Hi,

My query1: Could you please tell us the tentative dates when the short lists will be out for the may intake? And subsequently when will the evaluations will be held?? This, assuming the application online is made on this instant.

query2: in the online form, total experience is asked. till what date are we supposed to consider the work ex.

The apckages for a fresher would naturally bne slightly lower than the avg mentioned on our website.

however you have not answerde my queries on the issue of placements....
as in what kind of PACKAGES ARE OFFERED AND WHAT ARE THE PACKAGES EXPECTED FOR THE COURSE WITH SPECIALISATION IN MARKETING - FOR A PERSON WITHOUT WORK-EXPERIENCE....
IL BE GRADUATING THIS YEAR...N WILL JOIN IN dECEMBER IF POSSIBLE...
SO SINCE I WONT BE HAVING ANY WORK EX...IF I MAKE THROUGH....WHAT KIND OF A PACKAGE CAN I EXPECT..FOR A JOB IN INDIA OR EVEN ABROAD...WITH AN MBA WITH MKTG...PLZ GIMME AN APPROX AVG FIGURE....

No, you neednt take the aptitude test as your GMAT score is fine. its jst slightly belwo our cut off but i think that shudnt be an issue

Dear Swetha ma'am,
i need information regarding aptitude test.
1. The DD worth Rs. 2000( fee for the test) is to be made against whose name and when is the last date to send it?
2.When and where will be the test taken?
3. Is there any center in indore where i can give the test?
4. please suggest some books to study for the aptitude test.

I have a low Gmat score, a strong work experience and a good academic performance, thus i m applying for Gmat again and also wish to give the aptitude test.

Yuo may check your status on the website in about a weeks time.

I have applied to Spjain Dubai/singapore (Jan Intake ) Session based on my gmat score (610) and got waitlisted. Now i am planning to reapply for the coming May Intake session.
MY question is whether i there is any need for appearing for spjain aptitude test or I will apply based on my same Gmat score.

My Profile:
Gmat Score: 610,
Graduation-B.Tech in Chemical Engg, 75%
Class XII - 79% & X= 76%
Work experience as on 31st march,08 = 21 months
Presently working in a Chemical Manufacturing Company.

Awards n extra curricular Activities- got two professional certificates for my excellent cost saving work . In addition to that, I have chunk of extracurricular activities-paper presentation to orgainizing a group to innovative model designing to participation in social activities like Blood donation camps, Educational camps.

I have applied for Investment Banking stream at Spjain. I think this may be the probable reason for my waitlist. I am willing to do my specialization in Finance. Can you suggest me related to that also???????????

well you havent mentioned your undergraduate degree scores ( of ALL years) maybe it wasnt a first class...that could be one of the reasons

Im afraid you cannot access your form for the Jan 08 intake. You would have to apply afresh if you wish to be considered for the May 08 intake. The applications have started since Dec 23rd 07 for the May 08 intake

I am plannin to apply for the June 2008 intake with my CAT score...

In CAT 2007, I have got 87.xx percentile with a 93plus in verbal and DI but very less (20 percentile) in quants...

Does SP Dubai looks for sectional percentiles
Whats the overall required..is 87 good enough to get a call..i ve 2.5 yrs work-ex...good acads and decent extra curricular
IF I want to take SPJAT is there any specific date and place to take it or I can take it along with my GD PI
If I take SPJAT, and if i submit my CAT score also does SP takes the best among the 2...?

I m not sure whether these queries were addressed before but plz take sometime to reply and guide me..

Mam,

1) Though my cat overall percentile is 92.22 in QA: 75.xx and DI 71.xx and VA 98.xx with DI and QA being bit low does it meet ur criteria (sectionals) ? If not i've to apply for SPJAT test immediately.

2) I have very good acads of 90+ % throughout school and college, 20 months work exp, prizes in extra curriculars and so on.

I would particularly like my first point to be addressed

1) Although I have filled the option that I may take Aptitude test, I am in dilemma whether it is really needed. Is my CAT score sufficient enough to get a call?
2) Is there any sectional cut off for shortlisting based on CAT score?
3) Is is mandatory for me to take the Aptitude test if I have registered for it on the website?

Hi,

Your profile is alright but your GMAT score falls below our cut off - i suggest that you tkae the aptitude test to improve on your score.

You may apply for a different superspecialisation under finance - however you should apply for a stream that is of your interest.

Are all your years of graduation a first class? if not then that could also bea deterrent.

While we do expect students to have atleast a first class in ALL years of their academics - we would look at the overall profile of a candidate before making any decision

hi,

1. No, we do not have any sectional cut offs - we look a the overall percentile
2. To get a call you will need to meet all of our criteria - but in terms of entrance test scores - your CAT score meets our cut off
3. IF you wish totkae the SPJAT - its being conducted on the 2nd of FEb - its held on specific dates and is not clubbed alongwith the GD/PI
4. Yes we will consider the best among the 2

but in my opinion you need not tkae our test as you havea scoret hat meets our cut off

Hi,

We look atthe overall CAT score and do not have any sectional cut offs - your CAT score is fine as it meets our cutoff - you need not tkae the aptitude test.

The rest of your profile also seems fine - however I cannot comment on your chances as that is a decision of the Admissions Commitee

Hi,
Your CAT percentile is fine as i t meets our cut off - hence you need not take the SPJAT
However pls note that merely having a high CAT score doesnt necessarily mean that you would automatically get shortlisted - only if the Admissions COmmitee feels you are fulfilling ALL otehr criteria as well - only then you would get shortlisted.

We do not have sectional cut offs - we look atthe overall percentile

If you do not send the DD we will not register u for the test and u would anyways not be able to generate your hall ticket.

Hey buddy,

sp sing/ dub doesen't take the xat score. so you need to submit either of:

cat
gmat
spjat : spjain's own aptitute test.

To: Shweta Maam,

All my years of graduation is well above first class. I have secured in around 74-75% in all semesters. Moreover our college is very reputed college in chem engg since 1942.

Nways i have few more queries for you. If you dont mind.

1) you must be knowing that Spjat is ard 2 weeks from now. I need to know that whether the authorities conduct the aptitude test again for may intake apart from this 2feb,08 exam. Actually i dont want to take second chance dis time and wanna prepare to the best.

2) Whether there is any advantage if you apply early as the deadlines are upto 31st march. Last time i applied at around the deadline only.

3) In the previous application, I applied under IB....so this around i ll be applying under Finance only may be WM. As 1st stage of application involves no essays ...only form filling. so how can i emphasize them to shortlist my name for 2nd stage process. As i dont have finance background and moreover if i will opt for other branch, they might ask me why i have choosen IB in Jan intake??????

Hi Rutty,

I am not able to submit my form online for the GMBA May Intake 2008 for the past few days.

Let me explain the problem in detail.

I had duly filled all relevant sections 1) Personal Details 2) Academic Details
3) Work Experience 4) Other Information.
Once I saved -> clicked on Confirm -> Tick the 'I Agree' Checkbox -> Press SUBMIT , the application should ideally submit and provide me with an acknowledgement no. to be used for future correspondence.
However, after I click SUBMIT, it shows ' Errors on the page' in status bar and doesnt seem to submit.

I have been trying to submit my application for more than a week now, from different places, but the problem remains the same.

Could you suggest me in this regard. I can share my login credentials with you, in case you can provie help to me.
