@minakshisinha said: notice period is the period u need to serve in a company when u give resignation n they finally release u. they r asking this coz they want to know how long will u take to leave a company n join thr's. if u r a fresher or not working then just write nil.

Nt true in dis case... notice prd can also be 4 joining d company... n here NICL wants to know how long will u take to join ...

can someone explain me salary structure of oicl.....
i mean about inhand salary, deductions, increaments and promotions.

The company which i am working has a notice period of 3 months . Will it affect me adversely if i mention 3 months or should i just tell them that i can be available even earlier ?

@[539565:crabn3bula] hey guys.. any IT company gives you option to buy out... you can buy out the notice period and get your experience letter right away.contact your HR partner for this .. I am also employed with IT firm and I will do the same...

@[599587:deepika_raj_46] the thing u are telling is absolutely correct but in my case in lieu of 3 months notice period i have to pay them 3 months salary.....around 70k ..which is a not a small amount......

@[539565:crabn3bula] hmmmm difficult... mine is one month... managable... in this case your only help channel is your hr partner who can negotiate.... on amount and early releiving.... try

under preference of posting, they hv asked 3 states/ut/city
i may sound a bit stupid bt i've this confuson: we hv to write names of 3 states or ut or cities.. so can we write cities from a same single state or all of them should b from different states???
plz help

@tarunisgd said: @niko can u tell us abt the salary??is it fixed r der chances to earn more???just curious to knw ??
salary in hand for AO is 30k gross....after cutting 27 during probation (no mediclaim deduction, no hightaxes.) but later ur gross may come down due to various cuttings.

Earn more: no dude there's no chance in initial stage. moreover its bad to spoil ur image in the beginning itself. insurance companies are very close knit company and one bad move from your side can really spoil ur name in the entire region/state.

But later when u become manager u can earn, but at the cost of jeopardizing ur company. and too earn later on u need to build good contacts with all unions, seniors (who are corrupt). morever due to high use of technology it is getting day by day difficult to embezzle funds or do corruption. the corruption u can do is in two things- overlooking good underwriting practices in return for favor ( say a policy which should hvbeen sold for 50 lakhs u sell it for 30 lakhs taking 5 lakhs as bribe, giving client a benefit of 15 lakh) or it can be in claim settlement (passing claims which are not payable)

moreoever there are thousand ways to earn, which ull knw once u join insurance.

my word: insurance is a very dirty sector with very shrewed and hungry people. until u get confidence in work avoid putting ur signs anywhere on any document. seniors are ready to put u in trouble to get some benefit. once u join any insurance cos ull know hw much ur senior will avoid signing and coax u to sign instead. mazaa aa jaayega.

can u put more enlightment on d job profile of a genralist??
@tarunisgd said: pls some1 help me hpw to preapre for graduation subjects as i have heard dat in d interview most of the questions are related to graduation??
nope dude...interview is just casual chat..prepare abt ur hometown, state, favorite leader, and keep a strong reason ready for u to join insurace. put three different states in form and DONt rant abt home posting one bit. if u shw a liking for home postinf even 1% they will just kicku out of the room asap..

@[551950:niko] pls help me more about interview???

@futtimaniac said: Guys ......few doubts regarding Interview Data Sheet......If anybody's aware,Kindly Clarify!!1) What exactly is Native Place.....same as state of domicile??2) What does one has to fill in "Notice Period required to join NIC ....... days" column??@niko u surely brought the house down ......anything +ve that u want to shed some light on about Insurance PSUs........itna sunne ke baad toh kuch bhi chalega
native place: ur village name, not the city where u stay in.
notice period: ZERO days...again even 1 week notice period people are said bye bye..

positive abt insurance sector: sssooooooooooo much to learn...u wont master a particular department even if u work for life time...so those who want to learn for life will enjoy...

challenging: learn new things, manage mediocre office mates, manage ur boss demands, fulfill expectations of seniors, deal with loads of new people, good opportuites later on, u can also teach/train people in company later on once u get command on knowledge..

abt insurance psu: paeace of mind..work from 10 to 5.45 and no one will ask u next day why is this work not done...decent salary in beginning, expereince is highly respected, high respect in industry circle for managers, big contacts.

practically speaking only AO and AM are very difficult stages of career in psu where u hv to do actual admin work..later on from DM it is just read mail and give orders to staff...

yeah, it is demoralising but it's true. I've visited my neared NICL branch for insuring my bike and I've seen the exact work culture as he described.
ull also become part of that work culture shortly....situation is soo bad that sometimes office boys of clients have to sit down and stamp the policies by themselves, which is actually clerks work.
@OmegaMutant said: @pandit_pujari hmmpf!! But let's skip that part. And focus on interview. later when we're in , we'll see other awesome options viz., take the CAT, Civil services, RBI so many exams are there.
bro seriously if ur looking to appear for other exams, dont join insurance thinking that u'll get time..there is high pressure and u may have to work late hours and also on saturdays. as an officer ur highly responsible for everything pertainig to ur dept. ull hardly get peace of mind to come and study at the end of the day..plus ull also hv to study for insuracne exams which will take ur time...and if u wont study for insurance exams ur respect among office staff and manager will come down..

yes,,,they want people who will join asap as usuall psu companies arrange for training within 3 months of joining which is must to be attended by all new recruits...
