[OFFICIAL] SP Jain School of Global Management (SPJSGM) | Dubai, Singapore, Sydney: MGB & Global MBA - Admissions 2023-24

Hi rutty,

I have a little confusion.
Why SP Jain-Singapore/Dubai gives a call on lesser percentile in CAT/XAT as compared to SP Jain-Mumbai?

What actually is the difference between the reputations of Indian and abroad campus of SP Jain?

Hope you have got my point.

Kindly throw some light upon the same.

hi guys, how did you find sp jain aptitude test? i found it very unmanaged at paschim vihar center...no management of time slots as we can go anytime to take up the test.
Cn u tell me when the results will be out ?
do neone know that how many students they take exclusively from aptitude test?
do they give prefrence to cat/xat/gmat? what's the cut off for the test?nd when we hv to send the application for the same ...is it only after the results will be out as i hv not given ne of the other exams..

hey dude may be that was the case with your centre but ours went through quiet smoothly with the given time slots.

@rutty
could you throw some lights about the results of aptitude test?

Hi rutty

I appeared for the Sp jain test that was held yesterday 28 Jan:
I have the following queries for the same:

1. When will the test scores results be out?

2. From wht i understood after going through this thread is that, only after u will get scores( CAT/GMAT/SPJAT etc) will u process the application unlike last time where all the applications were processed irrespective of test scores?

3. In case i dont get the required score/percentile ( minimum score required as per wht website says is 75 % for SPJAT), do i have an opportunity to give it again the next time , the test will be held?.

thanks!

Dear Manik,
If you wish to be considered for IB you need to send us an email at [email protected] about the same and if it is possible then we will inform you accordingly. but pls note that this is possible only before you are evaluated. once you have been through the evaluations then it is very difficult to change your stream and you would have to repeat the process again.
thanks

Hi Rutty,

How difficult is it to shift from IT to Invetsment Banking. The work ex. in IT is around 3 yrs in a Fortune 100 co.

Dear Akhil,
You may still submit your application as the last date to apply for the June 2007 intake is 30th April 2007. incase you missed taking the aptitude test on 28th January, then either you may take the GMAT or take the test when we conduct it again. But we have not yet decided when we would be having the next test.
thank you

Sorry about the delay in replying ,b ut our office was closed from 26-28 jan due to the holidays.
No, you need not have taken the aptitude test as your XAT percentile is fine. Incase you have already taken the aptitude test, we will consider the best score.
Thank you.

Hi Rutty,

I have a small query. I have scored 94.28 % in XAT this year and i also have registered for the aptitude test on sunday. Is my XAT percentile sufficient to get a call or shuld i give the SP Jain test just to be sure.

Regards,
Jai

HI Dominique,
Thank you for your query. A lot of students Im sure would have the same doubts.

PLs understand that our eligibility criteria is different from that of SPJIMR, Mumbai.
While SPJIMR, Mumbai comes under the system of centralised admissions via CAT etc we have our own admissions procedure.
We do not lay emphasis on ONLY the entrance test scores and look at the application as a whole keeping in mind other factors like work expreice, academics, personality, smartness, extra curriculars, achievements etc as we feel that the overall aptitude and ability of the candidate matters more to us than just the entrance test score.
So while the basis for shortlisting candidates of most Indian B-schools would be very high CAT,XAT,CET scores our emphasis is on overall profile of the students.
Hence it is not necessary that someone who has a percentile of 92 in CAT would surely be shorltisted by us, as he may not be meeting any of our otehr requirements, whereas someone who has a CAT percentile of 84 might get shortlisted if he satisfies all the otehr criteria.

There is no difference in the reputation or prestige value or recognition amongst the industry between SPJIMR, Mumbai or SPJCM, Dubai/Singapore.
Each enjoys its own place among recruiters and both are held in high regard.
Infact students from SPJCM, Dubai-Singapore have been placed in similar pay brackets in similar Indian companies as their counterparts from SPJIMR, Mumbai.

