My take 29
In the first 4 hours machine a produces 4 units
after 4 hours both machine a and b are ready to operate and they manufacture 9 every hour
so 54 in 6 hours. In the remaining 2, one is produced by A and the other by B .
Hence 4+6*4+1 = 29
