Chapter I

Story by:

Meghna Sahu, Viditi Jajodia

Devil's dance or Fate's tale

Not every day you get to meet someone as creepily the same as you, someone who not only has the same dreams but is there to live with you in all. It does sound something straight out of a Yash Chopra fairy tale. Then again it was the shared love of cinema that got us two together. And for all of those who know us better are aware that it's not the dreamy world of Bollywood masala but the sheer love for world destruction that snapped us together. It could have been a perfect love story but in the world of Satan, it was the celebration of his daughters.

And this is how DaughtersofDystopia was founded. Two girls, with a love for writing, and an affinity to shadow world, all set to give a new twisted perspective to the old tales. Managing a full-time blog amidst the busy B-school life was a huge task but then all that hard work paid off when our stories got published on Stealing Sailors, a fantasy literary and art magazine. It has been liberating to be able to create something that impacts multiple others. After all, an MBA is all about exploring the best out of oneself.

HUMANS OF SIMSR Because everyone has a story Chapter I Story by: Krunal Sampat Happiness is.. "Do what you like, Like what you do" Simple words, right? Na! Very often we are bogged down by our hectic schedule so much that we miss out on doing small things that give us happiness. Remember getting your favourite Tazo in Lays? Or playing hide and seek during your childhood? Happiness is a state of being. It’s an emotion that you feel or do not feel. And there is no way to keep happiness 24 x 7. But you can get really close! Sometimes it takes from a couple of hours to years of introspection to find out what really excites you or brings you little moments of joy. It may sound absurd but during my teenage days, chopping onions gave me happiness which later moved on to cooking some side dishes. Like a child waits for Diwali Vacations, I still wait for weekends so that I & my sister can cook a scrumptious meal. First time I watched Gordon Ramsay in Master Chef, that’s when I heard the golden words “16 Michelin stars”. It’s culinary world’s Oscars. I was amazed by Ramsay’s overall personality & one of the things in my bucket list was to experience how restaurant kitchen works. Till then I watched most of the cooking shows & movies like The Hundred-Foot Journey and Burnt. During my internship with Box8 I ticked off the item from my bucket list. I got to manage a part of a professional restaurant kitchen works wherein, learned many culinary skills & consequently impressed my mummy & sister. Cooking made me realize happiness can come in any form. It need not be a complex dish like Paneer Tikka Masala, a simple sandwich or a well-seasoned salad can touch one's soul. Happiness is Sharpening your Chef knife & chopping Vegetable. Happiness is seeing people hogging your dish. Happiness is a cooking surprise dinner when Mummy comes home tired. Happiness is Experimenting in the kitchen, wearing oven gloves & watching Cheese melt. Happiness is the crackling sound of tadka & melting butter on your paratha. Happiness is Papa asking you to make more just so that he can relish later on. So yeah Happiness is Cooking and Cooking is Happiness. #HumansOfSIMSR #MasterYourFutureAtSIMSR #KnowTheSIMSRites

Anyone has idea like how many students were shortlisted last year vs this year for gdpi? I heard 6000 is it right?

The topper of her class, it came as no surprise when Akanksha got selected in HP for her internship. Stepping into the corporate world for the first time, she got to use and apply her bookish knowledge in the real world and see its implications with her own eyes. From understanding consumer insights to conceptualizing new strategies, she did it all within a work culture that provided her with people who were positive and nurturing and helped her reach her full potential.
