My Life as a Bank Officer

@sgm87 hey thanx for the advice bro...can u tel me the time require to get promoted from PO to a higher level ??
@sgm87 is there any bond for SBI? do they go for campus placements?WHen is the next PO Exam?
@coolmeddy buddy in SBI at time of confirmation if u get 75% & above u get confirmed as scale 2 officer mind its middle management grade position,in most PSU banks this policy is followed.
@ayneil85 SBI is possiblly one of the few PSU banks which do not have any bond u can resign anytime in probation period had to serve 3 months notice period that can be shorten if you have enough leaves after probation one week is enough.
SBI in history had only one college placement as far as i know & it was of management trainee 07 batch & that to from esteem colleges of MBA,apart from this after independance SBI never conduct any campus placement programmes.
Well at least next five years there will be PO exam as vacancy because of expansion as well as staff at retirement is huge in number ,expect advertisement in april-june quarter each year.
@sgm87 why SBI has not come up with the notification for this year PO recruitment?(no ad in april-june Quarter)
My hometown is Mumbai,Can I lease back my apartment for accommodation Purpose?whats the minimum hike expected after 10th Bipartite settlement?what could be the min In hand salary after settlement? How is the recruitment done for SBI-Caps segment?

@ayneil85 because sbi is training 2700 po 2010 batch & 1000 po 2011 simultaneously, all trg institutes are packed plus sbi associate po batch also joined again last years clerks & recent 8000 clerks recruitment, boss this kind of recruitment is hectic one for any HR ,wait it will come.
no you cant lease your own apartment in any place across india its applicable for all PSU banks, approx hike expected 20% plus, now after settlement salary this is not at all guessable right now ,but belive me upto scale 3 private & public sector banks have same salary, even at some places PSU pay more that pvt.,so you are interested in sbocap, boss i also dont know about it am too interested to work in capital market, yes there are assignments for 3 years to serve in SBICAP from sbi,but permanent recruitments of SBICAP that i also dont know, resume can be deposited on there site.

guys what would be the inhand salary for assistant manager grade A in IDBI bank? and does the job security in IDBI is same as other PSBs ?

@PA_MBA inhand salary is more thn in psb

puys....have a look at the following link.....the story of a bank officer.....accountability and sticking to the basic laws are very important in surviving...

@saurabsabharwal ...lagta hai pee kar hi post kiya hai yueh post...hehheheheh
@coolcat2008 people in public sector have a rare disease.they believe that longer one stay in bank more he is committed to banking.of course they most of time will talk abt yar how much balance u have in ur OD account.ye to hamesha debit main hi rahta hai.they curse themselve for in banking and will tell hamne apne jamane main bahut kam kiya.clerk will always have his eyes on wall.5 kab bajenge.then they will talk yar bus ka pas bana liya ab to kiraya adha lagta hai.its very irritating.they make new people to do unproductive work many time as there is shortage of staff.like cash counter and clearing and all.its irritating and make one dull and non responsive
@kali4 rightly said! situation is pathetic....wen will these oldies retire!

heyyyyyyyy... its a silly question may be... but if anyone helps then appreciated.... i am a passout 2012 n looking for a job in bank or else... bt i m in a dilemma whethr the banks have a gud life or its monotonous ??... i dnt want a monotonous job!!! so shud i prefer IT job regarding my nature ??? or govt ????

If you look at it that way almost every job is kinda monotonous unless you are a researcher or scientist or a self-employed businessman. You will be basically required to do the same job everyday with some variations of course. Its the same in IT companies. Once you are assigned to a domain you will be restricted to doing that type of job only. So don't expect something thrilling in IT.

@anjali_sng It is a interesting job if you are willing to work extra hours and learn beyond what is expected of you. I myself joined as a clerk in Canara bank and believe me, the older staff packs their bag and leaves at 4:30. that is official end of working hours for clerk. but the kind of work that is there you need to wait back till atleast 6:00 so you learn everything. Right from RTGS, NEFT,Account opening, filing of income tax and other matters, which none of the senior clerks know how to do. In my case another clerk who joined one yr back told me that the older staff tend to go on leave all together, leaving her and one officer to handle counter by themselves. She had no guidance from older clerical staff. so she began waiting back and learning the job frm officers till 8:00 and now she is a pro, knows all rules about job on her fingertips and also orders this old staff around to do work. It is fun working with her. But since in our bank staff shortage is there one person has to do many different work so you get to learn a lot. Whereas in other banks where staff is plenty there person is restricted to doing only work of their department. so they dont get to learn more. so it depends from bank to bank and the attitude of staf

working enviornment is friendly???? n mostly people are of what age group ??? i hope u getting me
@anjali_sng most of the times it will be friendly. age group of the people will vary from young to the fag end of working career, but most will be old.
@Shweta_P
But i heard that they provide traning in almost all sections. Secondly I understand thre is a lot to learn but thre is also a chance of working for long hrs n get tierd.
Now if u leave your house at let's say 7 and return home at 8-9 that doesn't make sense of working 12 hrs a day!!!
And one of my sources also tell me that they shift u from tm to tm from one department to another that is FB, saving bank, etc......so u get a hang of everythng that is thre in a Bank!!!

So much work for just a pack of PEANUTS ( Very Less PAY)
Doesn't make sense..............
+ u hav to bear the silly talks & comments of those parochial oldies...........
No way ................Prepare for CGL , get any executive group B post ( Inspector) there .....& chillax enjoy.....power+ MONEY
Even non executive posts ( Assisstants in Ministries) are way Above PO jobs on account of Peace of MIND factor also salary higher ........
