Hi

TSB is an initiative by Manipal university Jaipur and TAPMI only supports this program i.e. the course is according to TAPMI standards nothing more. This is not TAPMI. There is only one TAPMI that is in Manipal ,Karnataka and TAPMI also has e centre for executive programs in Bangalore. For the last time TAPMI,Manipal doesn't govern TSB placement or have any association in this regards with this college.

TSB is an option which wait-listed non-converts have.

guys,

anyone recvd any mails yest or today?

when the next list will be announced... ? its been already 18th. they stated it ll be out by 17th.

WL movement ka kya scene hai bhai.... 17 to paar bhi ho gyi.... Kitne logo ne cancellations bhi karaya hoga.... Any chances for WL 250

No WL movement this week too. It has been confirmed by Admissions Office. The next movement will be done on 25th May.

My guess is that they want to wait until 23rd May for all possible candidates to pull out since after 23rd May they won't be getting the refund.

People are having to take a big risk with other colleges in which they have deposited fees or have skipped them in favour of TAPMI.

What should be done in this case ? There is no end to this wait.

It is very unprofessional to make commitments and then not fulfil them.

It has happened twice now, once on 7th and then again today on 18th.

Hey sid1205,
Where did U get this info ?? Did U call up the admission office, cause wen I called today morning they said they'd release it today evening ?? Are U sure abt this info ? Has anyone else called the admission office ?
I jus called n they said 25th only 😞

Even on the morning of 7th May they said , they would update by evening and by afternoon they said 16th.
Even today morning they said end of day and now in afternoon they said next week.

Lets see if the updation happens next week.

What I really find confusing is that, why can't they give calls for the seats that have confirmed to become vacant due to withdrawals.

I jus called and edited my previous post

While they carry on with their plans, we wait here with hope of a conversion "soon" pondering over whether to withdraw from other colleges in the fear of not getting back the refund or to skip other colleges in favour of TAPMI.

Why don't people understand this ?

If they do update on 25th then how many calls will be given and how long will they be given to pay up and when will the list be updated again. By that time many colleges would have already started and people haven't yet made up their mind on what to do.

Why don't they give calls for the seats that have already been confirmed to be vacated ?

These questions need to be answered.

TAPMI is doing a great job...amazing... :@
I guess it would be better if the waitlisted ppl proceed with other available options.. (even though itsnt as good as TAPMI)...

***now i understand how the waitlist movement went upto 1000+ last year... !! ***

Will there be refund of 3.37 lacs if we withdraw admission after 23rd May...I have my counselling for KJ Somaiya on 25th May...If I get admission in KJ Somaiya, and I withdraw admission from TAPMI then will the amount be refunded?

In the offer letter it was mentioned that if we withdraw after 23rd May then amount will not be refunded...

WTF is going on? The forums are flooded with queries regarding refund and all..seems everybody has withdrawn..just can't understand the strategy behind this post pone now..The process is really not transparent, applicants need to know whats going on behind the walls with our applications? Its more of a mockery especially for working guys. Most of us have to serve notice period as well. No good management atleast at the first gear.

You might have to buy out your notice period. In case your notice period is 1 month you might have to shell out less compared to that if it is 3 months.

Hi All,

I am posting this message for the aspirants of TAPMI who will be referring this thread, be it for the year of 2012 or the coming years.

Let me give a brief introduction of myself:

Xth : 90.20
XIIth: 84.60
BTech: 6.73(CGPA)
Work Experience: 34 Months (TCS)
CAT 2011: OA 98.xx (QA: 97.xx & VA: 97.xx)
XAT 2012: OA 95.xx (QA: 93.xx; VA: 90.xx; DM:82.xx)
Converts: IIM-Ro,U,XIMB,IMT-G,TAPMI etc...

I need to convey a few things to fellow Puys:

My TAPMI admission process was very good with an decent GD and an awesome PI (knew I got spot admission from the interviewer's response). As expected I was given an offer letter within 5 days with a term coined by TAPMI as "exceptional candidate". I accepted the offer with glee as that was my first convert. A couple of days back I got IMT-G too which I seriously considered, but did not go for as I felt there is not much of a difference btw the two colleges.

Later I cancelled my admission @ TAPMI as I got XIMB and eventually IIMs. The issue w.r.t TAPMI that I have to convey is regarding my friend, who also applied TAPMI and got GDPI call with a %ile of 68.xx. I know many of guys would have got calls from TAPMI with similar scores or even lower. There is one thing that you all need to know and keep in mind from here on.

The weightage for CAT/XAT score w.r.t admissions is not something like 30% or some weird formula which people from TAPMI are spreading. The students in admissions commitee are giving a wrong notion or rather a hope that all of you guys are having a chance, a mathematical chance as they say with one condition, that you need to perform well in GDPI. My friend had even called one of them (Viraj) and asked about the weightage and his suggestions. It is actually 60% for CAT/XAT and rest 40% based on GDPI and profile (wrk-ex,acads,etc). But with such a weightage which is similar to most of the colleges, I would say it is a tactic deployed by TAPMI to attract more applications and thereby earn a lot. I need not tell you how much a TAPMI application costs, how much they are gonna cough up every year.

I am talking based on sheer facts. I have a friend studying there (name cannot be disclosed) and she said there are hardly any people or almost nil with scores below 70 in the current batch. Also I am sure of the wieghtage for admission process too, because of two reasons: a) else my friend who did exceptionally well in GDPI would have got an admit (similar profile as that of mile, barring CAT/XAT score). and more importantly b) because I came to know about the weightage from an insider (a TAPMI faculty) when asked about the same. I called him (my family friend) up to enquire why friend is not figuring even in the waitlist. So, only then he opened up and confessed about the weightage.

Pls guys dont expect anything from TAPMI and if you get admission, with a low score, you should be really lucky!
All The Best to all of you,
Cheers!

Well my friend, a good analysis indeed but you are not referring to whole fact.

60% and 40% ratio which you are referring is only for STAGE - 1 that is GD.
And after that the second stage, the consolidated score of GD + CAT is taken. But after that no one knows the final proportions of weightage.
So the formula that admissions department is referring is 100% true. Viraj must have told you the weightage for STAGE - 1.
STAGE - 2 is PI and there the formula that admissions department is referring comes into play.

Now talking about people less that 70 in our batch:
Take one example,
Mr X with good profile say 7 out of 10
and Mr Y again 8 out of 10 on profile.
Mr Z very niche profile with 9.5 out of 10

But Mr. X has 95%tile and Mr. Y has 67%time. whereas Mr Z has 67%tile.

Tell me, a lilbit difference in profile, Can it beat huge difference in CAT score?
So when profile is not that strong, you cannot convert at This year one guys converted at some 70%tile in first list, reason very niche profile. And TAPMI is trying to bring diversity in batch by allowing people with low profile.
Now there are many Mr X applying to TAPMI. There are many Mr Ys applying to TAPMI but there are less Mr Zs applying to TAPMI (e.g. obviously there cannot be many aeronautical engineer with 3 years work ex in the same area)
Now if someone has IT profile, less %tile and some sports activity. Then such profiles are high so at that time CAT becomes deciding factor. If you are damn sure about your profile and can rely on it then and then you can convert with your profile. Else you need support of CAT/XAT score also.

So in short, if you are Mr. Z then and then you can convert at
I am clarifying this so that everyone can understand the complexity of admissions process and next batch can also refer to this post.
