If you want to get out of IT, then the best way would be to find a job on u r own, provided you know what you wanna do. Afterall you would have good exposure after 2 yrs and i guess u can slog out and find your way.. We are all so lazy and want to stay in a comfort zone that we are happy to accept what ever we get.. Placements and packages are tempting big time that we just fall for it.. Sad but the fact !!!
Puys i'v one query- What z ds second shift pgdm..? Does general PGDM n second shift PGDM's placement take place 2gthr..?
Also, as the number of seats are increased will it create probelem durin placement..?

I was looking at the posts and I found that many people want to leave IT and are looking at ways they can do it.
Yes, TAPMI has 44% placement in IT, so many have to go back to IT.
But those who are looking at changing the industry with good pay packages, there are some ways. And one good way is to go for Finance along with CFA 1/2.
Yes, it is a hard work but I have seen people with 3-4 year work ex changing their industry by this route. So if you are serious to change industry think of finance. And good news is that you will get a very good package in finance but you have to work hard..
All the best to all who have converted. 😃

destinychildisk SaysJust an observation , 44 % batch placed in IT. Having worked in IT for 30 months, i would not have personally liked to see so many recruits in IT . But thats how it is .
neshville SaysIT will anyday form a major chunk of recruits....a lot dont.
mcooljsr SaysDoes this mean we will get a fair info beforehand concerning all the concerns that would be coming for campussing and the roles they would be offering?? Otherwise, it would be difficult for most people to sit back while the IT cos are recruiting!!
Seniors,
I just saw the placement report. I have 20 months of experience in manufacturing+marketing . I want to work in a Manufacturing or FMCG company after MBA. 44% students are placed in IT companies. Would it be difficult for me to get placed in a company of my desired sector?

That works for Finance.
Could you suggest something for a switch to marketing. The only way I could return to IT is in a Marketing capacity.
Hi everyone,
Can anybody tell me the last date for submission of the final acceptance letter along with the DD??
Thanks in advance
Just wanted to share one point of mine...
there is a difference in being a Busines Analyst/Senior Business analyst and
a stupid developer/tester/maintainer in IT
Hence do not have any disinterest towards IT...
neshville SaysIT will anyday form a major chunk of recruits...no shying away from that...when people join a bschool, they are hell bent against going into the IT industry..but i have seen many of them changing minds midway(they think "i have IT experience why not leverage that for onsite opportunities, higher package,my choice of location etc")..there are numerous reasons(suppose u intend to take up finance and later realise the course is too tough for you...yes this happens)..(suppose u interned in a marketing and sales profile and realise the on field job is not yours to pursue)its wrong to say that its tough to change fields but all i would like to say is the kind of placements to a lot of extent depends on the psyche of the students..if you are ready to wait..take the risk of not applying for a few IT companies with good package on offer for your dream profile and company, you will succeed...but then how many of you would actually want to take that risk is dependent upon you...many do...a lot dont.
I have a query.... does TAPMI have any off days in a week? or it is open for 7 days a week... After each trimester do we get some holidays ?