Hope i have sorted yours as well as many of the other students doubts.
pls do let me know if you have any further questions, i would be more than happy to answer all of them.

Hello,
I apologise for the mismanagement at your exam center and will look into the matter asap.
Could you please confirm if the test was conducted from 1.30 to 2.30 or was it available to students throughout the day?
Could also pls throw some more light on what was the exact mismanagement out there?

There is no fixed number of students that we take from the aptitude tests. As long as the students have achieved a certain score and they are meeting all our other requirements, we would shortlist them.
There is no preference given to any of the entrance tests. All are on the same platform.
For CAT/XAT our cut off is 80 percentile and for GMAT your score should be 650+ and for our own aptitude test it would be 75 percentile.
If you have not yet submitted an application you may do so right away or wait until your score is out.
We are not shortlisting students who do not have scores. If you apply now, we will update your aptitude test score, collate the data and then process your application.
or you may apply after you have your aptitude test score in hand.
thanks

Dear Jerry,
thanks for the update about your test center.
As for the results, they should be out in about a week or 10 days.
pls check our website for the same as they would be put up there.

@rutty

Hi,
1.The test scores would be updated on our website in a week to 10 days
2. Yes, that is correct. We will process only those applications that have a score. earlier a student could be shortlisted and even evaluated before having a score and only once we received his/her score we would collate the data and take the final decision on the application
From the June intake we will only process those applications that have a score.
3.Yes, you may take the test again to improve your scores. We have not yet fixed the date for the next aptitude test.

Hi Rutty,
Well in relation to the mis management of time i took the test in Bangalore. The following are the things that my fellow friend could have misunderstood.

1. There were tests other than Sp Jain aptitude tests happening in the ATTEST venue through out the. I can tell this because i was in the centre from morning 11 A.M.

2. The test for SP Jain did happen in the gap of 1.30 to 2.30 only.

3. The timings might have appeared vague but the test itself was self timed i dont think this should be a concern. As in the students were allowed themselves to start the test after going through the instructions similar to any online timed test.

Senthil

Hi Rutty,

I had applied for the spjain dubai intake in the first week of Jan. Since my CAT score is very less I have given the aptitude test. I wanted to know that will my application be processed after the results are declared or the application has been processed with my CAT score.
And if my application has been processed with the CAT score then will it be re-evaluated with the new score if I clear the cut-off.

Hi Rutty,
One of the unanswered queries posted long time back - Will the SPJain Aptitude test scores conducted for Dec 2006 intake be valid for June 2007 intake as well?
I had taken the test on 3rd Dec 2006.

Plus, How do we update you on our scores in other exams?

Would appreciate your prompt reply. 😃
Thanks,
Abhijit.

Thanks for this update, but i think as you took the test in Bangalore there was no issue, but your friend has taken the test in Delhi, so i was interested in knowing what exactly went on there so students do not face similar issues the next time around.

Could you ask him to write to me explaining what was the problem there pls.

Dear namrata,
Yes we will re-evaluate your application once we have your aptitude test scores and if you are above the cut off.
thanks

thank you for reminding me about the same and again a very important question.
yes ,we have now taken the decision to accept last years aptitude test scores. So pls mention the same in your application form or update us about the same if you have already applied.
You may update us about anything with regards to your application by sending an email to [email protected]

HI ,
I have my SPJCM interview on the 3rd of Feb.
While going thru the other threads (the Dec '06 thread), i read about the recommendation letters .
But I am not aware , whether or not we are supposed to be carrying any recommendation letter this time around.
Please reply asap.

Thanks & Regards,
catbeller

Hello,
No, you need not carry recommendation letters for the valuations. We have changed the system now. From the June 07 intake only students who have been offered a place are needed to bring letters of recommendation in the prescribed format.
Thus pls do not worry about carrying reco letters.
thanks
