you.
You said our job is EASY. huh!
I am told this flair comes only through experience......so be it 😃

What they don €™t tell you about officers €™ jobs in Public Sector Banks
There is something inherently wrong with an organization and its HR policies in which the clerks of the organization do not aspire to get promoted and become officers! This singular aspect explains everything that is wrong with the policies of public sector banks in India.........
