How do we calculate the new Composite score index now after the update ? and why are people crying for 25% weightage ,when it is actually 35% (10% WAT and 25% PI) :|
And also some significant weightage will also be given to -' other inputs compiled from the candidates' applications will be used for preparing the final selection list (without WAT/PI scores). ' this as they have specifically mentioned. There were theory questions which would enable them to understand the candidate i guess. But, yeah PI is a completely different experience.
Lets just hope for the best 🙌
I can understand upto certain extent of having a criteria for IIT. But NITs too? There are colleges better than many NITs that people select. Plus 5 marks is a high weightage for such things. As male student who studied in non IIT/NIT institute, 10 marks are already out.
Online interview is the solution. Don't rant for IIT/NIT and diversity points.

Guys, First of all I am a GEM from a Tier -3 college and IIT-D is the only best one I got (CAT 2019 97.17 - 71.22/98.13/99.08). I had put my soul into CAT 2019 Preparation and I don't even have CAP calls.
So I hope I am eligible to talk about this.
So, Now that we don't have WAT and PI, many are requesting not to consider weightage given to gender diversity and NIT/IIT graduates but let us remember that it is the same criteria that brought us here.
Moreover, without any PI happening, they can trust only by candidates graduating institutes, academic performance and since mba colleges are verging for diversity, we cannot complain about the weightages given. If at all, we complained, we should have complained when they release the first shortlist itself.
I might sound wrong but the admission team is left with no choice. Even I had a good interview at chennai and I feel sad for my efforts going into pain and same with all our peers but when a global pandemic like this happens, what could the admission committee do, after all they r also people like us and they can do what ever best they got.
As MBA aspirants it is imperative for us to be patient and have characters that show respect. So let us show our respect to them and be like gentle men.
If we have any other grievances, we can quote to the adcom team and I think we can't question them on selection criteria.

How on earth does it make sense to give marks based on college ? There are better colleges than Most NITs and new IITs like Bits Pilani ,DTU etc How on earth does it make sense to give marks for any NIT/IIT ?!!!
This is so messed up . The reason we weren’t upset after the shortlist was announced is because we thought the final criteria is mostly based on PI/ WAT
First the institute keeps postponing , saying that they will announce the PI dates after the lockdown while other B schools were taking online interviews ans now abruptly they say they will scrap PI /WAT due to unforeseen circumstance .
While many of us spent money on flights ,trains and accommodation to travel and give PI etc . Atleast since they have decided to go ahead with direct offers , they should atleast change the criteria . Please do mail them regarding this issue if you are someone effected by this !!!

Subject : Regarding the unfairness of the points given specifically to IIT/NIT graduates
Sir / Madam ,
I understand the IIT Delhi DMS decision to scrap PI / WAT process as these are unusual circumstances and could not have been predicted . Although many of us have given offline interviews , we still support the decision of cancelling WAT/PI.
As per the information given to us by the Admission Committe , the criteria for direct admission might be the same as the criteria for Shortlist. Assuming this to be true i would request you to look into the diversity points given for IIT/NIT candidates. While many of the us are non IIT/NIT graduates . It seems unfair that we should miss out on those valuable 5 marks which make a huge difference.
Many of us applied to IIT Delhi DMS in the hopes that we will get a fair shot at admission and giving points to students based on the college they graduating from for admission into IIT Delhi DMS seems to be unfair , in my opinion.
Therefore, I request you to look into this issue.
